That's microtransactions, which is sure as hell not the same thing as DLC.
I know but the point is PD/Sony aren't above (overpriced) paid content so we don't really know what's in store for GT Sport. Kaz has said there will be DLC and I believe suggested both paid and free content, hopefully any paid content will be priced sensibly.

I'm still waiting for PD to put in a realistic traction control system. Driving a LaFerrari with TC on 1 will bottleneck the car and driving with no TC will be a disaster. We need options for normal, sport, track like on actual supercars. Otherwise it'll be near impossible to get realistic handling that isn't DRIFT DAY EVERY DAY BRO, DRIFT MY LAFERRARI ON COMFORT HARDS AT SUZUKA BRO!!!!!!111111!!

First time in the history of GTP I'm going to reference Assetto Corsa, Project Cars and the Wookie and it's potentially good news for Gran Turismo Fans:sly::

He's talking about Porsche by the way...

Thanks to @mister dog for providing the link to me.

Using off the shelf solutions instead of more time consuming starting from scratch solutions is called efficient resource management, something you have to do when you're a team of a dozen people with very limited resources. The end result being so brilliant with so limited resources is the very definition of good game development.

Which is why I said it was smart... But you cant call it brilliant, there are downsides to their development, ironically mostly with the bits they actually did do themselves. The graphics are great for PC but not up to console standards and the multiplayer is just terrible.

You say most Cars aren't Kunos models, which suggests more than 50% are not made by Kunos. Can you verify this as im interested to know or did you pluck this out of thin air?

Go do some reading. I provided the answer in the link in the post you quoted, you .... .....

There are downsides to any route one takes to development, the only exception being unlimited budgets. Multiplayer is terrible? While it's not quite as feature rich as GT or other console games, the quality of racing is far superior even in random lobbies and any Sim Racing System or Minorating lobby I've been in is almost as good as many of the league races I've run on any platform. The netcode also seems really stable as I'm able to race with guys with pings in 200's and 300's with little issue. None of that warp speed, disappearing stuff you see in GT for example.

Would it be that much of a problem if they gave us as paid DLC some of the premium cars from GT6, modeled from scratch? Of course it would make much more sense if they gave us for free, but wouldn't be that much of a bummer if, let's say, one of those cars came together with a pack of new cars as paid DLC...
Still, let's hope we get some free content through the life of GTS.

Guys Really i miss the standard cars....
I hope pd to give a change for those who want it
To download for free the standard cars from GT6..
Maybe as semipremium like the Yellow bird and other semipremium models from GT6..

Better call up the worlds manufacturers, tell them they can save a wad of cash on TCS systems, they just need to start marketing their cars to people with right feet.
If it's good enough for F1 to have banned TCS, it's good enough for GTS Drivers.

Play GT6 if you want to use them, or even the PS2 games they belong in. They're not going anywhere from those games. PD have moved on, they're not going to go back from this:

Move on. It's long overdue.

That makes no sense in the context of what was mentioned. Real F1 cars don't have TCS, no, so they can't use it. Real road cars do, so it would nice for it to be simulated properly, as an option.

LMP's, GT's and many other forms of racing use TCS so it NEEDS to be properly simulated.
The most popular form of racing in AC and PCars, as far as I can tell anyway, is GT3 class and GT3 cars come with traction control and ABS. ABS in GT5/6 was atrocious and it's far better implemented in other games.

Yeah, ABS too. I was just talking about TC but yeah, the ABS simulation was terrible.

The problem with ABS, TC and ASM in GT is it's a game related aid and not modelled to each car's specific systems. With previous GTs having 1000+ cars this is always going to be an issue modelling each system separately. With GTS having a much smaller number, I have high hopes it will be implemented properly this time. Not having SRF is a start

This is a good reason for the low car counting.
