NO DYNAMIC TIME CHANGES?!?!?!?!

What the hell? They keep going backwards.

The sounds still aren't up to stuff.
The A.I. still looks braindead.
The online gameplay still looks glitchy.

What the hell are they doing?

Now before you go: but dude it's a work-in-progress: Think. Realize that GT has always had these very issues and they're still not fixed! What makes you think they'll be fixed when it comes out? Because Kaz said so? He's said so many things.

The game also won't have a normal SP mode, because it looks like it'll be geared towards making you ready for online racing.

This actually could be the lightest GT game we've ever had (for its time).

I'm so ****ing disappointed!
Can't disagree with You about dynamic time change.... I was a little suprise about it.. But well, we dint yet know how the game will looks in future. Maybe, just maybe their will be some future updates, that would change it.. Who knows...

Wasn't the move from Ps3 to Ps4 supposed to make things a lot easier for them?

So what exactly is holding them back from keeping dynamic time in?

This looks like GT6 on Ps4 but with a lot less content.

Remember the ugly shadows and fps drops? That's what. And people forget that ps4 has a weak cpu (while cell was/is a beast) and developers are allocating some load on the gpu.

Such a huge step back and disappointment to me there's no dynamic day and night cycle. Absolutely baffling they threw away one of the best and immersive aspects of GT5&6 while on a much more powerful console that's easier to develop for. :banghead:

CPU doesn't matter. Shadow rendering and its quality is entirely on the GPU. And guess what, GTS still has ugly shadows that pop in. They're still real-time, so it's baffling they'd go with non-baked shadows and its drawbacks and still don't have dynamic time of day.

This has got me a bit worried in regards to the safety rating.

So if someone takes you out and it's not your fault your safety rating will drop because a computer can't tell whose fault it is so you both get pinged. That's really going to work in todays online world.

That's how it works in iRacing too. It does work, you just have to be able to accept that you're going to be in a certain minimum number of incidents no matter how safe you are. The point is to be able to separate safe drivers from window lickers, and it does that.

I'm sure you have been in public lobbies for console racing games. They are nothing like iracing. People in iracing lobbies are there because they want to race and have invested a significant amount of money into it. Quite a few people in public lobbies for console are there to ruin other peoples fun.

We get those in iRacing too. Apart from the reporting system which tends to hand out progressively longer bans for actual malicious driving, the nature of the license system tends to restrict the retards to the lower license grades. It takes a lot of clean driving to advance, but only a few really dirty races to drop down, and people get kicked after a certain amount of incident points per race so there's a limit to how much damage one person can inflict on any one race. And damage on means a couple of big hits and their car is probably wrecked too.

It still sucks sometimes, but it's about as good as it gets. If you go to the iRacing forums you'll see the same complaints about people not being able to get out of rookie because they're getting crashed all the time, but the reality is that it works, it's just that some days you'll be very unlucky.

If you are aware and cautious a no fault system of driver rating can work. I've been through a few in iRacing, Grid and Assetto Corsa and it's simply a matter of being much more aware of what is happening around you and taking fewer risks. Drive it much like you would a real car basically. Problem is, will the casual fans be aware and cautious and will they enjoy it if they are? And if they aren't aware and cautious will they be relegated to racing with the other potato drivers all the time? Will they even understand what is going on or will they just give up in frustration?

This rather hits the nail on the head:
For the dedicated, and for those in thrall to motor racing, Gran Turismo Sport's shaping up to be quite the proposition. For the rest? There's not so much, and Sport's particular pursuit looks to come at the expense of its broader appeal. Time was you could rely on Gran Turismo to be a centrepiece for PlayStation, a technical showcase that would sell you on the power of its host hardware. Even taking into account the seven months left of development before the November release of Gran Turismo Sport, it's fair to say that's no longer the case.

My main worry is that some people seem intent on spoiling it for everyone else, they set out to create as much mayhem as possible, it's how they get their kicks. How do you deal with those people? They'll get banned eventually, hopefully quickly, but what's to stop them creating a new account? Can they ban IP's? Like I said i don't think there is any magic bullet.

@Johnnypenso, I hold you in quite high regard due to your reasoning and post quality, but since you got your Sith Holocron (PC) you've gone a bit darkside.;)

Since Friday you've gone full Knight Of Ren, slaying younglings lol:D

Most of the time these people get bored, and unless they are specifically targeting one person, they get kicked before they can put any significant damage on an innocents reputation.

They really don't get bored. If they did it wouldn't still be a problem in public lobby racing, which it still very much is. Don't underestimate the pull of spoiling other peoples fun for some people.

Nice vid, see if you can get the person that uploaded it the also upload it to Gamersyde so we can see it in it's full glory. Still baffled as to why PDI don't want people to watch footage like that.

Also, miles better than their own trailer. And this seems to be running in 'attract' mode on their own build too (from 20th May).

Weird as.

This footage is incredible.

So in an ironic twist of fate GTS is seemingly going to have the exact same issues that people roasted Forza 5 and Forza 6 for. Low car count, no dynamic weather/TOD and overall lack of content. Only difference is GTS isn't a launch title, it's launching in late 2016.

I promise you, this sort of person is not going to be playing a sim racing game online getting kicked and banned to the point at which they need to make a new account for very long at all.

Only difference is GTS will have VR support and is being ambitious with its e-Motorsport stuff.

If the system works properly, if, then those people will be relegated to lobbies with like minded people pretty quickly. I doubt if they'll be banned but you never know. They might be able to create a new account and continue on but I doubt many will have the fortitude to just continue racing and getting punted. There are easier games to troll in.

It's the law of averages at work. Just making up numbers here but you'll get the idea. Say you have a race with 9 clean drivers and 1 troll. Unless the troll runs into the same person over and over, they are going to spread out their incidents over a number of drivers. The troll might get 10 points in a race and a handful of others 1 or 2. Next race same thing and so on and before you know it the troll has so many points they can only race with other trolls.

It does work you just have to give it time. It's not perfect, you will take some hits you don't deserve but if you stick with it the law of averages kick in and you'll be fine.

(fingers crossed):scared:

Public lobbies have few consequences and no memory. Kind of the whole purpose of the driver rating system. It never forgets:sly:

I'm with the Eurogamer guy on this, sure it aint perfect, but it's different and eccentric, and trying some new things.

Plus, I don't care what anyone says, it looks sick.

I just find it amusing that GT is going to get a free pass on these things from the same people who laughed at and ridiculed the other game for doing the exact same thing. HOW DARE FM6 not have dynamic weather/TOD, GT6 already had it on PS3 they cried. Certainly going to be some egg on faces.

It looks good, but so has every GT game (in the right scenarios). Personally unless they show some drastic changes in gameplay and content I'll be skipping GTS and waiting for GT7. I don't think I'll be alone.

It's definitely not a London demo. How?

It is a Copper Box build, check the date.

I won't and never have slagged off Forza for that. Sounds a bit troll-ish.
But yeah, fair on the rest. Personally, I'm well excited by this though (despite the obvious flaws), and I fully intend to also buy AC when it launches.
