The McLaren F1 GT-R should go into Gr.2 for a couple reasons:

1. Gr.3 does not need another unbalanced car at this point in time.

2. Gr.2 needs all the cars it can get.

3. Grid Autosport did it first, and that would be cool to relive.

4. Real F1 GT-Rs raced in the JGTC.

5. All returning GT1 cars should be placed in Gr.2 because they’ll be smoked in Gr.1.

To be honest I think there just needs to be more vehicle classes in the game, starting with a standalone Group C.

Unpopular opinion- Gr.1 is better than Gr.3.
Anyone agree?

Deep down I probably agree with you.

GT3 is staid. Its the bread and butter of GTS (and of motor racing I guess).

Its the ultimate of road going race cars. Dont get my wrong, I do love it and I do love the races and endurance events.

HOWEVER saying that, the mess that is Gr1 is exciting.

VGTs = meh, less said the better but I do like learning the pros and cons of the faster ones like the McLaren Ultimate I always use.

I do like the new hybrid cars but I guess this class is effectively dead now.

The Group C and 2000's LMP cars I also love but PD does them a disservice by not separating them.

I probably like the 2000's LMPs even more due to GT6... the Peugeots the Pescarolos the BMW V12LMR the GT-ONE... there arent enough here.

1. Im pretty sure pd wont do that mistake again.

2. Thats true but class shouldnt filled with cars that they dont belong.

3. Grid autosport is a decent game i dont think they should do it just because Grid did.

4. F1 gtr long tails raced in jgtc. This F1 gtr "ueno clinic" raced at 24h as a grand tourer car.

5.All returning Fia gt1 cars should be placed at gr.3. Any other class wont make any sense.

I'm going to get crucified for saying this but its my feeling and has been since day one, Every GT since they started adding microtransactions and forcing online has been poor, The only redeeming features for GTSport are the graphics (which came at the cost of other things like rain) and the livery editor which was a long overdue addition. Everything else is pretty woeful.

Does Belgium have oil? If so, we can arrange for a visit from the freedom fairy.

No oil, unfortunately. But we do have some nukes, albeit borrowed from the US :)

Putting scapes into the game was a waste of time and resources. Especially when the game launched light on cars and tracks.

If you care about balance in the car categories but advocate putting varying types of cars from different eras into the same categories, then you must have rocks in your head. Gr1 is a perfect example of why this doesn’t work. It didnt work in many Forza Motorsport iterations or in Project cars either.

I prefer the P.P. system over the N class system. N class is too generalized.

N class and Gr._ seem like a no brainer for Sport Mode, but the removal of the PP system really screwed over online lobbies. Most fun I’ve ever had on GT was 500, 550, or 600 PP lobbies. You get detuned LMP’s, road cars, track day cars, and Supergt and they were all competitive with each other and made for thrilling races. What a fantastic system. Why take that away...

That's an unpopular opinion?

I bet BoP with the old PP system would result in some good PP racing.

Haha nope, mixing LMP1s with Group C cars is a joke.

I've read this many times before. I don't get it. Why is it a joke? Especially considering that the GR1 cars and GR3 cars would normally be on track at the same time. Seems so esoteric to me.

I definitely agree with this. PD should also include more rally cars in the game.

Ya, because the rally cars are SOOOO popular now. I see so many rally lobbies.

The GrpC cars would get smoked a zillion times over by an LMP1 car, grouping them together is silly.

Plus the visual is a little weird.

I hope it's not an issue of licensing them or whatever. If PD was able to add them in their previous titles, then I believe they have the ability to do so in the future.

Mixed class racing isnt a big deal.

However to just mix cars up doesnt make sense unless you make the rules so that you can ONLY run a Group C car in a mixed Gr.1 field and you get class prizes for doing so.

If you run it as it is now, there's no incentive but to run the best car you have which is 99% of the time not a Group C car.

Further, why is there no dedicated Group C racing? The cars are there as a group... I always see GT Sport as a massive waste of talent and that's largely due to the poor classification.

I feel like GT Sport seeks to simplify so many things that didnt need to be simplified... the lack of upgrade parts and the fact that car weight now is of no consequence.

PP wasnt perfect but you had to weigh up (so to speak) power to weight ratios.

GTS is too focused on VGTs. I understand that this is the direction technology is moving and PD wants to be seen as embracing the future, but these vehicles aren't here yet. For me, it's hard to get passionate about these cars and even the latest machines that are available IRL lack the appeal of older street and track machinery.

I thought it was GT6.

GTS saw only 5 out of dozens of cars launch as VGTs. So such statement is factually not true.

Cockpit view should be the only allowed view in sport mode races.

High Speed Ring is the worst and most boring track in GT's history.

GT has got better with each installment.

GT6's track editor is one of the coolest features ever put into a sim.

The Merc F1 is the best car in GT Sport.

Good pad control. Porsche. But otherwise yep.

Please explain. Especially the first, in-car view, claim.

I am guessing that like me he hates the view where you are driving the car while standing on the decklid, 3rd person view I believe. It just seems so wrong. In certain replays it looks like the car has a stake going thru the trailer hitch on the car and the front of the car just pivots on this stake left and right. (But you can see the 4K backfires, which cars with full exhaust dont really have)

That is multi-class racing, I would welcome that in GTS for sure. But I'm talking about putting vastly different cars that are like 20 or 30 years apart in age and tech into the same category and trying to balance them. It's just not a very smart thing to do. The N categories are pretty awful too.

The LMP1s, group c's and VGTs should all be in their own categories imho. Even Forza Motorsport does this now a days.
