Gran Turismo Sport Livery Thread and Discussion! (Read Original Post!)

I know this feeling too! :D It's just the way it is, sometimes it gives good surprises, I've got a few liveries between 50 and 100 likes, and having this one at 38 wasn't expected at all when I shared it!

I was like, boo, who'll be interested in that livery? :D

@CoolJetta3 nice RCZ!
Makes me think about my Loeb's Pikes Peak replica.

Which is actually my biggest "success" with 93 likes I think.
Happy with this one, and the Vatanen one too. :)

Right now, this is my most popular livery to date:

62 likes, 6 comments and 14 reposts so far. Keep in mind that this is supposed to represent a completely fictional manufacturer and model of my own making. I'm inclined to believe that the Bathurst 12 Hour connection might have helped it a little bit.

By comparison, my second-most popular was a Zonda LM replica...

I’ve tidied up some decal issues and shared both of the sport mode friendly designs.

Edit: Would appreciate some feedback on these because the mecha decal worked better before the addition of the race numbers and I'm not 100% on either of this for the race versions.

A group picture of some works in progress. Little bits need adding here and there, but does anyone know of a decent top down scape for three cars with decent lighting?

If you want natural lighting that isn't affected by shadows too much, you can't go much wrong with Fuji International Speedway 10 (pitlane). :)

The next two I actually made 3 years ago, but I've re-made them with updated decals and simpler designs. In the case of the Abu Dhabi car I was able to make the same design with way less decals

The 106 Rallye stripe colors

This is just a new one, not an old remake

I have totally forgotten how cool these 106 stripes were... Had them a lot of years ago on my 106 Rallye, too. Are they made out of the standard GTS decals or are they custom made? If yes, can you help old lazy me and share them?

About the way to understand how you get likes, I’ve made a post quite some time ago.

You’ll never be into « Most Popular » again : all the liveries there came from the beginning of the game or are at least one year old, and the current community is not big enough to reach the kind of numbers they previously got.

Your goal should be « Cool Selections » where Polyphony chooses some good liveries on the new cars or from an event (24h of Le Mans, Spa, Nurburgring...), or « Trending », which uses an algorithm to detect liveries which got a lot of likes in a short time.

« Cool Selection » used to be updated every week, but now it’s more 2 weeks or even more. The good thing is that Polyphony often features liveries from « small » accounts with not that many followers. The bad thing is that most of these accounts are Japanese.

« Trending » moves every day, and the liveries which are shown there benefits of the snowball effect : the more they got likes, the more they are visible, the more they got likes, etc...

Unfortunately, since then the « Cool Selection » is not as up-to-date from Polyphony (the last one is stil with the « new Supra Gr.4 in December and I expect the new one to be full of DBR9 liveries. I bet when it comes out, you activity feed will be flooded with British Racing Green and Gulf Astons... and only a few will be elected to the Trending or Cool pages.

Also, the preeminence of ICRT/SDRT groups in the Trending section let very few chances for a « low » profile to get it.

Even when I share a great livery from someone and hence shows it to 2600 followers, it gets a little bump in the likes then disappear again in the feed...

I did some liveries « to be trending » but most of them where not selected, while some quick stuff got loads of attention so now I just do what I like, and I value more the feedback I get here than the counters in the game.

Maybe my only ambitious objective is to have my Black Falcon AMGs from the Nurb24h on the top for the third year in a row...

This is indeed one of the best spot to showcase liveries. Seeing the life log, I guess I could bet this is the most used scape since its addition. This would be fun is Polyphony share this kind of data.

I found them in game, someone else shared them back in December 2017. A player named RaphLeFou he tagged them #stripes106 #peugeot #rallye

Does anybody know if you lose your created liveries if you uninstall GT Sport? I'm sure I've read somewhere before that you lose your photos and wondered if it was the same for liveries. Basically I play this game once or twice a month now and it's taking up 111gb of hard drive space and I'd rather delete it but I don't really want to lose hundreds of hours of livery work either.

I think you should change a little bit the position of the decal, either to center the number on the circle, or to let this circle be fully visible next to the number plate.

Is the decal a very good colour or is it a cutout with a covering mask for the body?

It's a Y1 chrome base on this one, and a R1 big flakes on the black one seen before.

Edit : @Stephen220378 I've lost the miniatures of all my liveries when I changed my disc version for the downloadable one but I hadn't took lots of pics at the time so I can't confirm this point.
Maybe you should simply transfer them to your USB key.

You don't loose them but you can't open them and work on them :( At least that was the case for me!

Basically as long as when I reinstall the game whenever I fancy playing it the liveries I've created are still on the cars I'm fine with it.

Finished the three entries for the 2018 8hrs of California. I've decided to switch gears with my replicas and focus on making sure they are Sport Mode compatible with the vauge hope people will feel more enclined to use them online

I think that is a smart move. However, the R8 is not a beginner's car and the more advanced drivers might be more likely to make their own liveries too. I seem to remember that DR D and C are where there are most duplicate liveries, suggesting that they are downloaded.

If you mean the liveries and pictures, they are made on the PS4.

So this livery, for example, was created on the PS4??? Do you upload the graphics to the PS4 and then created the livery using that graphic? Sorry, I’m a bit new when it comes to the livery stuff but I see some really cool ones and want to give it a crack.
Thanks!

You have to know, that @NBDESIGNZ is not from this world. He is a real wizard in terms of the livery editor.

The decals are made on the PC/Mac to get .svg files. Then they are applied onto the car in the livery editor with the PS4.

You can check the threads right here how to make .svg files or if you need help with them you can of course ask in the decal request thread.

Have fun
