By restricting, you mean I suggested they look simillar under dry conditions. And by worse, you mean not raining.

No, I mean that you're cherry picking what you'll put up against that GTS video so that you can come to the conclusion that you want to.

I added stuff to my previous post.

You mean this?

I do maintain, though, that that GTS video rivals dry Driveclub, which is why the similar PCARS video is quite a surprise to see. But as we know, PCARS rarely looks this good, which is why the question now is will GTS be able to look this good everywhere?

Have you actually bothered to play pCARS, or are you just tagging onto the general negativity surrounding it? pCARS has many problems, but looking bad isn't one of them. That video that I posted was absolutely a reasonable example of what the game looks like.

You're still trying to narrow the field so that you can conclude that GTS rivals the best or is the best looking game on PS4. It's a good looking game, but it's not particularly any better than any other major racing game this gen.

It is not, for example, like comparing GT5: Prologue to Forza Motorsport 2.

You guys have Driveclub? Driveclub is the best looking racing game I've ever seen, but photorealistic? The color saturation alone makes that a ridiculous claim.

You know you can adjust that, right? You can also make real photos and video look awful by messing with the colour settings.

Photo realistic ? Don't forget the display also plays a role, when you have HDTV not properly calibrated or has bad contrast/black level/color calibration, no matter how good DC or PCars or GTS or any PC game, it will look dull and less impressive than it should be.

I was surprised earlier on how much different the display can give impression even on GTS pictures. I looked at my laptop LCD then look the same picture on my plasma, the colors are more vibrant yet life like, optimal gamma, the contrast pops out the car like 3d effect, the black is black with no crush. Like looking at professional photographer print for exhibition or car brochures.

The lack of news or feedback from the event leads me to believe nothing that was planned is happening today.
Any news from London?

first impressions: potential is there. Force feedback and suspension physics need a little work.

From Pasm, also said graphics are great and aids can't be turned off.

Are we getting direct footage Michael?

It's easy but will take some time, 4-5 ish.

You think this isn't realistic? Even the DC devs themselves have admitted they went for photorealism.

You do? like I said, beautiful, and this gif does look more realistic than most other shots of the game. But it's still quite stylized.

That's a good point. I should mention that all of my tvs are professionally calibrated.

Perhaps. :sly:

Well, would you look at that: whether you're on the side of the fence proclaiming the game to look absolutely magic, or the side proclaiming it to look only moderately better than GT6 - neither side is wrong.

Then again what's being presented isn't representative of the final product that'll be available in November.

Is this single player versus online LAN? I suggested earlier if there are graphical differences between the two modes currently to ensure a more stable race for the online stream? Maybe?

It's from the same stream yesterday with Academy players where the Mercedes model was captured from.

Are you able to confirm the showfloor demo today is from a newer build compared to yesterday's?

I don't understand your edit? Did you post video somewhere or something?

Yeah, I totally agree. Especially if we're going to have endurance races. Mechanical damage would be good too, if only to discourage reckless driving. Heck, I don't even care about visual damage nearly as much as mechanical damage. For

Also, just to be sure, this isn't exactly GT7, right? It's larger than the prologue games, but not big enough to be a proper entry - is this correct?

For me is some kind of online GT game, of course it has a lot of elements which will be use in future GT game - probably GT7 in the end of 2017.

Summarise:

We need physics - at least Assetto Corsa level.
Day/Night Cycle + rain.
Much better damage model, especially mechanical. Please PD focus on that.

If they deliver this, they win, if not, they will be have last chance - GT7.

Simple.

BUT, I am optimistic. We still have PC, Dirt on PS4, in few months we get Assetto Corsa. Good times. :)

Well after catching only the first half hour of the livestream and now having watched the rest, I doubt I'll be able to actally read through over 50 pages of everyone's impressions.. (or the many depressions).. I scanned through and clearly, high negativity had to arise and make a game so beautifully presented with staggering amounts of new content, seem like it's all a pile of dung. Typical. This is the first glimpse with a lot more to come people..

What bothers me the most? Well clearly we still have a physics problem as it stands. There's still a magical force that's keeping the car glued to the ground under certain circumstances that would absolutely have a car breaking loose in RL. The drivers.. ya, they were nowhere near as clean and mature as I had hoped, I think a good portion of this community has had far more exciting, pinpoint accurate and highly sportsman like racing online.

The biggest thing is, and I saw a bunch of comments about the tire squeal being too annoying, I personally have been a fan of GT's tire squeal as it's extreamly important to have that slightly overbearing sound relative to RL in a sim, which in my opinion is better than Forza PCars and AC. The problem is, it never ends and during fast changing track chamber or generally quick weight shifts from wrong steering input the cars inherit this F1 downforce ability out of nowhere to keep sticking, moving in this unrealistic rapid left to right / right to left motion, is what's keeping things from being realistic and race with perfect lines and finesse. Right now you can do what you can in GT6 and get away with it. So probably still a tire model issue in short.

Even in GT6 if you pay close attention to how you drive and and how fast you dive into corners, there IS a way to drive a turn perfect and fast without having the tires squeal from start to finish, and driving like that is what would represent how you'd drive in real life. Maybe with new fresh rubber you could pull that off a couple dozen times (or if you've been good on the tires a few corners or extreme breaking when it counts throughout the total tire-life), but again, that's gotta change and would produce much more clean proffessional driving game.

Anywho, a bit of a ramble, I'm am otherwise hyped about the game, lot of wonderful work that's gone into the photomode and the impeccable modelling/lighting throughout... there are clearly stacks of content they're currently working on or have completed we will still see over the next while..

Sounds to me like it looks amazing on certain things and not so amazing on others aspects.

Kind of the story of Gran Turismo since GT5.

I thought the oval looked distinctly unfinished - obviously repeated textures (rust drips on the barriers stood out most), plain coloured trucks in the middle, etc.

Well, I can say that I think both GTS and DC look visually stunning, but so far they also look pretty different visually too. which is odd...

Yeah that stood out as a sore sight for me too, oddly the nurburgring looked dated and unfinished on the trailer but looked a lot better in the stream :/

60fps game never will be look as good as 30fps game. What I saw so far, GT Sport is the best looking SIM game at the moment, plus they still untouchable in lighting and details - cars. DC is the best looking game overall.

They show us BETA. Now we need wait and get the feedback from the people who had the pleasure to play this BETA. Just to remember yesterday and today build are different.
