GTS not appearing in the press conference is made all the more stranger when you see how relatively well Forza Horizon 3 did in terms of buzz...I hope Sony don't botch the marketing of GTS or it may struggle to hit 5 million units:

Wouldn't make too much of it, a more accurate barometer is seeing which videos of the trailers get more views.

Did you see the latest trailer direct from the GT site?
I'd be interested to know if that changes your mind about GTS or not...
Since I do not race online, it is totally irrelevant how impressive the game looks or how good the physics are.

Ah, sorry mate, I thought you'd seen it.
This is the one I'm talking about: http://www.gran-turismo.com/us/news/00_4882315.html (also for @Tired Tyres perhaps?)

(huge download mind!)
Well the problem here is that really isn't a trailer, but quite literally direct feed of the gampley. The misuse of the word is what caused the confusion. I thought you where talking about the one from the 10th.

How do u not race online, does AI seem lifeless???
By not going to the online section of a game. Although, this game is probably not the one to get if you're a person that avoids online play.

How so? Seems like the same amount of arbitrary information in terms of how much more useful it could be.

I think it's a better to way to measure interest, how many people keep watching gameplay videos of a certain game I feel is more accurate than someone tweeting game X looks cool.

So you mean a cumulative total across multiple videos for various games? That would definitely be a bit better than the simple gauge shown in the chart but it's really not a pressing enough matter to create that is it?

I thought you meant in terms of simple views of trailers against each other, which would be just as in-depth as the Twitter sample above.

The thing is with that though, is that a view can range from the page just being open for a few seconds, it's not taking into consideration who does or doesn't like the game, who does and doesn't have interest. Sure, people can go out of their way to point out negatives about a game in a tweet, effectively making it pop up in the same search, but its all so much easier to have a count messed up for a video rather than a tweet, I would imagine.

But someone tweeting Game X looks terrible is probably measured as interest here.

You where suggesting that the lack of sales was down to eveyone dropping the PS3 for the PS4. I stated why that can't be the case. You are looking forward to this game. Good for you. I hope it lives up to your expectations. I really do. I just can't look at it like that anymore.

A PS3 game isn't as exciting as a PS4 game. That fact can easily account for a couple of million sales.

Yes

But like I said, a video takes in that, as well as anything in between. Someone could have left Youtube open and it could have went to that video next. Someone doesn't accidentally tweet about a game unknowingly. The results will be much more skewed if you just use the video views.

I don't think there's much truth to that. There still N64, and Sega games that people can find more exciting than newer gen games. Hell, the old Resident Evil games where much more exciting than the Blockbuster-action-movie-Michael Bay-Rip off that they've seemed to turn into of late.

( and @sems4arsenal ) Like I said, there's no such thing as bad publicity. People talking about something in any way means it's in the spotlight. It can be interpreted the exact same as a view on a video, I can watch a video on the new Ghostbusters movie - it doesn't mean it's a positive endorsement but Sony still get the proof I viewed it.
