Aah yes, I remember those leaked photos. They still have not shown any older cars so I have no hope to see the Ferrari.
At this point, the only reason they should withhold GT6 premiums from GTS would be sub-par engine sounds. I can't think of a premium - even going back to GT5 Prologue - that wouldn't look fine on current gen with all of the new horsepower, polygons, shaders and such.

It would be more a question of "what is our goal for GT Sport?" If GTS is going to be a proper GT7 (I believe this was not the case before but has changed) they will squeeze every existing premium they can in by launch. I think they could launch it with ~500 cars this spring. They might need to clean up some textures or improve/add some details that were previously omitted, but the biggest hurdle when bringing an existing model into the game would be sound. If their new audio tools are good enough, they should be able to dig up engine sound recordings from archive, copy/paste and voila, can't tell it's not real :sly:

One Idea I have for PD is they could use outsourcing companies to update their premium car models for PS4, or even PD themselves can improve requested car models from outsourcing.

Tangents or nothing. Those are the only options for this thread for the last few months.

Also I notice on that PS Blog article, not one person comments about GT. It's a trend I've noticed elsewhere when gamers are discussing their most wanted games, PD are going to have to really ramp up the PR when they start promoting this game again because right now people don't seem to care.

I have been talking about these facts for months. Outside of the sim-racing culture, people don't seem to have an interest in the game type like before.

It's why I believe that addressing "issues" that pertain to pure simulation should be placed on the lower half of the to do list. Of course, this doesn't include crashes because I look at that as more of an eye candy for the masses.

Perhaps the online feature set will be a lightning in the bottle of sorts for PDI, but I can't escape the feeling that the entire GT and Forza formula isn't going to work anymore for big sales numbers.

The golden era of motorsport/car culture is over IMO. FH3 and Forza 6 are excellent but aren't bestsellers...

That what happens when all people care about are FPS and RPG games. Might as well add FIFA to the list. Sad to see it go.

Car games were always a niche. They will never meet the same sales numbers as FPS', FIFA and RPG's.

I think you understood my post a bit wrong, look at the the 3 quoted posts i did. While yes GT is a niche game back then, it's even more so right now. GT used to be a better selling game. I remember people talking about racing/driving games more back in the day, Be it at school, with friends or family. Nowadays all i usually hear from them are FIFA and/or this..

Would love to have a SuperGT series with the new cars so yeah glad the RC_F is there.
It's about time they update their Super GT cars lineup instead of having 2008 ones from GT5.

Can't say this has been the same experience with me. I can probably count on both hands how many people I personally know/knew in real life that have talked about racing/driving games up to this current date. It has always mostly been the other games.

Well...turns out i'm always the wrong guy then. I must have a really different experience in my life.

The Cali / Amsterdam office could do this. No need to outsource to anything other than another PD office, they just need to hire modelers for those offices. That solves Kaz's problems with not wanting to go outside the "family"

Well, not sure if it helps ease your conscience, but the last time I heard people talk about a racing game, was Need For Speed (2015), a few months before it's launch. It's rare, but it happens from time to time, people talking about racing games. But, NFS is an exception, because it was a "back to the origins" for the franchise, where the tuning and street racing were the most important features, and is the game that gets closer to a certain movie franchise, Fast and Furious. NFS is different because it can be directly connected to a huge movie franchise.

I guess it's a cultural thing. Since I was 10, there was a lot of talk about football (in general) and football games. I mean, a high percentage (50%+) of the boys talked about football and/or played football, and some girls too. It was always the main hobby, I'd say. It all depends on the cultures. A country, or even a city, with some automotive culture, will most likely see that kind of subject being discussed.

Nowadays, the best way to see which games/genre has more focus on it, is through Youtube. Just count how many successfull chanels are about racing games in general (with over 500k subscribers). Now do the same for COD, FIFA, CS, Battlefield, Minecraft, etc. The difference is huge.

I didn't think that Super GT would be included in GT Sport until now... However, you can't have a GT game without Super GT (and/or JGTC) - it's just like having a cheeseburger but without the cheese. It's an essential ingredient. Super GT has to be Group 2, because they're faster than any GT3 car but doesn't fit into an LMP style class. Heck, the Super GT cars have actually gone around Fuji faster than LMP2's in the WEC, and I also heard that they would probably give LMP1's a good run for their money. I don't know whether this is true, but one car went faster than an LMP1 around Fuji - so they aren't slouches. They would provide great racing in GT Sport.

Hope Polyphony doesn't make us wait to long. just received this stuff today. :)

Playstation4 pro
gran turismo playseat
thrustmaster t300rs base
alcantra Ferrari steering wheel rim
t3pa-pro pedals
Samsung 5.1 surround sound system
speaker towers
You could have bought a real race car for that cost

car audio from Watchdogs 2 - pc

GT Sports needs to match this at the bare minimum - an open world game
The shifts sound better than what GT currently has

GT Sport is not going to be an open world game. I do agree GT may need to improve the shift sounds, but please, not similar to Watch Dogs. It sounds way over the top. It's a real stretch to compare a game that is focused on motorsport to a game that isn't.

Exactly my point, car audio is not a point of emphasis for an open world game, it's not expected to be good in such a game, and yet it still sounds better than what you currently have in a GT game

quite like the skid sounds as well
