Oh my lord this game looks gorgeous.

A couple of things from those vids:

Menu music is Forza-esque. Still calming, but much more modern. I love it đź‘Ť

The Audi snap oversteer in Turn 4 Willow is still very reminiscent of GT6's dodgy MR physics. Not good.

AI still plows through you if you're sitting on their line.

Sound is still the same hollow single channel mediocrity in GT6. The Golf VGT he passed sounds pretty good though.

I've also been reading that the graphics are purposefully held back because they need to maintain 60 FPS on VR, and the PS4 just isn't strong enough to do that while also showing off eye candy. Yet another disappointment as GT is being held back because of gimmicks. I really hope PS4 Neo can unleash the true potential of GTS' graphical engine. PD really needs to take Forza's lead and release on PC (not gonna happen with Sony though).

EDIT: The MX5 video a couple pages back is pretty good. The suspension moves around a lot more in the consecutive esses. Tyres still looks like they are sliding too much though.

It's a bit hilarious these comparisons between GTS and Driveclub. Meaning how disastrous and flamed the DC's first miles were. GTS has a fine start compared to DC's. But of course, DC's epilogue was brilliant. It's a great game, don't get me wrong. I still enjoy it.

Well poor starts happen to the best of them, I didn't play GT5 until it reached Spec 2 ;)

It's hilarious to think that DC should be off the table for comparisons, it is what it is - now, not what it was at launch.

IF there is a new PS4, they will need something honestly much more powerful to maintain graphics fidelity and VR with the 60fps.
I've been reading supposedly the specs for the new version and nope, not planning to buy it. Not planning to buy either way, my PS4 isn't even a year old so, nope.
But, if Sony is really thinking about it it will be not only bad for the gaming community I think but, also, the jump wouldn't be as good as it could be.

GT5P sold 5.35 million.
GT's across generational gaps have always had a lower amount of cars and tracks due to remodelling. CHeck the number of cars GT3 had or number of premiums GT5P had for instance.

Hmm, I forgot GT3's count. GT4 was the one that went well over GT2's count. GT5, however, did have many more than GT4.

The number of tracks went up every time, for the main games, even across generations.

GT5P is the only non-main game (PSP excluded) to sell much more than 1 million. But it's a good point - I don't understand why that sold so well, so maybe I'm wrong about GTS.

Just counting premiums? You would't go far in marketing :)

So what were seeing is 50% of the quality they're shooting for. So, I guess that means that GT Sport will look twice as good as it does now at release. Eh, I won't worry about that and just wait for E3 or whenever else the next GT Sport showing is.

Wrong again. GT3 had less tracks than GT2.

Aaaaalllrighty then: my album of photos from the Copper Box yesterday, which was lit... atmospherically... which made photography, shall we say, a challenge. Getting the white balance right was a bit like nailing Paddock Hill Bend, and happened about as often.

@Tom in full Murray Walker mode, and later on receiving praise for his commentary from Kaz:

@AJ filming @Jordan during the first race around the Nordschleife:

@Tidgney with his race face on, and afterwards debriefing with Nick McMillen and co:

@daan pod racing, and @Scaff on stage:

Kaz answering @nowcontrol's question about TVR, and Tom interviewing Jordan after his race:

@PASM and @JacoJa meet Kaz at the end:

Kaz's presentation:

The PD team:

And lastly, there were a few cars there. The ticket included a short ride in one of a selection of high end sports cars, and you could choose which one if you asked... but I didn't know this until afterwards, so mine was in the most boring of the cars on offer, an AWD F-type coupe. The soft top was being driven by stuntdriver Terry Grant. It spent most of its time sideways. As others have mentioned, various models of Vision GT cars were on display inside.

That's less than half the photos I've uploaded - the rest can be found through this underlined text here.

Is it just me or does the tire-squeal actually sound good here?

Watch closely in the video above. You can see reflection. Even the rear view mirror has reflection on the windshield.

That's really odd, now i'm confused, that Audi R8 Footage by GTPlanet was the Copper Box Build?

Amazing photos! I never noticed the FIA reservations :D!

Considering that there has been little news on GT Academy these past few days, has it occurred to anyone else that GT Sport can replace GTA all together, sort of absorbing it? Doesn't make much sense for GTA to exist if the FIA thing lives up to its promises.

I'm not sure if it'll make it to console or not but the pc version comes with various post processing filters built in. They very the dynamic range, hue, tint, colour palette etc. Au natural, photomode, retro, sepia (I think) and others. Running around in the Lotus 49 on the classic version of Monza or the Nurburgring in black and white is much cooler than I thought it would:lol:. I need a leather helmet, goggles and a big scarf to flesh out the experience:sly:
Just like it was in your younger years eh Johnny? ;)

Is it me or does this look like a bunch of troopers manning their battle stations in a Sci Fi movie? You can say about the game what you want, but presentation wise GT always delivers đź‘Ť

T12, let me ask you, did you guys have the chance to ask real questions? Politely, but real. Let me explain, Is like everyone is so charmed by Kaz that no one dares to ask him "hard" stuff, like, ok, Kaz, the event is amazing and all, but you've been promising better sounds and a lot of other things for years, we all know that takes time, but, how do you feel about it? We keep buying your games because we love them but this is getting almost "annoying". I mean, I'd not ask quite like that, but, you know, that sort of thing.
Anyway, cheers.

That's sharing an opinion, not asking a tough question. The question is just a pretext so that you can say that you are annoyed, and you're not really asking him anything meaningful.

It's just you. Kidding! It's more muted in cockpit view and I think it's not as pronounced in cars that aren't cornering with as many g's. I wonder what the FOV is in that cockpit view. Looks a little more realistic than the usual tunnel vision FOV you get in a GT game but my eyes could be tricking me.
Wow! The tire-squeal is perfect here!
Not quite. Still too loud in cockpit view, too high pitched and the tires are squealing even with small steering adjustments on the front straight.
