The Mazda Atenza GR3 is the best car.

I would agree with this, Its not outstanding in any area but its such a completely "MoR" (middle of the road) package.

The only vice is 2nd gear can produce sound lurid power slides but I'm good with those.

Its a comforting drive and that's what you want for 'endurance' (1hr) events.

I also think its one of the best looking if not the best looking mid sized FWD sedans ever.

why really, I dont see why it was just boring and life less to me, like racing in a Tesco's Car park to quote Mark Webber, ah he should of had a F1 title too, but Redbull Favoured Ve Jerman.

I dont watch F1 anymore its just boing only the first 5 and last 5 Laps are enjoyable.
But it's just SOOO different compared to the other original tracks...

I dislike corners that are constant radius however saying that, this track has so many variations I cant help but think it would be a good thing for it to come back with all that to run on.

See this is what im talking about look at it, its tribble, there are real world test tracks they could of used or got inperation from I just haded all races on this track

Also Diffrent does not mean good

I hated Complex String, but oddly want it back because it looks so interesting from above. Then I realise I don't know the course well and it's frustrating to actually drive, especially the right angle turns. IIRC there was also a lack of elevation and scenery which just made it more tedious.

It probably has as many detractors as it does fans, but I really do not see the appeal behind Spa-Francorchamps and the overwhelming desire to see the course in this game. I just see it as another run of the mill track that's just... there, when it's already present in another game's track roster. Yeah, it's the host of a 24-hour race in real life but it doesn't feel like it has as much notoriety as Le Mans or Nurburgring.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind seeing it in the game but I don't have the same amount of passion for its inclusion as... some people on this forum. At this point, the track just feels like the Gran Turismo equivalent of Forza's Fujimi Kaido course in terms of the amount of people who constantly yap on about wanting it back.

Now that that's been said, it's time for me to hide behind my flame shield.

I agree with this 100%.

To be honest, I prefer games that have the more obscure real life, or good fantasy tracks over the same x amount of circuits that are in literally every game.

This might sound kinda stupid, but I also wish that PD would make their street circuits more realistic from a barrier and fencing standpoint. Stuff like the older Madrid circuit that was lined with those metal fence barriers and just like, tickertape between wooden posts at some points was kinda lame.

I realize this would ruin the atmosphere of a few tracks, such as the Tokyo Expressway, but still.

Anyway, while we are at it, I will gladly take you up on that bet. Let’s see you name 12 tracks (not already within GT Sport) that are more popular, ubiquitous, and historical than Laguna Seca, and most importantly, would be a preferable choice among fans.

Yes, I’ll wait.

Why pile on the "ubiquitous and historical"? I said they'd offer better racing.

I love how, in a thread about unpopular opinions, everyone goes off to tell others how unpopular their opinions are. The wonderful thing about an opinion is that it doesn't necessarily need to be shared. It only need be supported, sometimes by more opinions. Other wise, we could start a thread called "unpopular facts".

Not in any particular order other than top of my head, my dozen would be. I can think of more, but these are the dozen I would want to see...and look, I didn't even include Spa

1 - The Bugatti Circuit at Le Mans (it's already mostly there, so why not actually include it. It's a better track than the full Le Mans track if truth be told)
2 - Automotodrom Brno
3 - Circuit Ricardo Tormo - It was in Tourist Trophy. Awesome track
4 - Silverstone
5 - Mugello
6 - Magny Cours
7 - Angel Nieto Circuito de Jerez ... mmmmm mouth watering
8 - MotorLand Aragon ... and I mean OMG please!!
9 - Circuit Paul Ricard
10 - San Marino!!!! OMG PLEASE SAN MARINO
11 - Autodromo Algarve
12 - Estoril

For bonus difficulty, Silverstone is not an eligible choice.

Awwwww

Well, then I would take DONNINGTON PARK

Actually, if I really think about it, I'd take Donnington over Silverstone either way

But seriously...Mugello... MUUUUUGELLLLLLO. I think I'm slightly aroused at the thought. I'm hoping to take a vacation to a Ducati day there within the next few years.

Yeah I totally agree with that, totally. 2nd is a nightmare in the car especially if the TC is turned off. But it is a great car to use as a "Middle of the road" machine. And it is a good looking one as well, although I think the livery has a lot to do with that.

Watkins Glen is the best circuit in the world currently, according to every driver that has driven it in anger.
Many would argue that Road America is the premier road course in the US.

All hear say. I heard said that Spa is the best, Never been there so I can't confirm.

I'm still slightly aroused thinking of Mugello though.

In any event, all I care about is room to line up a pass, and the room and opportunity to make a pass IN THIS GAME. I still think Brno is the best for that. It's wide with long straight into tight corners, yet you can carry different lines through those corners. The elevation changes also make thing interesting.

But then there's a whole bunch of old tracks that I would love to see brought back. The old Hockenhiem for instance. The old Mexico City.

The updated Kyalami looks like it would be good too.

Problem is that as far as I know Spa is not a US track, unless of course it has been moved.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::cheers:

TBH it sounds like you'd froth for Road America/Atlanta and Watkins Glen if they were on the MotoGP calendar.

The scenery in GT3 was boring but just imagine would could be done with it in GT Sport. There could be a skid pan, garages, a gymkhana course, stands and a heaps of other fun stuff. IF the track was ever rebuilt, it would definitely make the original look dull.

Is there such a thing? That seems like a SUPER American thing. I bet I could list a dozen better tracks from around the world, that would serve up great racing, before even approaching something currently on U.S. soil.

(unpopular opinion thread)

Road America and Watkins Glen in particular are great for racing, plenty of places to pass and they flow very nicely. Road Atlanta is not as easy to race on but it’s still a great layout.

Edit: If you like Brno, then you will like Watkins Glen, they are similar when ot comes to corner types, width and elevation changes. That being said, Brno is probably the most underrated track I can think of.

Does Belgium have oil? If so, we can arrange for a visit from the freedom fairy.

I'm not really sure if Belgium has any oil but as far as I am aware Korea, Vietnam, and UK/France do not have much natural oil either and the Freedom Fairy has visited those areas extensively in the past, she lost a lot of great young men in WWII too. There was one particular battle called The Battle of the Bulge during WWII where the Freedom Fairy has already made a visit to Belgium in case you forget, you may be able to find some info on it in history books.

And that's all I am really getting at. Personally, I believe there are many tracks that are popular because of hype (cough Monaco cough). Just as I believe ALL the street circuits are a waste of resources because they are all horrible (R246 being the only exception).

If they are going to add tracks, add ones that make the game better.

Naw, they race at Road America and I have tried it (digitally). I dislike it.

As for The Glen, I am not saying it's a terrible track only that it's not near the top of my list.

And there's a lot to be said about the motoGP tracks (although not all the tracks I listed are such). Since motoGP bikes accelerate faster than F1 cars, yet have next to no down force (because, when they lean, too much down force would wash out the front), and only a single contact patch during braking, racing on crappy tracks is a non starter.

Whereas in F1, you can engage DRS, and all manner of concocted gimmicks to promote passing, motoGP relies on balls and passing zones.

F1 can go to awful tracks for the paycheck. Ergo, some F1 tracks will never host a motoGP event, although the opposite does occur.
