What's concerning for me is that I keep hearing we are targeting 60 fps for GTS, yet if I understand correctly Sony made it very clear that 60 fps is the absolute minimum for a game to run PS VR.

GTS is supposedly a PS VR launch title yet at this point we're still seeing drops in the framesrate (albeit a demo build of the game), and Kaz isn't saying it will be 60 fps. The way I see it, one of two things have to happen: GTS will have 60 fps at launch in November or GTS will be delayed until it has 60 fps.

Yeah that is kinda key eh. I can't wait to try GT in VR, but if the dodgy frame rate makes me sick, then :(

(also, St.Kitts? You lucky bar-steward!)

It's not just the trolls there was a eurogamer article about how it looks like gt6.
Already 2 articles from Eurogamer and I think this last one is pure trolling, i expect better from profissional sites. We all know that sounds in gt still need to improve even more, framerate has to be 60fps consistent because this game is VR compatible and we all want more realism, but this thing is probably on alpha stage at this point.

This is GTPlanet, so of course graphics will be a tell tale sign of how good a game will be at the end of the day.

It's strange how some try to justify the fumbling of one of the biggest racing franchise. MY guess is that this game will be used as a photography and gif tool instead of mainline racing.

Sorry, but I think you are wrong... With FIA partnership? Dude, sky is the limit.

Good joke! ;) FM6 is even more arcade'ish than FM5. In fact, DC in hardcore mode, its not too far from FM6 in the physics terms. FM from FM3 is going to more casual racing players. GT Sport its still not 100% in my taste. I was expecting a more professional approach to the topic - FIA licenses. I went in a direction different racing classes GT3 / DTM / Rally etc. in mainly online mode. Plus retained in this magical space which GT has - GT is an interactive encyclopedia of the automotive industry (So I will be mix GT4/GT5/GT6 in arcade mode).
So it's either you've actually never played the games you're comparing, or you just quite literally don't know what either of the games physics pertain to. I wouldn't be surprised if its both.

Such a huge step back and disappointment to me there's no dynamic day and night cycle. Absolutely baffling they threw away one of the best and immersive aspects of GT5&6 while on a much more powerful console that's easier to develop for. :banghead:

CPU doesn't matter. Shadow rendering and its quality is entirely on the GPU. And guess what, GTS still has ugly shadows that pop in. They're still real-time, so it's baffling they'd go with non-baked shadows and its drawbacks and still don't have dynamic time of day.

Went backwards? I'm not so sure. I think backwards would be putting in features that are just going to cause the game to run efficiently. If anything, trying to get features like this to work on past gen on such a demanding game, was overly ambitious. If you follow the current gen market, and watch what racing games that run in a similar nature as GTS, and notice what they have and haven't been able to do even on current hardware, then the step makes a good bit of sense. A step towards quality is always a step forward.

That's an excuse for the dumbing down of Gran Turismo?

With the scope of this game, the sky box is the limit. Basically, I'm guessing that Sony and PD are releasing this game so that other racing games can't take the spotlight completely. This is a "Hey, look at me, I'm still cool." kind of release.

They're rushing this out for the sake of competition.

That's your opinion.

I don't think that was their intention. I think at it's core GTS has some really good ideas and could be a shot in the arm to the genre. However, the more I see of it the more I believe they are not going to achieve what they set out to do. So yes they are going to push the game out because they almost have to, but once again it's not going to be what it could or should have been.
