What happened when I was gone?

That's a stretch. You've currently tallied up a bunch of positives - with absolutely nothing that detracts from a score - about a game you haven't even played.

I don't understand what all of the flame is for from you and @LMSCorvetteGT2. The added score is the final one. I give one point to a thing I like and a half point to the things I don't really prefer. Forget I said anything. Anything I say here always gets blown out of proportion because someone isn't happy with what I've said. Why does it have to be that way? I'm just trying to talk about GT Sport, and here you come, blasting me because I didn't play the game yet and because I din't write a proper post that fits your fancy. Well, guess what, no one said that I have to wait until the game is released to say anything, or that I can't write any anything, or that I couldn't breathe on this forum without get smashed by a sledgehammer (or a ban hammer). It's up to me to say what I think, and I don't know why every time I say one word everyone feels the need to attack me with their disliking of my posts. So, you know what comes next? I'm leaving this forum for good. (Oh, I'm a crybaby... boohoo I don't care anymore) I'll turn on parental controls and block this website from myself, because that's what's best for everyone apparently. See you on the wild side.

People having discussion, debate, argument, commentary and so on has been a feature of this forum since the get go, so why you're thanking the owner of making what happens on every internet forum ever...is confusing but then again so is your leap to leave just because people disagree with you. I mean you made a post rating a game that hasn't even been halfway shown to us, don't make it possible to give it any negatives and those supposed negatives you do give are positives.

Anyways, best of luck.

The Alpine VGT really did feel underpowered in GT6, it's good to see that the HP figure has been increased for GTS. It should feel way better.
I always felt that Alpine VGT is basically a LMP2 car in GT6 judging by its specs. Not sure if promoting it into LMP1 will make it feel better.

Perform yes obviously.

I wouldn't necessarily say its a LMP2 car so much as its a track day car with LMP2 Pace (At least the race model is anyway).

Yes in the first trailer :)View attachment 566366
Yep, that's the one.
A few things to note there.
The 'original' LM55 has the same PP as it does in GT6 (710), although the TS030 has more now despite apparently the same power and weight figures as GT6. (GT6 =615).
The Tomahawk was originally 866. :mischievous:

Most of the Gr.3 cars in that image have that (S) following their name, and I'm not sure what that means, if anything at all anymore, because I don't think we've seen it again.
But the 2 identical VW VGT's, one is 'regular' while the other is an (S).
With the (S) having 6 more PP.

It's all fun and games and hypotheticals.
But I find it interesting. :D
And it raises lots of questions.

Does a BoP'd VGT and the 'original' VGT equal 2 cars out of the 140, or is the car count essentially done using the model, eg. Mitsi Evo = 1 car, not 4?
And PP, what's the significance, if at all?
Online lobby only scenario, and evidence of reasonable tuning options, or just simple power, weight, balance, and aero tweaks?
(Just me thinking out loud again.)

The game isn't about you and "350z tunes that you can or can't do" it has a much greater ambition and thus the tuning aspect here does what it should do. Very little.

I don't see why it couldn't have upgrades, it's only the sport mode that requires grouping of the entrants.

10 items on presumably 0-1 each gives a score of 0-10. With negative ratings it would be -10 to 10.

And the other mode is to prepare you for sport mode, there hasn't been any talk of a mode where you play a solo off line career like prior gt games, and thus stands to reason that since the main focus is the eSport competitive aspect, that's what the rest of the game is geared towards. It's like playing hearthstone, and expecting to make your own cards for the normal games that aren't ranked cause they'll never see ranked play anyways...why waste utility?

Ah but he did give negatives, they just happen to be positive .5 instead of 1 for generally positive. I give GTS a perfect 5/7

That's what I've been doing, but I wanted to make sure nothing has fallen between the cracks

The people who write the stuff are usually on it, the only thing you'll get here is rumors and debate, the stuff you're not looking for. And then the news which is already posted on the front page of the website.

It's a question that needs to be answered before release.

Most other games count tuning variants as the same car. For example, AC has ~100 different models if I remember correctly, some with multiple tuning presets at various power levels. If GTS only actually has 50 cars each with several tuning presets, I think some customers would like to know that before they purchase.

Unfortunately, Gran Turismo has a history of "boosting" it's car lists. Base Models, the regional duplicates like Honda/Acura, Vauxhall/Opel etc., weird duplicates that don't exist like the two Veyrons, RM models and so on. I strongly suspect that four different tunes of Evo will be counted as four different cars, based on how they've counted the car lists in the recent past. Assuming that every car has a "stock" form and at least one race tuned version, that would put the actual car list somewhere south of 70. Which considering the amount of VGTs mixed in there, wouldn't be that impressive and would be an even more colossal departure from the standard Gran Turismo formula.

It's speculation, but it's more or less what I'm expecting at this point. I hope to be proven wrong.

That's a really good point - this needs clearing up.
I wonder, taking the worst case scenario, if it is the case that a variant counts as a unique car, then how many of the 140 have we already seen?

I still don't know why they don't release a nice scape with a new car each week, to keep the interest up...

Because it is a game franchise fan site? How about joining a site the focus is on reaching out to the poor and starving in the world and start asking if GTS is any good or not?

My sides hurt after this one.
Doesn't excuse anybody from their own actions.

Why are you on some righteous high horse "oh look at me complain about arguments on an internet forum", cause yeah those never happen. You can always block the users or not bother with the thread, I'm sure there are countless others you'd find more appealing. Sorry if we like to discuss or even debate the possibilities of this game based on the information we've been given thus far.

There'll also be an offline arcade mode, presumably time-trialling, and I believe online lobbies.

Yeah, that was kind of my point that it wasn't all positive with nothing detracting from the score.

Yes and why would it and any of the other features need modifications to cars to function, other than for those who want it and don't like the idea of limited tuning. Once again there is such thing as utility and how that plays to the entire system, what you want lacks it and thus as circumstance seems to point right now, wont see itself in the game.

Now does that make the game lose purpose or make it less of what it's trying to become? Not at all I'd think.

Yeah, that was kind of my point that it wasn't all positive with nothing detracting from the score.

You said he could have gone negative...yet he never tried with his arbitrary review/rating of an unreleased game with only partial revealed content...

Even the 0-10 that you somehow think he based on still doesn't show negatives rather positives due to the fact his negatives still scale in favor.

For example I could make 20 points about a game all of them being negatives to me and then for those 20 points award +.5 for each. Thus the game would get a 10/10. So anyone not reading this journalistic master piece would think "well it's got to be a great game". Also if it was indeed your point then why comment on what Slipz said as if to try and help understand some deeper thought to Pro's scoring system.

Blocked due to too much recent activity. Seems to be cleared now.

Although using starving people to make a sarcastic post is low. Very low.
Not really. We're all conveniently myopic about it when it suits us; that's "low".

The point was being made against the idea that it is frivolous (and pointless) to be posting about this game. It means there is no reason not to, despite the bigger picture.

Either such frivolity is in principle "low", or it isn't. Sarcasm, starving kids, or no.
