We're heading down the "PS4 can't do dynamic time and weather, it's not PDs fault" route, I can feel it.
I'm definitely on the fence about the situation. Pcars failed pretty bad in that department, but that can likely just boil down to the devs priorities. AC is just around the corner, so I'm hopeful that they can show everyone how to get it done.

Does weather change is so important to GT? To me it did almost nothing in GT5, regarding how it was implemented (graphics, and game-play wize)

Pretty low in comparison to what?

PS3 - 25.6 GBps
PS4 - 176 GBps

Don't know how it hit's bottleneck so quickly but alpha effects and AF is a problem on current gen. Maybe it's because 60fps.

Now it's GT not doing it, I imagine it won't be that big a problem to many people.

That didn't answer my question.

And that could have been different had they not canceled the beta, right? There are just concerns within this thread, but just because one troll strolls through every once in a while doesn't make it right to single everyone with criticism into one lump. They showcased this so we can make judgement in the first place.

And like I said, being ambitious means nothing if the end product doesn't deliver. As it sits, we don't know yet, so the only one lying to themselves right now is you. Lets all wait to see how this happens
Just look at the nascar, top gear and rally content of GT5.
But can we just wait november before destroying the whole game?
Does the same apply to those with high praises for the game or is this exclusive to those with valid concerns, because i haven't seen anyone trying to calm them down with warnings that some games get downgraded.

It is all the fault of the FIA.

CPU for example is much stronger in PS3. (Physics. AI.)
The CPU isn't much stronger.

Very weird them not getting ToD/Weather to work. The value proposition of GTS seems to decrease with every new detail revealed.

Funny you mention that, because I feel the entire genre is offering little to the majority of console owners. The sales for the current generation of games haven't exactly been off the charts.

No wonder why Driveclub runs only in 30 fps, because they put so much I candy stuff basically. But enough for that!
My general thoughts about driving games is that, that mostly driving games like forza, AC etc etc... are only arcade games, I'm played them all, and I can feel that. just one game is really for professionals and it's GT. It feels realistic to play, the physics are always amazing to me. They (PD), put so much effort on details. I love it, and I will always love Gt series, because thats the only one driving game that inspires me to race in real life! Long live GT! Peace!

Time change and weather change is awesome in Driveclub but that's at 30fps.Still it's disappointing Pd couldn't figure something out maybe they want us to upgrade :)

That didn't answer my question.

I didn't have a definite answer. But even weaker PC GPU's doesn't have such problems in years, especially for AF. 176gb/s is for overall memory (RAM and VRAM combined).
I don't know how to explain low resolution shadows in UC4, TLOU, etc.

Well, I'm not sure if there's any way to reinvent the genre, GTS is trying it with eSports, but it sounds like a fad already.

Not far behind: "PS5 will provide all the power that's ever needed to realize the ultimate GT vision."

I played GT6 for the first time in a capacity outside of doing TOTW stuff last night. It definitely doesn't match up visually with current-gen games (as expected, really, so no marks against it there), but I've been spoiled by locked frame rates. Heading online to a track day at the 'Ring was awful, as the game was almost chopping the framerate in half as I drove by the pit exit, lined with a few cars. It really messes with my responses, and I wish I was one of those people that could either overlook it, or didn't notice.

But since PS4's release, with Kaz' insistence on both it being a blank canvas, and PS3 being the limiting factor with GT6, I've always assumed the first PS4 GT game would make 60fps and dynamic time/weather a priority. Everything else would take a backseat: so what if the graphics weren't the leaders in the genre (though, given PD's knack for lighting, they wouldn't be far behind, even if they looked close to GT6).

Model quality didn't need to improve, especially with AT. We were told all the work put into the Premiums made them PS4-ready anyway, so there really wasn't a worry there. Yet, now we hear they were all scrapped, a strange about-face after the PS3 generation saw the PS2 assets used as a crutch – and the PS3 Premiums surely are closer to GTS' model quality than the Standards were to Premiums.

You know what they say about assumptions, though.

"AC (is a) arcade game."
"Just one game is really for professionals and it's GT."

Given the hit they gave the frame rate in GT5 I would be inclined to agree, but when they are done without that hit (DC and PCars) then it makes a huge difference. While I would not consider it a deal breaker (its not for AC), it is a tick in the negative column.

Really?

I've seen it done perfectly well in a good number of PS4 titles, in both racing and non-racing titles.

It reaching 1080p and 60 fps that causes problems just look at battlefront or battlefield 4 they are running at 900p 60fps.
