Gran Turismo Sport: General Discussion

I'm not saying GT4 wasn't a good game, I just don't see how the orchestral version of a song (which to me is overrated) is somehow a reason to expect this game to be as good. I'm really failing to see how the use of this song is PD expecting GT Sport to be as good as GT4. Just seems like an odd and far reaching thought to gleam from a simple E3 Trailer (which is supposed to be hypetastic).

How about we put this case to rest as this is kind of an unnecessary discussion. I don't think I'm going to convey my point across as clear as I was hoping and it is not a big deal, so let's move on, shall we?

I may have missed some discussion about the "Gas" and "Safety" meters.

My guess is they function very similarly to the Badges in FM6, judging by the three tiers. Hit some pre-determined number, pop an achievement. The Safety one is a bit of a mystery: if I had to guess based on the emblem, it's awarded for a lack of contact.

Re: Scapes ^^ I agree, I think this has saved a great deal of time designing lots of 3d photo travel locations. It is a great idea to have a random choice of global 1000 photo real backgrounds to choose from and with shutter speed moving pic option, multiple cars now available on screen and custom made different livery/decal designs that could lead to 120,000 - 500,000 different opportunities alone with all the different cars!

The Scapes will be 'great for everyone' to produce high quality easy still photo realistic shots without too much knowledge or experience and initially this will take over and most will post these.

I think in time after a month or two the real 'creative shots' from GT regulars will still come from the replay and 'free'ish camera on track with the upgraded cars and graphics and filters this will give much more freedom for GTP competitions etc

I'm confident it won't look exactly like that since that is an official Ford Performance car, not PD's.

That Safety one is going to be extremely tricky, if there are online rooms.

It was a context issue but more so the way your "joke" posts line up exactly like your serious ones. You also threw in winks in the other discussion when you told people that they shouldn't be allowed to post negatives unless they throw in a positive. Your winks are used more often followed after you post some snide witty remark. If this was a joke then it would be up to you to make it resemble such, since it looks no different than when you get into these discussions in the first place.

But please, don't forget to show me the post that you where referring to, the one where I've been apparently trying to hault people, like you do, so I can start practicing what I preach.
This dude still replyin :sly: I love how people on the internet can tell you what you mean when you post. Breaking it down on my emoticon usage and all! I mean, you must have taken some time to research my commenting style to have it seemingly all figured out. But nah, you're still wide the mark. So it's probably best we do like I was saying for greatbee's comment "let it go".

I wonder if any new cars will be shown at E3 and be playable. Since we saw that Mustang on the trailer, I hope to have a surprise shown to us in some gameplay.

Hmmm, I wonder for Scapes if PD used a 360 degree camera. At least if you use that kind of camera, it would be stationary but you could turn the camera around and see a whole 360 view of the environment.

I imagine they'd have to otherwise the reflections and lighting would be funky. It may be that they only did one direction in high res and then just kinda filled in the rest, but I figure if they're on location already with the gear to do one good photograph they might as well do a bunch and capture the whole scene.

"full box"?

And you can't say IQ has changed from compressed videos nor do I see better textures, just different ones.

"Box" isn't the right word, maybe. My English is not good, yet :(

Regarding IQ, we notice more when we play directly on the TV. You're right.

But we can easily see improvement. Ditto for textures. This is clear on barrier, for example.

Hmm Forza 6 : no links with the FIA and there are V8 supercars, Indycar, IMSA, LMP1.
GTsport : the first game to be officialy linked with the FIA : Bugatti VGT against and a "GT3" Peugeot VGT without wing mirrors!? I don't expect anything from this FIA partnership.

To be fair IMSA and Indycar aren't FIA related, but that has been my point with me not expecting to see a series in a GT game.

Just because a race series doesn't have "FIA" in front of it doesn't mean that it is not related to the FIA. ALL motorsport worldwide is sanctioned by the organisation, so it's all related.

...Really? First time I've heard about such a thing. Can anyone elaborate further?

I think there's been a mix-up of messages with this involvement of FIA in GT:S. Initially, I thought this whole thing meant that we would see real life FIA-endorsed/sanctioned races emulated in the game form, but after seeing it and reading the info, I believe that wasn't PDI's intention at all.

Instead, PDI was going to create new, online-centric racing "championships" that were to be rubber-stamped by the motorsport federation, thus earning the much-coveted "legitimacy" in the eyes of the general public.

It's okay, I ain't even mad, bro...
