I would say that they wouldn't have hired that guy from Forza to have him sit around and make sure everything sounds the way it has for years. We have 6 months until launch, I expect changes.
The Forza guy was just one person on a team with several audio leads. Do you really think he can change a lot, because what we have heared was better, but still far away from beeing on the level of recent racing games like Asseto Corsa.

I think everyone needs to consider what GT Sport is: a placeholder for GT7, which likely is being worked on diligently behind the scenes by at least a fraction of the team.
GT cycle for some:

something negative appears
-> Guys, the console hold them back, everything will change next gen
-> nothing/not enough changed
-> guys that is just a placeholder/ they'll release a patch to improve it
-> nothing/not enough changed
-> Guys, the console hold them back, just wait for more powerful hardware. :D
So what can we expect from a super-Prologue? Not as much as the full release title.
Last time i checked they wanted an full AAA game price for this game.

If GTsport is a placeholder for the main game then I hope those who purchase GTSport are upgraded for free to GT7.

I would expect nothing less for a placeholder.

Overnight i have rationalized the news we had and I am pretty disappointed. I hadn't high hopes, considering how bad were gt5 and gt6, but you know you always hope for something new. At the end i came down to:

MAIN PRO
- graphic
- cockpit view for all cars
- livery editor
- missions mode (i like the challenge of being forced to drive different cars under specific conditions)

MAIN CONS
- fake cars with no-sense mixing
- public roads as tracks
- sound is terrible
- lifeless racing atmosphere (it looks more focused on taking pictures in beautiful landscapes)
- "online to be the main part"
- do not really see anything new making it appealing compared to other games

Given that, i decided to invest my money on Assetto Corsa which overlaps with GT (missions career mode, especially time trials) but for me it's way more appealing (e.g. tracks and cars). A i said few posts ago i tried it in Ferrari Museum in Maranello as they use it for their simulators.

I will buy GTS with a price reduction when i won't have anything else to play just because i like driving games.

I won't really comment further because i'm already seeing people starting fanboy vs haters stuffs.. driveclub vs gt and so on.. really child things.

Thanks to all the guys here sharing info and pics.
Have a nice week-end

They forgot to add a game.
Really? Last time I checked Driveclub had a 20 hour plus campaign with incredible DLC support that added more than 60 hours worth of events on top of that. Then, they also added a full sub-game inside the base game adding another 15 hours or so of content. If 95 hours of racing doesn't constitute having a game, I'm struggling to see what would.

Eh I feel that need for speed has an actual target audience. DC is just drifting through space, waiting to pick up the occasional straggler.
2,000,000 of those 'occasional stragglers' picked up Driveclub, how many bought Need for Speed on PS4?

GT series, in my opinion, is the best place to race! And yesterday I saw everything I need to know before I''ll buy GTS in November when it comes out. I'm so excited, I already love GTS! So keep it up PD, your hard work is
appreciated from die hard GT fan like me and others! Have a wonderful day to everyone!

I had to clear up my mind and went to sleep. So about the event.. it was bad, then in turned into sad and after a while it became hilarious. Watching Jordan uncomfortable trying to praise the game and overlooking the obvious flaws was really something. I think the youtube guy might have been the best part about the event for me.
So what has changed and improved: graphics slightly..photo mode (nice i guess), livery editor (personaly couldn´t care less)... ... Bravo PD, you´ve managed to embarasse yourselves even more and i have a feeling that this time, it will bite them really hard

But it is all the same! Just like GT6's campaign (except the dirt racing I guess. And, you know, 10 times the vehicle variation), I could, and did play the main camping, drive all the cars, and there it goes. Gained nothing from the experience apart from the anger I felt at that one guy who knocked me onto the curb.

Its GT6 with 10x less vehicles. Yeah, they look gorgeous, but not even the cars that are there feel apart from each other.

As I said, I gained nothing from Drive-club whatsoever, except you obviously did.

Oh wait no, I did finally get to drive an Exige and an F-type in a racing game. And take loads of photos. That's it though.

Couldn't you apply that logic to any racing game that isn't GT6 then? I'm not sure why you seemed to be expecting Driveclub to replace GT - It's an arcade racer with a pretty impressive car list. The only parrallel you can draw is that both franchises are('were' in Driveclub's case) Sony first party products. I don't think either could be bought in replacement of the other.

If you don't enjoy DC that's fair enough, a good few people didn't with valid reason. However, it just seems like your complaints levied against it aren't being presented as personal preference or against slightly strange criteria, like it not being as extensive as GT6.

Oh boy oh boy people, it seems as though nothing here has changed. I mean really? When there's no news there's complaints, and then when there is news and legit game footage, we still have complaints. If you do this all the time, your expectations will NEVER be met and you will be constantly moaning no matter what.

Anyway,
I simply cannot stop looking at the screenshots from this game. PD have stepped up AGAIN with the graphics and I have no reason to be upset. The sounds are way way way better than GT6 and to say that they are rubbish is highly offensive IMO. They actually sound like real engines and I struggle to find a sound which doesn't meet my standards. The Corvette sounds like a Corvette, the R8 sounds like an R8, the 458 sounds like a 458 and the 650 S sounds like a 650 S. Brilliant! The UI shown in the trailer has been shaken up greatly and I'm digging it. Can't wait to play this game.

I was comparing the fact that both have extremely basic campaign styles.

Hear hear! I couldn't agree more.

You serious?

Jordan was seemingly becoming unconformable/irritated because the Youtube guy, which most people watching the stream agreed did a poor job, wasn't pulling his weight and Jordan had to do all the heavy lifting.

Seriously, there was this one part where Jordan tried to give the YT dude an opportunity to provide some commentary on something (I don't remember what specifically), and the YT'er immediately passed it back to Jordan in a very reactionary way like it was a hot potato or something. I burst into tears of laughter when that happened...

You serious?

Uh... yeah? The game is flippin' gorgeous, the sounds are improved to a degree and the UI is drop dead gorgeous. What's there to be joking about?

Oh look the same people whining. I'm so surprised. I wonder if you guys have changed your schtick from GTS looks like GT6.

I hear ya, leaving everything else aside (collusion physics really suck) GTS looks really really good, especially the ring, the lighting is so natural and so is the foliage. When I first saw the ring on Forza 5, I was completely blown away by how good it look and the amount of work that had gone into making it. I never thought PD would put in the same kind of effort and refresh the look of the track but this looks amazing. There are consistency issues (that tokyo track looks so unrealistic/plain/lifeless) and the lighting on the oval track looks exactly like GT6, shadows map resolution is still a minor issue though.

Aside from that I also agree that graphics alone cant carry the game and overall GTS looks to be in trouble for a game that has to be out in 6 mths.

I am inclined to believe that people are so used to Forza's and DC's slightly cartoonish (but astoundingly beutiful mind you) graphical style that they have forgotten what the real world looks like.

I agree, although I personally don't think that the oval track looks like GT6, I definitely see a lighting improvement.

From what I've seen so far from offscreen footage and live-stream race, the game looks bit rough right now. Curious how this game perform on November (I mean, it's release day).

I have question on car selection, will Super GT cars be featured on this game?

Remembering 80 pages back the mood here was like back in the old days. But now, hah, times have changed, the forum has changed. Some peoples' attitudes towards PD and Kaz are so poisonous.
The trailer bug (the wall of trees which was corrected on the event build) is a good example of the negativity of some. At least they didn't bull shot, huh?

We have seen just the public beta folks! And few people realize the possibilities of the remarkable connection between PD and FIA.

Okay. Having slept on it, I think most of what I don't like was down to the races that were shown. With no consequence to crashing into each other or the scenery or tyre abuse having any consequence for that matter...

I did see, before the live stream, a phone stream of a race at brands hatch in a road car. I think that was against AI. The player didn't fly past them all at the start and when he went wide in turn one AI cars passed him. That has potential. If it was AI.

Them 137 cars though. With PD counting practice's..... that's not going to be many actual cars in reality

As for there is time to fix this, beta is final fix content wise. What you see now is what you'll get game wise.

Hopefully today will clarify a few things and then there's N24 and E3.

One thing that doesn't change though is the price. Full game money for hardly more that a prologue... No. Sale price maybe, full price. No.*

* Subject to a complete turn around if they've added El Capitan. Well they've put Seattle Short in so I can dream can't I?

I agree, for example the Tokyo track is so lifeless. No reflections, no human activity, the lighting is dull and the camera angles for replay very bad. But I like the idea of this track, it just needs more details and a NIGHT MODE!!
6 months left and so much work left.
By the way, people won't understand how Forza has 400 (500?) cars and 3 games on next gen while gtsport will only have 140 cars.
I wish the best to Poly because no other racing game has this passion IMO but I have big doubts for a November release with a polished game.
