de la Rosa vs. Webber... Best dogfight in the last decade !... Good driving from Webber.. AWESOME driving by de la Rosa.. 👍
Oh please! If the track wasnt´so forgiving with those huge tarmac scape areas both of them would be out of the race. At least it shows who the real drivers are. What was up with Webber, trying to drift on F1? :P

And Barrichello defended well his position against De La Rosa, making he miss that turn. Too bad Rubens had no tires already and lost the position a few laps later. But awesome race from Barrichello anyway, I hope him to get better results now in the european races, since it´s not going to be so hot and his tires will be able to handle until the end of the race (hopefully). I mean, his last lap was 10 seconds slower than the race´s fastest lap. Shame on Bridgestone!

Good race for Massa too, score a couple of points and made no mistakes. I hope he keep that pace until the end of the season, maybe he´ll have a chance on a better team next year.

And congrats to Alonso, perfect race again. He´s owning this season so far. 👍

It was an alright race. Outside of de la Rosa, there was not a whole lot extra going on, other than people liking to go off track. Renault and Alonso are pretty dang fast this year and it looks like they are going to be hard to beat. Toyota is also looking pretty good, especially Trulli.

Alonso is on fire this year. I've always liked the guy, and Trulli. Now they both seem to be the two guys to beat this year. Renault has an unbelievable start this year. Alonso is now getting the attnetion he has always deserved. Good for him. Renault has been my favorite team for two seasons now, and I hope their winning streak continues.

I missed the start of this race both times I saw it, so I missed what happened to the Hondas. Let me guess, a restart, and they overheated? Honda need to get their act together. They're starting to look like incompetent morons. Can't they build an engine that doesn't overheat or blow up?

Meh, I thought the race was both boring and disappointing. Williams managed to almost do alright, then drop back to blah. RBR barely got the one point with Coulthard taking advantage of Ferrari's bad performance. A few bright spots, though, Trulli back up in the podium and McLaren doing well.

I have no idea what race you saw. De La Rosa's battles with Barichello and Webber were very entertaining to watch. And it was interesting seeing who's car could go the distance and who's couldn't.

Well, I suppose I thought it was boring seeing a slow car try to block a faster car from passing. I missed the first half of the race, due to recording problems.

a magnificent race!...guess the F2005 isnt the dominant force the F2004 was...at least not yet...this has been a damn entertaining season so far...isnt this the first time in a few years Ferraris new car hasnt won on its debut?...anyway great performances from Alonso, Trulli, and Raikkonen...Toyota is really moving up the totem pole and De La Rosa did very well after being out of races for so long...Alonso is definately looking like a future world champion...they say Ferrari is after him and Raikkonen for 2007...anyway great race and great start to this season...cant wait for San Marino!

Very entertaining race, I loved watching Webber and de la Rosa fight it out, some cheeky drive from Webber, I like it. :D

It's bloody brilliant to see Trulli on the podium again and Ralf in 4th is impressive. I only think it's a matter of weeks until they get a double podium! 👍

Alonso was again impressive, apart from the first few laps he drove a quiet race, from his comments in the post-race press conference he was, again, very confident in his car. He seems to have absolute confidence that the car will do the job, 3 very impressive races from Alonso, well done to him!

Bit dissapointing to see Webber fly of the track like that. There were many drivers who were bloody lucky this track has such HUGE run off areas, I think it's a great safety feature that should be implemented at some other tracks.

This was the first time I've ever seen a Ferrari retire with a technical failure, it feels kind of weird.

De la Rosa get's most entertaining drive of the day, he was fast, showing signs of brilliance, and other signs of complete incompitence.

Anyway, great race, can't wait for the next one :D

At the end of last season. There was a lot of comotion about Buttons contract, and him going to Williams. At the time I thought he had a great package at BAR and was regularly out paceing the BMW's. I though he would be a fool to move to Williams. How wrong I was! I wonder where he would be now if whe was behind the wheel of a blue and white car.

De La Rosa - Man of the race
Alonso and Trulli - Great driving
MS - if his car hadn't given up he would defiantley have been on the podium, and challenging for the lead.

maybe they didnt have one, or maybe they thought, there is no point.

hit the nail on th head, Ferrari had no spare gearboxes due to the fact they rushed in the new car & they had no spares to fit it.

Ferrari should take some serious lessons from this GP, not that I want them to dominate, but if they don't finish both cars in the top 5 at San Marino they will have some serious dissadvantages as the season progresses.

On the other hand Toyota are progressing nicely and it looks like they are using their huge budget well with constant upgrades, the team is acting alot more proffessionally this year, well done to them.

They gave barrachello 6 gearboxs throughout the weekend, and they ended up using one from the old car from what i've heard

I doubt it. He might have been in the points but definately not the podium. His tires would have died and he would have faded badly in the last 20 laps. I doubt he would have ever serioulsy challenged Alonso after the first 4 laps and Trulli would have passed him by the end, Kimi too.

In hindsight, rewatching the beginning of the race I get the feleing that Ferrari and MS knew that there was a good chance that the car wouldn't finish the race. In the opening laps MS was yltra agressive, more so than he normally is, chopping of anyone. He was pushing hard and there is no way his tires would have finished the race. I get the feeling he was driving hard, testing the car. If it finished it finished, if not, we have good data! They did that with Rubens at the end.

didnt rubens have a mechanical failure at interlagos 2003?

If you call "running out of fuel" a technical problem, then yes.

Eitherway, Rubens doesn't count...Rubens does what the team and MS tell him to and thats it.

If you pay attention, you´ll see that Barrichello did that too. He overtaked like 8 cars on the first lap. I guess he didn´t think the car would last until the end of the race too, and decided to have some fun. :D

Ya, thats right Rubens did charge the field. I think Ferrari knew neither car would make the end of the race, or if it did it wouldn't be competitive so they pushed them as hard as they could for the data...
