I was ok with GTS not having dynamic weather but I am very disappointed there will be no dynamic time. Driving Circuit de la Sarthe or Nurburgring Nordschleife through a sunset for example was wonderful and I will certainly miss it come November.

Graphically GTS is looking quite beautiful and borderline photo-realistic. I am still looking forward to it and I just hope the AI is rebuilt and bad news about the livery editor being restricted to cars with 3 wheels or something doesn't crop up.

I do like the BMW M6 GT3 Kazunori is racing during the Nurburgring 24h. Hint hint...

I am pretty sure I've seen the stock model in game. Most likely it'll have a GR.3 mod which comes very close to the real thing.

To those saying DC looks good only some of the time.

The easiest way to quell comments of "Driveclub isn't impressive": stick a GT watermark on it.

Suddenly, some folks will have a whole different opinion.

I don't think by saying GTS's lighting model seems better, and not by much, is slagging off DC, at all.

Driveclub is, for me, the most impressive game I have ever played, graphically. In any genre.

Just so we're clear :)
Don't worry jm, I think that most would agree that GT does something very special when it comes to lighting.

I wonder if the 30fps less makes the whole difference.

Considering how often GT couldn't hit 60fps, I have no idea.

Honestly, I'm not surprised that the usual suspects – the ones that are 99% sure of how a game will perform at release, or that refer to DC as "cartoony" – would rank GTS at the top of the pile. There is absolutely no attempt at objectivity there, and never will be.

Personally, I think it looks great in current working conditions, but I wouldn't call it the best. There's peaks and valleys (the new Tokyo track looks positively drab), and I think consistency is just as important as cherry-picked ideal brief moments.

I say the three foundations of a racing game needs to be physics, sound, and AI, in that order. GT has pretty pronounced physics, so their foundation needs to focus on Sound, AI, and damage, in the order that needs the most improvement to solidify the base. Sound needs to be amplified for a more stronger, bolder, and bassy feel which which make the sound naturally louder. The AI should be agressive enough to take some advantages and risks and know that you are in a certian proximity and around each other. The damage needs to be focused more on the cosmetic, with more realistic intense damage at multiple angles of the car and internal damage being more specific to certain parts of the internal mechanisms.

Hi guys I'm new here nice to meet you all, but to weigh in on the graphics debate. To the guys who say they don't like Driveclub's graphics, are you really talking more about the aesthetics of the game because there is no denying the game is technically amazing?

Welcome to GTP. :gtpflag:

And to some people, GT bias gets in the way of appreciating other gaming series. It's either one, or the other to them.

Welcome Izuna! No doubt some don't like the aesthetic, however, others may have other motives. What's your impression of GTS after watching the reveal?

Just to +1 @Brend 's DC shout - £7.40??

If that's right(?) and you don't own it, jeez, get on that!
Indeed, not sure you could find more value in £7.40 anywhere else 👍

I've convinced my friend to buy an PS4 by showing him DC and telling that GT will be even better. Its good that he's not an expert in those things ;)

Sorry, @SlipZtrEm - I will stop with the guerrilla advertising now.

You are always welcome to sing the song of your people. :D

Ending the DC story on my side I didn't like two things, one was a "grainy" filter always on, and second weirdly muffled sounds. But hey it's just me.
