Watching some vgt cars in gallery view...amazing on a ps3. Maybe there won't be self reflection technology but poly knows how to showcase cars. I donnt care about online experience and "sim racing" but please keep the feeling of GT.
Obviously GT needs better AI, sounds, career structure, features...but I don't see another racing game with the same GTish vibe. I will be very disapointed if GTsport is only about competitive racing.

So the rundown is about 15 minutes. Maybe they'll take 5 minutes to talk and then we'll be told,

"Ok chaps, here's a 10 minute trailer in 60FPS, Enjoy!"

No.

At 7:45 p.m. (in France), it's a summary of the day.

Before that, there is a real press conference ;)

The car damage model will be interesting, for sure. It's such a physically complicated thing to do in simulation, so many variables. Just visually, the realistic deformation of a moving object made of many different types of materials, parts, and impact stresses, etc etc.

Then on top of that, the calculation of how much actual damage to the mechanisms of the car itself, the engine, the aero parts, the tires, suspension, etc...

We are many years away from this being even vaguely accurate, so how this translates to an FIA-sanctioned event will be very interesting to see. Maybe this issue occupied a lot of negotiations between PD and the FIA...? We can't, for example, have cars pinging undamaged off a wall at 200kmh and carrying on racing.

Also, those people expecting magical new AI. It probably won't happen. Again, because genuine, coherent, believable AI is essentially impossible. They will fake it as best as they can, but there will always be those moments of 'what the...' when some weird behaviour occurs.

(with these in mind, still super, over excited about GTS haha)

Just noticed that in the official gran-turismo site the "7 to 77" original GT Sport introduction has disappeared. They have changed it to the GTS unveiling page. Although it doesn't necessarily mean anything, it's interesting they've decided to ditch the original info page.

I do wonder how early the original GT Sport trailer dates from in development. I mean, it was the most barebones of information they gave us in that trailer - essentially, Polyphony told us it was a new GT games with new cars, and an FIA championship. Nothing about the finer elements of the game - sound, AI, damage, track list, car list, physics improvements... just a basic statement of what the game was for. Almost like the pre-development pitch you might see from a game developer to the publisher before development commences in earnest and finer details are confirmed. It might be that whatever info comes out of the London event is massively more detailed and informative to the extent that it renders such basic information redundant. After all, a select few of will be playing the game in less than four days - they can almost find out what they want to know themselves by playing the game.

Ummm what its not 6.5 its a different game GTSport seems like its leaning towards Esports Racing with leagues and tournaments etc.
I suppose I should have said Prologue 6.5, but I think you know what I mean. ;)

I'm not sure what GTS is going to bring to the table. There should be some sort of damage modeling. No game has "magical" A.I., but tighter faster fields should be enough. Slightly better weather should be good, and on all tracks, along with time of day settings. I'm not expecting Race Mod or a Livery Editor, but I do expect a solid foundation for an eSports infrastructure, so cars will be appropriate for that. Just three more days... :D

The first trailer could easily be +1 year old. The PDI-FIA bond was announced almost two years ago:
https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/06/25/fia-certifies-four-tracks-gran-turismo-6/
(Of course, in 2014 that blog predicts a couple of things wrong.)

It was around mid-2015 that GT6 began to slow down in terms content updates. By September, the course creator was the final major update, and by October, GT Sport was officially shown for the first time. The "GT Sport" name had been floating about online a few months prior to the unveiling, so who knows... maybe the trailer dates back to mid-2015.

I'm hoping we see the Italian cars mentioned in this rumor finally. I apologize for using a NeoGAF link but the GTPlanet link was deleted a long time ago. I've been anxiously awaiting these since the news came out of the L.M Gianetti garage that PD was there (3 years ago!).

They are the Alfa 155 TI V6 '93 (as a premium model)

and the Glickenhaus Ferrari P4/5

There is an older reference for the Ferrari P4/5 Competizione on GTPlanet here but it seems to have been debunked at that time.

You are right in that, but super gts are a category GT always supported since the beginning, and again, super gts always got featured in a gt game, so it will be no surprise if GTS will feature them. Maybe PD will feature them at London, maybe don't, but super gts can be a high possibility in GTS
GT has always supported the Super GT series but those have all been full GT games and we already know this is not a full, regular game in the series. For all we know the entire game could be limited to FIA series cars only along with their street car brothers and the VGT's. All bets are off at this point in relation to what has been done in the past. Nothing would surprise me.

They would be good additions but they both have the problem that they have little or no competition. The 155 was a Class 1 Touring Car and the only others in that class were the Mercedes 190E and Opel Calibra. We have the 94 Opel but nothing of the Merc. If they are going to add it, hopefully they would add that as well.

The P4/5 on the other hand has no direct competition as far as I know, it fits to no regulations and so it would just be yet another race car in no-mans-land in GT, and just throw into random races with other random oddballs.

And here I am, just waiting for the Holy Trinity to be in the game... I just hope there is some balance between race cars and road cars.
I wonder how the tuning will be in this game... since it's not a "full" GT game, should we expect the same level of tuning of GT6, or something more focused on suspension, aero and transmission, with no crazy engine mods?

The thing is, we don't really know how the car list will end up being... as far as we know, we will have those seen in the trailer shown before, probably all the VGT's shown so far and there is also a chance for most of the Premium cars from the last game to show up, atleast the ones that were already ps4 ready. So this car list can be pretty much anything, from a slim 150 to 200 car list to a full GT6 car list (plus some more additions) without the standards.

Well that Facebook guy IIRC mentioned '100+' to a couple of people so I don't think it's going to be 400 or more, I don't think he'd lowball that much unless he was trying to surprise us. I think 175-200 is a reasonable guess. It fits the "more than a prologue" line but it's still significantly less and more focused than a full game.

I would bite the hand off PD if they managed 175-200 premium race-spec (or street car variants) cars at a first attempt on PS4. It would provide a good amount of content whilst giving a good belief GT7 could have at least 300+.

Anyhoo of course the game won't be restricted to FIA only events and cars but I thought I'd collect all of the events/series that could potentially be included. It's actually less than I thought.

Formula 1
European Formula 3
Formula E
Masters Historic F1
Karting World Championship
World Touring Car Championship
European Touring Car Championship
World Endurance Championship
World Rally Championship + many other regional rally championships
World + European Rallycross
International Hill Climb
European Truck Racing

Of course it could be that they don't even use the real series, the FIA involvement may only be those two generically named cups we've already been told about.

Also in all the excitement of this event and E3 don't forget there is the FIA Sport Conference coming up on June 21st, it's the event the partnership was initially announced at and could well see further announcements/coverage this year.

I'm fairly sure that was for Assetto Corsa in the end.

These photos were originally labelled "SCANSIONE PER GRAN TURISMO PS4" on Facebook. I don't see how one could mistake AC for an upcoming PS4 version of GT, especially two years before a console port of AC was even announced.

Besides, they also scanned the Lancia Delta HF Integrale which Kunos doesn't have a licence for.

The lambo is a FIA car ?

The words Gran Turismo are part of the Italian language and are different from the words Gran Turismo TM game franchise. @Jordan said St the time that it wasn't in our interests to think anything of it.

Polyphony Digital employees were recently spotted at L.M. Gianetti, a high-end racing garage and engineering company based in Turin, Italy.

L.M. Gianetti’s garage is home to some very special cars, including the Ferrari P4/5 Competizione, Martini Racing’s Lancia Delta HF Integrale, and the Alfa Romeo 155 Touring Car – a car that’s been very popular with Gran Turismo fans since it first appeared in Gran Turismo 2.

The Polyphony Digital team can be seen collecting data in photographs posted yesterday on L.M. Gianetti’s Facebook page. Curiously, the gallery has been titled “SCANSIONE PER GRAN TURISMO PS4″, which translates to “Scanning for Gran Turismo PS4″..

It was definitely PD.
