I didn't remember GTSport being on Goodwood, let alone Failrace rekt Blackpantha in the time trial. Shows how i lost some interest in GTS over the time.

I could not be less surprised by the lap times of those two. The guy behind FR has shown a pretty significant amount of skill in his videos.

While everyone talking about PP system, i just noticed this...

Anyone know what car/track combo that is?

Damn it Theo. Improve your driving, fam xD

PP still being present depite the balanced classes leads me to believe that full customization/tuning and personalization will still be an option for the recreational modes and maybe some of the career. I wouldn't be surprised if the classic "bring what you've got" lobby system from GT5 and 6 will make a return in GTS on top of the offerings provided by the spec racing. I'd be super ok with that.

Just like SlipZtrEm said, I'm not suprised by results either... Failrace is a racing youtuber who actually has some skill and I really enjoy watching Failrace's vs the community videos, it's kind of predecessor to esport competitions and there is a lot of good racing in those videos... And Blackpantha? Well he's just an anoying screaming derp, his videos would be an effective torture method

PP of a car should be different for each track. No other way.

La Sarthe and Tsukuba favors totally different cars for example. Small and nimble car can battle it out with a heavier and more powerful car on Tsukuba but it would lose a tone of time on La Sarthe.
Maximum bhp, minimum weight. Tyres regulation. Done. Nothing else matters.

Some cars are just faster/slower than others. Either accept that or tune for balance. The problem with that? Tuning is to make your car faster not more equal usually.

It's just wishful thinking since Yamauchi is present at Pikes Peak.

Banners :) My guess is that is will be in Gran Turismo Sport with 3 variations ;) Gravel, Gravel/Tarmac and Tarmac.

During the press conference in 2015 where the Peugeot Vision GT was unveiled it was as well confirmed that the Peugeot 208 T16 from Loeb would appear in Gran Turismo. So a world record car without supporting track doesn't make a lot of sense....:odd:

That ridiculous Pike's peak Peugeot with the mega-spoiler would be ace.

Also, gone a bit quiet here recently. Maybe I should unblock mr essay man.

Banners were present last year as well, they're on every car at N24 and any other racing even GT sponsor. As always, it is in no way a direct indication of it's inclusion in game.

Although it does seem likely to come at some point, I'd just not expect that to be GTS, at least not at launch. DLC, more probably.

Oh and regarding the cars, there were already PP cars in GT6 without the track. Don't underestimate PD to do things that don't make sense.

Being 100% honest I'm not sure about neither Twin Peaks nor Isle of Hairy Man (first and last time promise!). On one hand it's exciting to drive those but on the other hand I see both providing less value than a popular circuit like Mugello or Road America.

Pikes Peak to me would be reasonable because despite it's relatively long length there isn't a lot of detail to it, it's mostly just trees and mountain texture. Isle of Man however, I would not understand in the slightest if PD themselves have decided to map out half the Island in detail, the track passes through several villages full of buildings and other intricate detail. It would take forever, all for a track with a) has next to zero history with cars and b) isn't wide enough to actually race cars on.

It was the Toyota TS030 at Brands Hatch GP.

To provide some perspective, my best lap time was a 1:11 and everyone's lap time apart from the guy in 1st was beaten by Emerson Fittipaldi's 9 year old son.
Impressions? How did it feel? 1:11 seems a bit quick for that car but I don't think there is any real world comparison beyond Mansell's 1:09.

9 yrs old

What was his lap time?

I guess for some people, they believe the popular youtuber has to automatically be a super skilled racer.

Definitely not always the case as shown on that leaderboard.

Who said i was surprised about the results...:banghead: I was more of saying that i forgot that they had GTSport at the event and that i didn't expected it to be some sort of competition between youtuber's. I was also wondering if it's any different from the last time in Nurb' or that London Event.

The GT3 record on the GP circuit is 1:23.2, on average a GT3 car is about 12-13% slower than LMP1 so that would indeed put a theoretical best LMP1 lap around the 1:11 to 1:12 region. So when you consider the usual reasons that put game laps ahead of real life and it's probably about right. Of course we don't know the tyre choice or aids though.

Wait. Who is Fittipaldi son exactly?

Glossing over the other categories in this thread, I'm not so sure there is a ranking system in this category. I mean, you can't really get a gold on watching a video, can you? As for the other selections within that category, they seem more like a "Pass or Fail" type of thing. From what we can see from the first two selections, one being "Experience the start of a race" and reading the description, all you're doing is waiting for the start and making sure not to jump the gun. The next selection is keeping and maintaining speed for a rolling start.

That's why I'm hoping for a bit of last minute surprises concerning the single-player aspect.

I think I misread something on that news piece on the main page. I saw all the etiquette mode goodies and this...

Acheive “silver” or better results in all of GT Sport’s “Campaign Mode” events

...right after that. I am confused now I guess, and can anyone in the know clarify this? Does the fact that the article mentions "silver in all events" apply to the etiquette mode in question?

:ouch:

Racing Etiquette tests are merely passed/cleared, as per the screenshot. They are a mixture of training events (First two are teaching you standing and rolling starts) and videos.

Note the date and stamp of completion.

The rest of the Campaign Mode is where you'll be racing for Gold/Silver/Bronze, like previous games.

Whether these feature leaderboards for competition, who knows. There is a rankings tab, so probably.

Wow, no love for Blackpanthaa just because of his laptime.

I get the feeling the disdain for this guy does not originate from his laptime.

Well to be fair, neither does Goodwood. In fact, you can't even select it outside time trails or that event offline.
