What still on question is why the update weighs 9,8 GB for just a simple fix? Could be just the chase cam adjusting system or is there another else? Presumably a new replay demo with Porsche? Just curious.

It's likely got content packed away that we cannot use yet, such as more courses, vehicles, and features.

In GT6 the updates were massive because of VGT videos, but were not doing those in the BETA.

My guess is that it added Sardegna Windmills, the Porsche 911 GT3, and a select few N300, N400, Gr4., Gr3., Gr1. vehicles.

That's possible, putting hidden data until finally those data is usable and playable in future updates. My predictions would be the dirt track, Porsche replay demo (since 911 GT3 RS didn't fit in N300 categories I supposed) or probably Interlagos (Just saying... Just... saying...)

Yeah, they've done it before, on GT6! We've seen Sardegna on the main menu and on replays... but do we even have any Gr.B vehicles to drive on it or do we need to use N300 with dirt tires for now? Also, the 911 GT3 RS would fit nicely into the N500 category, which I haven't seen any vehicles for. This is rather confusing... what are they adding behind the curtains that we can't see or know???

Such a substantial update is interesting. Has anybody noticed much improvement with the wheel FFB? Been rubbish so far which is why I only use the Dualshock.

There's an annoying brake sign that flashes on above the speedo and it obscures the braking point on turn 1 at brands hatch bah 👎 they fixed the braking issue on G29 and it feels great now 👍 I think they made the driving a touch easier also as I took .2 off my brands hatch test in 3 laps

I like it overall but it feels super easy to take chunks of time off your previous best now.. finding a balance is gonna be a struggle! I expect many more updates :D

Are cars still obtained by driving the daily milage or are they unlocked now? Is the arcade mode enabled? The change in the chasecam is very welcome and appreciated.

Just a thought with the new chase cam maybe it is closer to a Drift Mode? Because with adjustable chase cam we have now it is likely make drifting feels better. Or rallying also better with the new chase cam imo.

Try the Lancer @nords. If you can improve your best time you're an Alien. It is good that the BoP is more balanced (at least it looks they changed it).

Braking marker is funny. I decided to turn off the HUD and only drive on my cockpit signs.

Anyone knows what this patch includes?

It is 9.7 GB so it must have loads of stuff...

Mechanical damage will going to come to the game!!!

Did you see the new car image on the head up display?

In the middle of the tire image as you can see the car image is changed and the new image refers that mechanical damage can be happen in the race soon...

Ok just tried 2 laps and I'm down at T1 by .5 and steadily every sector adds more to the overall laptime  so yeah N300 just got harder to drive but the GR4 group got easier unless it's just my brakes are working now and I need to get used to them again? but yep the differences are huge 👍

Today my McLaren 650S GT3 felt different than it was before the patch. Now it feels more planted when accelerating, while turning out of a corner. Yesterday, I was lapping Dragons Trail, around the high 42 to low 43 second mark. Today, I was able to get into the low 41 seconds, and was able to get half a second within the race.

I don't think I improved my right foot within a day, but I was still easing the throttle coming out, but I wasn't kicking the tail end out as much as I was yesterday. Almost like I have some sort of aid on or something. I'll have to double check my assist, to see if anything changed during the update.

The only thing I noticed on the McLaren, was every time I downshifted, the icon with the car with the squiggly lines on the bottom left, below the RPM Gauge, would light up. But only on downshifts, and that's the only time I saw it.

Edit: Now they have updated sounds when you set a purple sector time.

probably an auto rev-match icon (maybe we will be eventually able to disable it? :) )

This update sounds very very good. A 9.7 gig patch is surely going to deliver some really significant changes to the game. I hope it includes some new cars and tracks - it better be the case with an update size like this one. The new chase cam option reminds me of GT3.

That sucks! Please tell me we can turn that flashing Brake off?
Thank God they put that there. Otherwise, you wouldn't know if you had pressed the brake, accelerator or Turbo Boost (assuming you were driving K.I.T.T., of course) Assetto Corsa did this recently with their "Downshift Protection" on the PC version. Everybody instantly lost their minds, as expected. I'm sure that BRAKE nanny will be something you can toggle on/off.

GTSport sure looks beautiful. They have an amazing graphics team over there in PD land.

Wow, an update.
Very nice.
It all sounds good so far. 👍

But please PD, you have to let us switch off that flashing "brake" indicator.
That's a shocker. 👎

I don't wish to dampen the mood, but I noticed a special time-frame for the new daily races schedule.

"With the new software update, we will expand the hosting hours of the daily races according to the following schedule:

2 May 2017, 20:00 - 3 May 19:00 PDT"

I hope this isn't suggesting it's for the next 24 hours only.
Hopefully it will continue beyond the specified date, as it could be seen as a signal for the inclusion of more regions.

I was thinking to myself yesterday that if GT-R had a bit more front end grip, it would be so much easier to do faster laps and that car was way too slow going by Nordschleife times.

After reading your comment, decided to give it a quick go and managed to get top spot. Feels so much better to drive due to less understeer, maybe the RH tyres have got more grip now so will be interesting to see how much quicker times the aliens manage, I'm guessing low 48 second times. I managed to do a few 49.0XX laps in the races. Will try and give it a proper go later if event is still up. Quite a lot of changes to UI and HUD, I mentioned yesterday that steering input indicator can be distracting, PDI have now topped it with massive red BRAKE text flashing.

Ooh you made my day 👍 I was in doubt this morning. I thought it was my driving skills. Glad you confirmed!

Agree. And since we are still in beta and things can be changed easily. Please also move that sentence in the middle of the screen during the time before the race starts to the top or bottom of the screen. Thanks!!

Forgive my ignorance, please...but, could someone explain to me what "Gr. 4" refers to? Is that short for "Group 4" and if so, is Group 4 supposed to have the same requirements as GT4 racing? I consulted the almighty Googles about "Group 4 racing", however, it mentions a now defunct class of sportscar racing that was replaced by Group B racing in 1983. Clearly not what I'm looking for. I then asked the Googles to bestow on me knowledge of "GT4 Racing", which seemed logical. When I did not see the Nissan GT-R homologated for GT4 racing I threw in the towel and decided to ask GTPlanet. :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. 👍

Gr. 4 is basically PD's version of GT4, hence why some cars have GT4-esque specs and looks although they aren't even homologated for GT4 racing. 👍

Gr4 is PD's made up category that sort of fits GT4 just as Gr3 is a PD made up category that fits the GT3 class.

And yes, I think Gr stands for group.
