I don't understand why that needs explaining. Especially in a Group 1 race, there's no way anyone can deny that using the only view that is remotely realistic isn't a huge disadvantage vs people using hood or bumper camera. And that's a big part of why it's the most realistic view as well. Closed cockpit prototypes SHOULD have far less visibility than others. There's no other way to simulate the difference in visibility between different types of cars besides using cockpit view in these games. That's why iracing forces you to use cockpit view and that's how it should be.
If you use bumper, chase, or hood camera, you'd have the same visibility if you were driving a shifter kart as if you were driving a Audi R18 LMP. I shouldn't need to explain why that's insanely unrealistic and frankly BS that it's allowed in what is supposed to be a competitive online race that's supposedly sanctioned by the FIA.
I don't think I should be at a disadvantage just because I'm one of the few that cares about realism in a racing sim, instead of pretending like it's NFS or burnout by using unrealistic trash like bumper, hood, or chase camera. They call it "the real driving simulator" and let use race in this FIA sanctioned competitive mode but still allow players to basically cheat.
Well at least now they make everyone use steering wheels at championship events.
Hopefully GT Sport 2 on PS5 will have full PS VR support. Problem solved
