Anyone see this? For any lifelong GT fans that didn't get the beta invite, I could think of a few ways to go as far as making a video.

I heard about it this past week. I wondered why GTP didn't post an article notifying people about it. I figured they weren't thinking it's worth mentioning. That thing does look like it could have potential though. Probably not.

The people at the end of the video put me off from going to those sorts of events (aside from E3 or Gamescom, proven events). Flippin baffoons. The one guy sounds like the "Bro" of gamers.

It sounds like your biggest gripe here is BoP.
And yes, there does seem to be a few select cars that need reviewing.

Perhaps the system will be improved, perhaps it won't.
Who knows?

Even now it is clearly going to be a massive step forward compared to the random GT6 Quickmatch.
And I'm confident it will provide much better racing.

Sure, some people will game the system.
Some people will game any system.
I'm not claiming it's perfect.
I'm simply suggesting we wait for the final game and give it some time for people to land in their classes before calling doom and gloom.
The rating system is good. Without it, there isn't the benefit of improving the online experience. It's not going to cause more harm than good.

I don't see why so many people are talking about it as if it's never going to work. It's not going to be perfect and it isn't intended to fix people. It's here to make online competition more reliable. Just find exploits and figure out the issues, report them and it will help PD to modify this system. I don't think it's possible to make it anywhere near as great as some people wish for.

You were however suggesting it was fine as-is, and it would simply take a more time for people to get appropriate SR levels. That won't happen for the majority of players. Not when one player can affect so many other's scores with impunity.

You are confident... are you playing the beta? What's your SR?

I think you're seeing it from a doom and gloom perspective. It's actually creeping me out.

We all know the GT-R is overpowered as are a couple of other 4wd's, but how do the other cars stack up vs. each other. No one seems to mention that.

The real question is, what can be done, if anything, to make it better? And will the SR system be good enough to encourage millions of people to venture online and race on a consistent basis?

It'll help me get into competitive racing. I would usually avoid it without the structure GTS appears to have. Really, I avoided racing and just enjoyed hotlapping and improving anywhere I could. GTS looks like it'll help direct me.

Judging from the Beta, AWD cars in general need some work. I find the Lancer Evo X in the N300 even worse than the Gr.4 GT-R.

What I'm getting at though is, are the other cars balanced with each other and the Evo and GT-R just too fast, or are there imbalances up and down the class, even among the other drivetrains?

The Evo and TTS dominate N300. It's hard for much to get close. Gr.4 is dominated by the GT-R, though the Scirocco and the Genesis are also very fast in the class. Gr.3 seems to be much better balanced, though if I'm not mistaken, the 4C and Corvette are slightly faster than everything else.

im kinda new here yes im still useing a controller but ive played every GT game out but im playing it right now and the new supera FT-1 gr.3 is in game ?

Yep, the FT-1 Gr.3 is in. You'll most likely get it soon, if you've been doing your daily workouts.

Yesterday's Gr.4 Brands Hatch Indy last race (in my case) was a complete joke. I saw drivers on the grid with an SR between 52 and 55, mostly C grades. I starded 2nd with my SLS but when the lights went off I was already 5th or 6th at the first corner because the GT-R's... well we all know what they can do.
I was determined to fight for positions so I was driving agressively but cautious at the same time down the hill when a pack of 4 GT-R's just throw me off the track on Druid's. All of them with C grade. I was expecting fair race but nah, I was wrong.
Lucky you with the SLS. Imagine you have set a reasonable 50.780 time and start first in your race with a SCIROCCO. Before the first turn 6 GT-R's already passed you and then it's almost impossible to overtake them gently...Wreckfest 2.0

Anyone else notice steering input indicator above the rev indicator with bumper cam? Once seen, hard to be unseen and can be sort of distracting.

Not only BoP. The majority of people don't know what is racing etiquette or racecraft.

My best with the "SnaiLS" was a 50.545 after 20mins or so of quali. Yeah the GT-R's are way too fast mate...

I wonder if they will let you upgrade a Normal car into a GR.X. I personally would like that. It would add a lot of variety to the cars available for a certain class. Add things like the roll cage, racing wheel, stripped out interiors...

Here are a few of my thoughts based on some gameplay videos and livestreams. I do not have access to the beta, but there a lot of things to be said. I AM aware that this is a BETA, and things WILL be improved.

1) GRAPHICS
[POS] Polyphony Digital appears to have made a controllable movie. The lighting looks fantastic, as it always has within the GT franchise. They just know how to make something look spectacular, and to be honest some screenshots are hard to discern between wether it is real or a game. Dark parts are very dark, and lights are white hot and super bright. Very nice. Oh, and mother of trees. They look really good for PD.
[NEG] I very much love how nice the game looks, but as we all know, there are some places that look too perfect; an example being the smooth texture of the road surface, and the solid green grass.

2) SOUNDS
[POS] Whoa. Wow. Neat... ooh, that grumble... I'm looking at you, Alfa Romeo 4C Gr.4. In earlier builds of GTSport BETA, there were suspension noises, and it made the listening experience very immersive. Almost reminded me of RaceRoom. Anyway, there are much better sounds than Gran Turismo 1-6 ever had. There are grumbles where required, there are some backfires/crackling/popping of the exhaust that is audible, and overall, I believe that the newer sounds are setting a next level, better mood for GTSport. Go PD!
[NEG] However, there is just one thing that still throws me for a loop. I don't know if it's just me or what, but the turbocharger sound and pitch isn't reliant on the throttle input it seems. This isn't a big deal, but I notice it. GTSport needs more cowbell (BASSSS.)

3) EASE OF USE/GUI
[POS] I know PD is a sort of veteran of game development, but wow do the menus look sleek, clean, and very professional... to the point, if you will. Everything looks really great, and according to streamers, the right analog stick can be used to control the "mouse pointer." That makes it more open in my opinion. You control the game, you tell it what you want to do. Gran Turismo 6, also known as Windows 8 Racing, hehe, you know how it looked. Like an ugly fixed menu. These menus on GTSport look very easy to maneuver and learn, quite few buttons are there, so in general the menus aren't confusing.
[NEG] Umm, I'm okay with what it is. No complaints, but damn PD, UNgray out your menus so us spying on the BETA can see what you've got in store for us! We got a lot of things to see before the release day, help us out!

I'm hearing the same thing from my friends oh I got to try it at a friend's house and I agree

Why a 9.8GB DL if it's just server maintenance? I have 76 mins of downloading to go before I can go back on the beta due to server maintenance?.. it doesn't add up
