Dear PD, I hope you're seeing this video here...
As a huge fan of the sport, I'd really like to see NASCAR back in GT Sport, as I posted earlier in this thread. When I see this trailer, I think: "Damn, why didn't PD deliver that much NASCAR content, in terms of topicality? " I mean, sure, FM6 has way less cars than GT. But, in GT6 the most recent NASCAR's are from '13, in FM6 they're all from 2016. And they even have selectable paint schemes. Also, Turn 10 added an additional 10 hour NASCAR campaign mode and more new content related features to the game. Wonder if PD pulls off the same, or even in a more "badass" kind of way, giving us even more NASCAR content than Forza does. But here are my concerns about NASCAR in GT Sport:
1. NASCAR is not an FIA series, and since GTS is made with the FIA in mind, I think there is a chance we might see no NASCAR content in GTS...
...and
2. It could be very possible that if Forza now has the NASCAR license and even managed to get more NASCAR content in their game, PD might (but only might) have lost their NASCAR license.
What's your opinion on it?

The FIA link is an online championship. Nothing more.

Only if you include Standards (which seems unlikely). Going by content up to today's standards, GT6 has less... But we don't know how much the number (430-ish IIRC) has been bolstered by new additions.
Of course, it sounds unlikely every Premium is going to be in GTS anyway.
NASCAR no longer does exclusive licenses, and T10 have been pretty vocally against them as well for a while. I don't think that's anything to worry about!

Last year Polyphony were hiring specifically for people to help implement rules in various forms of racing, including NASCAR

We have no idea how strong or pervasive the FIA link is within the game. It could utterly dominate gameplay or it may not be in the career mode at all as a separate element. It could be something left only to the higher ranks of esports or mixed in here and there throughout. It's all guesswork at this point.

Ah, somehow I thought that PD actually made the game with the FIA in mind then, lol. Thanks for claring me up on that side of things!

I think that this should be a week of celebration, I am very critical of GT and have stopped playing the games nearly two years ago but I still got excited with the unveiling even when I am pretty sure I won't be getting it (mainly because of my TX wheel not being compatible with PS systems). PD doesn't communicate much at all regularly so yeah, just my perspective as an outsider now I'd say enjoy this unveiling countdown and get super hyped. Nascar is a very popular series so I'm pretty sure that they will mention whether it's going to be in GTS or not, if worst comes to worst you can always pick up an XBone with FM6 . 👍

IMO, GT still has the license of NASCAR, remember they aren't doing exclusive licenses now (in your FACE EA!! ). Besides, GT debuted gen 6 on games, and gen 5 is still with us!. No NASCAR on GT sport, obviously, but on GT7, a huge chance . I'm not a big fan of NASCAR tho

We can still see NASCAR or any other non-FIA series in GT Sport. As others have said, we don't know exactly how deep the FIA connection runs through the game. If their only involvement is with the championships there is seemingly no reason other events couldn't run.
I posted the entire list of current FIA series a few pages back and they're not that great in number, even less when you take out F1, which is not going to be present as Codies has the exclusive license. So what you're left with really wouldn't be enough to pad out a game, IMO.
So whilst we obviously won't see things like NASCAR or Super GT in the FIA events themselves I see no reason they won't be included for other events and series in the game.
