No. Points are not taken away.

You score 0 for any race you quit after matchmaking. If that race is also your last entry in a round, you will register 0 points for the round as you only score the points gained from your last entry.

What about the system showing i got 56 points round 1 but they are grey'd out and arent added to my total. So my current score is a total of round 2 and 3 points, but not adding the points its showing i got round 1. I cant find any info on this anywhere.

Looks like they've gone wrong somewhere since it says "After three rounds, the points from the best round will count towards the final score" and it's currently best 2 of 3, but this is how it always works. They don't count all rounds, likely so that being unable to take part in one or two doesn't automatically ruin your season.

Your round 1 result has been discarded for now, but could still get considered again by the season end if you don't achieve any higher results over the next 4 rounds.

Am I the only one who thinks this is the wrong way to do it? In a season like the current one, you will have 3 of your rounds count. It would make more sense to show the total of all your rounds up to 3 and then just show your best 3 after that. Currently, If I have 250, 250 and 250, it looks like I'm doing worse that someone who has 300, 205 and 150. But the reality is the other guy needs a minimum of 246 in another race to beat me, even if I skip all the other races.

I agree, it does seem a bit convoluted considering it's ultimately "best X of Y" at the end of the season. It would be easier all round if it just behaved that way from the start.

The only thing I can possibly think that explains their approach is trying to retain engagement of people who miss one of the earlier rounds by not having them immediately drop down the rankings, even though it makes no difference whatsoever in the long run.

As noted above, the way it works isn't to take your best three rounds the entire time - although it looks like the way it's supposed to work has gone wrong somewhere too. How it should work is:

  • From rounds 1-3 you'll be ranked on your best single round only, with all the others greyed out.
  • From round 4-6 you'll be ranked on your best two rounds across R1-6, with all the others greyed out
  • After round 7 only you'll be ranked on your best three rounds across all seven rounds

Right now, after three rounds, it's for some reason counting the best two scores when it should only be one. Don't worry though, your R1 score is still valid, it's just not currently included; if you reach R7 and haven't set a better score, it will be one of your three best.

Tomorrow's round looks so dull and boring, I'm not sure I'll bother. Maggiore is far from my favourite track anyway and this just seems like a bog standard Daily race C.
Ditto. It's a glorified Daily C and a boring one at that.

Not sure what I’m doing wrong with the Silvia but I’m not on pace with it on any track including this one. I can’t break 2:08 in it 🤔

Finally focused more on the 458 and got to a 2:06.5 and can run in the 2:07’s pretty consistently. My typical fast lap pace is 2-3 seconds off the top leaderboard time so I’m fairly close after a lot more laps than I thought it would take.

Good luck with to all with the SUPER C race tomorrow! 🍀

I don't mind it, it has the feel of a 'season' race and that's fine with me plus I've been enjoying the Gr.4 's more and more recently, it's so easy to find a flow in the track that's very satisfying to get right in these cars. Maggiore has a decent layout for the full version so it should be fun there too.

You all feel free to drop off though and I'll take those points thanks :D

The predictable outcome:

14 seconds gap to the leader and 7 seconds gap to the next driver. I try to catch the pack for one lap until I confuse one of my braking points and lose another 7 seconds. I just drive alone to collect points from quitters and don't want to know more about Nations for the day.

Think that incident was initially my fault (in the red Ferrari). It didn’t look that aggressive from my POV, sorry that it messed up your race. I saw you in the lobby and next to me on the grid, was trying not to inconvenience a fellow GTP member.

Oh, I didn't recognize you. The name was familiar, but I thought maybe we had raced together before. Nah, you were totally fine: he blocked you while braking, and he regained control before hitting me.

Maybe I went too greedy, but I think he should have been turning left in order to make the next turn. Instead, he kept aiming the inside grass until we made contact.

Edit: I've just watched his entire replay and he was hitting everyone.

Phhhhhhhh just not in that enjoyment zone right now with GT7. Todays race felt like a chore rather than something I wanted to. I don’t know if it because the series is condensed into 2 weeks and they is a race every 3 days which is putting me off or if the standard of driving? Think it’s both really.

Todays race though. Enter the GT2 1pm slot EU. Car of choice was the Nissan Silvia. I was going to race with the Genesis G70 as I want to practice that car as much as possible for the Manufactures in a few week. In TT they was only 0.100 difference between the top cars but the top speed of the Silvia just edged the pick.

Quali - awful quali. 1st push lap apparently I cut the curb, so penalty. Aborted asap and just had enough time to cross the line with 2 seconds to spare. 2.08 was all I could do as I made a mistake at T1 and I started P12.

Race - good clean start, but halfway through the lap the chaos started ahead. 4/5 cars all pilled up on the side of the road. The car who instigated the crash was then just ahead of me due to the slow get away after the crash and then as I was just about alongside they cut right in front of me. Dirty block in my view. Few laps later they decided to punt another car off before then been punted them self on the grass 🤣. Back to Lap 2, car behind decided a hit to pass was the best way to overtake. After that they was a few bumps along the way and I found myself in P9 after a few good overtakes. The car who hit me on lap 2 was now the car ahead. I had caught up to them and then lap 7 into the S’s I got along side and left space but they ran in to the side of me. After that hit and the hot on lap 2 I was a bit too cautious then racing them as I thought they would hit me again and cause me to crash. Had a few chances to overtake by sending it and doing some door banging, but thats not my style and I wanted to prove and show that clean overtakes can happen. Just couldn’t get the move done so finished in P9. Not sure how P8 didn’t get any track limit penalties but on the T4 exit they was going off track and not getting a pen.
Not a great result but I’m happy with the result. 88 points for that race.

16 starters and 13 finished. 1 retired to the pit lane on lap 1 (waiting for the replay I guess) and the other 2 quit.

I was in the same GT2 round as @Globato44. Wasn’t going to do this one but off sick with a bad back so decided to do some racing. A few dailies prior to this dropped me down into DR C, just lacking pace and confidence at the moment.

Start was delayed. We were all sitting around in the warmup lobby for 10 mins until a few people quit. Qualified 9th I think. Managed to get through the first laps without much incident but couldn’t make any progress in the Ferrari. Finished about where I started.

Hopefully the Interlagos Gr1 round will be a lot more fun and interesting.

GT3 class
DR - D

Wound up choosing the Lamborghini. Out of the 3 or so interiors, this car seemed very balanced with the 4WD and MR layout. Playing in VR, I've been picky with my choices, usually which shift light I prefer. The Silvia seemed like it was the meta on the practice leaderboards.

Started on pole, about 1.5 seconds ahead of P2 in qualifying.

As for the race, it was uneventful for me. However it seemed like the rest of the field behind me were scrapping pretty good. I'm glad I didn't have to participate with the drama.

Finished P1 with fastest lap. With my recent graduation to DR - D the win was worth more points than my previous rounds, so that was nice.

I was surprised that a tire change wasn't required, 10 laps for GT3 is a short race. Maybe too easy?

That was a frustrating race. It also makes me wonder what the deal is with the Nissan Silvia because I can't find any pace with it but it seems like it has absolutely no downsides in the race.

I went in the SLS AMG since I found it fastest in free practice and I stuck it on P3 in qualifying. When the race started though, it just seemed completely incapable against the horde of Silvias.

I started off holding on pretty close to P2 for the first couple of laps, then he started pulling away. Being in the tow seemed to have absolutely no effect on trying to close the gap.

An Italian caught me a few laps in after some fighting behind and my race immediately started unravelling, as I'd be forced to defend or go side-by-side with someone who'd get past in quick order, and that let the cars behind close right up and form a queue to rinse and repeat. I ended up all the way down in P10 for a while, it was that bad. Hell, I even had a Finnish driver weaving down the back straight a few times trying to keep me out of the slipstream and I swear he was pulling away whilst I was following to stay in it.

My full-length practice pace would have been good enough for something in the range of P2-P4 but I never got the opportunity to show it. Being in dirty air with the SLS felt quite bad as well, but the Silvias never seemed to care.

End result was P8 for 175 points. That's my worst result of the season so far and will never count so I'm probably going to go again.

Right, haven't driven with a gr4 car for a few months actually, I skip manu and dailies which is why. So a bit worried how it goes. Tested 458, Silvia and Ferrari. Fastest in Ferrari only by 1-2 tenths on a good lap, McLaren felt quick despite butchering sector 1 so close to my 458 test time, so going with it.

And yeah turns out I am lacking pace with these cars, 2.07.3 in quali for a P14, definitely could have snatched like 2 tenths, but still just a P12. The race then well, my pace wasn't there either, nor was I mistake free, but funnily enough it didn't matter, because I did good enough. Made a big 7 second mistake on lap 2, and then around 4 sec mistakes later in the race in total.

But it turns out some did even bigger mistakes and then either ragequitting or dalling behind me too far. A driver ahead of me in P9 messed up on lap 18, which is where I finished. Had to defend heavily against a Frenchman on lap 16 and some on final lap too a little bit, but held my ground.

But yeah I take P9 and consider it an important steal, since without others mistakes maybe P12 pace or something. And if you go for an off meta choice McLaren, don't shift above mid revs (even into uphill), turns out the car is not too good on fuel. I had 0.8 laps of fuel left, so there was some wiggle room, but not too much. Just gotta start racing more with gr4 if I wanna do better, but it still possible that like with gr3 I've noticed, is that I have just lost some ground with these typical gr3/gr4 cars 🤔

So 3 best scores so far just over 450 pts. Hoping to get to 500-510 pts, next round is going to be extremely important, especially since I usually do well in gr1 and I've done plenty of high downforce car racing at Interlagos. And also might skip round 7 since that combo is bad for me, and while round 6 is another gr4 race, DT Seaside in gr4 usually been kind to me. So hopefully next 2 rounds go well 🤔. I am very happy it is best 3 scores instead of best 4 or 5.

A tale of 2 races this evening.
First race I got P6 on the grid. A car went off on lap 1 and I got passed. Stayed in P5 for a lap or 2. A Swiss ahead was being mugged and eventually it was my turn. They wobbled out of T2 and I was passed them onto the next straight. Another car had joined us. The Swiss got right on my bumper as I held it narrow and into the braking zone decided to escort me to the outside of the corner. (What a moron!) We both lost positions. However I went wide through the esses and decided to grass it through the chicane sending me off. Down to DFL. I made a position back and went after the group ahead. I got onto their back at the start of lap 9 but distracted myself and missed my braking point. I went right to avoid them and crashed into the wall at T1. The car tried to stick but I got it out without loosing a position. There I stayed to cross the line in P13. I had pace for the top 5 if the Swiss hadn't hit me off.

Next race I only managed P9 on the grid but I didn't have the best qualy session. However 2 cars decided to bin it through the first few corners so I was able to grab those positions. I pulled away from those behind whilst just hanging onto the cars ahead. Another incident saw me up into P5.

One of the 1 lap spinners was fast and I could not hold them back as they came through. I was able to keep up with them a little as they went after P4. For the remaining laps I had a great view of their battle. With no other issues I came home P6.
I'll take that!

Back to A SR very rare for me due to last race in deep forest with SF2023 this combo being difficult for clear racing I was confident for the Lago Maggiore race after several good races in lobbies but the race ( all A A) was a nightmare with plenty of very bad drivers thats a pity do destroy this good game I am very disappointed..you have to look back before every corner…the guys were or pushing you or trying to overtake in the most stupid places..

Second attempt, exactly the same with the sole difference of apparently peaking back over into A+ after the first slot. Qualified P3, ended P8. The SLS just can't fight the Silvia. Absolutely can't do it. I've never had to push so hard just to try to stop myself going backwards, never mind trying to make a move on the car in front. The entire race was just looking in the wing mirror praying for mistakes or for incidents to happen to try slow/undo some of the bleeding. It was just pure stress.

I'd get pressured by a Silvia, it would pass, and then any mistakes it made whilst in front (or god forbid, fighting with another car) would completely compromise me and be ridiculously difficult to punish. Unfortunately I cocked up the big banked hairpin in the latter half of the race by getting onto the gravel and cost myself a few positions in the process. Not sure I would have been able to hold them, but still...

A Belgian sent me a "????" after the race, but I have no idea what for.

@GT5Apex - I apologise if I squeezed you or made you think I was trying to be awkward in the last sector on lap 19. From my view it looked like you'd gotten up my inside and I was trying to leave space to go side-by-side, but then you suddenly lag teleported behind me on my radar. I wasn't 100% certain what was going on.

I was in that lobby too. Was extremely stressful, because the player that spun you around was directly behind me for almost the entire race. He got past me in the end with a, in my opinion, dirty dive bomb and then basically immediately rammed the driver in front of us of the track, all without getting a penalty. Very infuriating unfortunately.

Stressful evening in GT2, presumably somewhere near top split. Butchered qualifying at the 8pm slot and got a penalty on the outlap! Race itself was a recovery drive with some pretty robust defense from most participants. Recovered to 8th or 9th from DFL.

9pm had a server failure..

10pm another poor qualifying, got stuck behind a slower driver and then a group on lap 2, qualified 11th. Race was pretty good, no major errors kept my nose clean and managed to fight up to P4 bagging a decent points haul. Surprisingly enjoyed the combo and track given how vanilla it was.

Since my last message mentioning him was inexplicably deleted, I'll just say that I again had the misfortune of being placed with a certain mid-A NA driver, who has some talent but is apparently mentally incapable of being next to another car without attempting to crash into it. He ended up last, despite having the fastest lap, but not without taking out most of the field in the process.

Yup.....I guess we were both in that one. I've been getting dumped into lobbies with him alot as of late. Like you said, it was a bit of a good feeling to know that he started on pole position and ended up last.

I raced and finished 😁

Qualified in disaster mode. Left good space and read to hit it hard…. Blow T1 first lap and stayed on the sidelines for a while until folks got by. Knew I only was getting one hot lap to qualify now so get it started right and go wide on the first right bowl. In the grass sit and wait to not mess up anyone else’s qualifying and land p14 of 14 on the grid with a 2:14. 🙄

Race went way better and stayed on task. Basically kept running consistently for the 20 laps in the 458 and picked up 3 places in the end. Finished p11 after not quite closing the gap enough to make one more place on another’s .5 penalty on the last lap.

still ended up being my 3rd best score of the series at 123 points.
Glad it’s over lol.

Perfectly average day for a perfectly average dailyC+ race. Could have qualified better, really need to work on that. Q10, finished P7. It was mostly a precession in the front half, and good driving when we were close, so no complaints. (there was an A+ driver in GT2...how does someone go from b to a+ in two weeks?!) Shoulda had P6, but faded in the middle laps. No penalties but no crb, likely becasue we can abuse the track sooo much here.
