Cars are part of Gran Turismo. Aren't they?
The sun is part of Gran Turismo. We don't discuss the Solar Dynamics Observatory mission in here.

Even if your attempt to yet again tell everyone what you think of various car brands is appropriate - and it isn't - the answer to your question is "People like different things.".

This line of enquiry stops now.

Edit: This applies to everyone.

Okay. Where can I say my opinion about cars in this website?

What happened to this thread in the last half hour? Oh, and I don't think "Porsche is the worst auto brand in the world" and "be cool guys. I'm not against" are consistent thoughts.

Don't you get it? Dicsucion about GT is a long time away. We keep wait but waiting is hard to me.

It's London so not sure why it's been posted except because it was @Saidur_Ali that uploaded it I guess.
Today I published most of my unlisted videos on YouTube so looks like it's new although it isn't.
I was in that Race :) Started at the Back I believe (M.Kearon) Made my way up to 3rd I think!
Saw your comment on YouTube, my brother's iPhone memory ran out recording in 4K. Below is video of full race captured by someone else:

Wow, what a race. That's the kind of action this game needs to succeed and impress me. Seeing how the cars move around on the track looks far more realistic than GT6, which is good news... Hopefully. I've probably said this before, but it's true - GT Sport looks much better than GT6, and it isn't even finished.

You'd think multiple posts from another member of staff would've convinced others to not continue the off-topic nonsense that resulted in nearly an entire page of deleted posts.

Apparently it requires repeating.

(More posts deleted.)

Slight change of topic: Am I the only one who never enjoyed the rallying in GT...? It always felt a bit too unrealistic, the surfaces, the handling. Never bothered with it much.

And after Dirt Rally, I'm a little unconvinced it'll be worth bothering with in GTS either. Not heard much mention of it from Kaz, apart from some minor comment on the different types of dirt or something, so doesn't bode well that it's had a decent amount of dev attention.

Would love to see some footage of it, however, maybe with the weird Mustang (?) rally car.

GT2 & GT3 were fine experiences for me. Grand Canyon in GT4? Maybe not as much.

Since GT5, I can't enjoy rally. There is no grip, no sensation and no real challenge with the track/AI.

Same. I've never liked or understood the presence of rallying in GT. Richard Burns Rally was the reason for that. It was, and still is, so much better - it's silly.

Yesterday I played GTS in Tokoname Japan. Even though there was only one game machine, I could play it earlier than I thought because only few people were waiting in a line. It seemed GTS isn't that popular anymore.

By the way, I drove Lexus RCF on the Nurburgring track. I realized easily that graphic engine improved enormously. Cars, reflects, trees, even humans, everything was beautiful and detailed. AI cars were still stupid and easy to overtake, but faster than GT6. There were less gaps between me and other AI cars. I couldn't overtake Corvette which was the top until I reached the long straight. At the same time, I was overtaked by AMG GT. I hate a slipstream :) Besides I noticed some tire options were added. I saw "standard" tires following other tires, like racing hard, medium and soft in driving option screen. Maybe you guys have already known it.

I regret I didn't take videos anyway!
(And sorry for my poor English. I'm learning English. I hope these make sence)

The rally was sort of fine back in the day when a slippery surface was about as good as rally games got. Gran Turismo's rally wasn't great, but it wasn't any worse than anyone else's.

Then we got RBR.

I'd say from the PS3 generation on it has been a waste of Polyphony's time. Just about any other game with dirt driving feels better. And that's not unexpected, the physics of driving on dirt are radically different to tarmac, it's not just something where you can change a few constants and have it be pretty close.

Add in that Polyphony's dirt tracks tend to be wide uninspired loops or complete deathtraps like Eiger (thank goodness there's plastic tape to protect me from that 100 foot drop) and it just feels tacked on. I think it should be removed from the mainline games and the time spent on other things.

If they want to make a rally game, I'd prefer it to be separate. If they're going to do rally I'd prefer them to spend a significant amount of time on it. I'd be up for buying (or at least trying) a Polyphony rally game, but they need to do better than slippery tarmac racing between invisible walls.

P.S. Dirt Rally is incredible.

During GT2 era i spent quite some time on rallying but after i tried in on GT3 i never bother with GT's rally thingy other than license test. It just dont give me the "fizz"

I would say dirt 2/3 even though arcady , are more of a fun to drive on rather than GT's rally.

maybe dirt rally is too taxing for somebody, you could try sebastian loeb rally evo, its something between dirt rally and WRC.

If they cant develop proper sounds, colision phisics and variable climate and time with stable 60 fps; it is not wise to ask them to make proper rally phisics. In GT5 the rally phisics were madness. There was no grip at all. Very unrealistic.

I know it is offtopic, but a I have to disagree. I read that conclusion in many places, and i think is completely wrong. SLRE has just as good phisics as Dirt in snow; SLRE has way better phisics in tarmac, and a little bit better in ice and Dirt rally is a little bit better in dirt.

And dont talk about force feedback. SLRE in tarmac is good, but Dirt in that surface has totally corrupted force feedback. Is like playing Dirt 3.

PD: Im talking about PS4.

Edit: And i think telling to someone that SLRE its easier is a totally a bad advise because the stages in SLRE are milles more dificult.

How are the physics?

These days I haven't played GT6 so I can't compare though, felt it was good to drive. As you know Nurburgring is a kind of bumpy course, I could feel them easily. Besides when I went on grass, my car started slipping and it looked realistic for me. But the physics when I hit other cars was nothing different from GT6, I thought. PD has to change something to make GTS more real.

I do completly agree about rally been bad in GT5/6. There's a little dirt road with something around 4km lenght where i live. With a car with cheap tires and a amazing engine of 80hp, i can go with speeds around 100km/h and the car ca make cornera way better than rally cara in GT.

Glad it wasn't just me then. Felt very tacked on, almost just to be able to have it a back of box bullet point.

And they must know this genre has some serious competition nowadays.

I have never been a fan of rally in Gran Turismo. There is no grip, in a very different way to Dirt Rally, and with other cars on the track it just doesn't feel right. It feels like a more realistic Sega Rally.

With the way it is currently presented I would not miss it if it never appeared in another Gran Turismo game. GTS may surprise us with a much improved feel but I don't feel overly confident about it. Some of the new Group B cars so look pretty cool though I must admit.
