But seriously, and remember no one is saying anyone is cheating or that their skills are diminished, not one of us currently knows what is legit and what is not. None us know if this bug is binary (you either have it or you don't) or proportional (you have it to some degree). I hit my marks and go 4 seconds slower than the best in Europe?

I'm just super bummed about the whole GTS experience so far. Not enough content on the whole, a "sport" focus but a pittance of Sport mode specific content, content being held back, no curated place for me to race the street cars online, no Gr1 races online, a pointless single player, and now the only mode worth playing is marred by skepticism over every action I make.

Am I good, but bugged to go slow? Am I terrible but bugged to go faster? Is the next guy? I'm hanging on by hope here. This is my favourite diversion from work in my day, but with each day I grow a little more frustrated by the feeling that I have been duped, and I tend to be pretty forgiving of this product.

I agree with spurgy, if u cant tell the difference better refrain from making assumptions or this topic could become a mess.

Bathurst is a very technical and long track. To hit every corner perfect is super hard so the disparity in lap times between te front, mid and back are gonna be larger then some more forgiving and easy tracks.

Id say more then likely your are not bugged at all, faster or slower. But if you are going paranoid about it create a second acound and test for yourself.

Again, I'm venting, so my apologies to everyone, but I feel terribly let down. I felt let down by a GT6 that looked out-sourced and I feel let down by GTS, which is starting to look like a project that was cancelled and then resurrected. When decisions were made about certain elements (like GT League) can be debated, but this isn't the result of four years of work.

Now this. How does this slip through the cracks? How did the testing might of Sony not catch this? Or did they catch it only to be over ruled by hubris? I'm angry, not because I feel I am entitled to more than I paid for, but because I have 20 years of emotional investment being trampled over.

Like I said...angry. The community shouldn't be the ones to be working on this and we shouldn't be in the dark on what is being done about it.

I'm pretty sure I am ok, but I might just do that. Don't mind me. I'm middle aged, Italian, and have ever an decreasing tolerance for massive mistakes like this one.

I didn't drive that combo today. Since I only race 10 lap races (when I like the combo, which hasn't happened since Lake Maggiore 2 days ago), I'm just puting a lap on Alsace. Maybe I'll try it later today.

Wow, did not know this existed.

Makes a lot of sense though, I remember watching a replay of one of the guys that has been posted multiple times in this thread on Maggiore in the Megane and finding it absolutely impossible to replicate his times using the lines he was. That and the fact he was using automatic gears! Hopefully this gets remedied asap, for all concerned.

Ahhh maaannn...You describe a race I had the other day (sport mode) on this track where I completely blew everyone away. Even braged to my wife that I won the triple crown. Best lap, won the race, fastest qualifier. I hope this wasnt the case.

We have absolutely no evidence to think that anymore than 4 people have different grip to the rest of us or that grip levels vary from person to person so it's best to just play the game under the assumption that they don't.

I'm always watching top 10 times to see where I'm losing or gaining and out of the hundreds of people I've probably watched either in replay or on track with me, everyone seems to be driving using the same physics and differences in lap times have always seemed to have a logical reason. Even looking at your lap in that race I can get a good sense of where you're losing time without even having driven the car just by comparing to Turismo-lester.

If we all lived out lives based on things potentially existing but that we had no evidence for we would go crazy, so best just to assume that if there is no evidence for something, it doesn't exist.

When @zzz_pt says Enzo is one of the fastest in the world, he's isn't just talking about on GT (or I assume not), he's one of the fastest in the world at iRacing too, well sim racing in general really, which is where he joined TRL.

Also, and I'll repeat it again, we only know of 4 people with extra grip out of 100,000's of players and we haven't a clue how they got the extra grip or even if this is being done on purpose or not (we are currently trusting that these players are telling the truth as that is the only reasonable thing to do as we have absolutely no evidence to suggest they are lying). So with there being so few people known with extra grip, knowing basically no details on how it happens, or if we did how easy it would be for PD to pick up then saying that PD should have picked this up in testing is and unreasonable thing to say.

So I would say just keep playing this game as if nothing is wrong as that is the only sensible thing to do at this point as all the information we do have at the moment suggests that this isn't very widespread at all.

Please don't go into rants here, you're going off topic right there. Besides, what was done by the community was just spotting the bug, I'm not surprised something as scarce and sneaky as this could be missed during pre-sale testings. OP has enough data for PD to do their own work on the thing, what we're doing right now is just curiosity and speculation.

Also, I'm 99,9% confident the bug is binary, and only affects people positively.

From what has been shown so far the only people really being affected by this are the guys turning the top ten times within a region for the most part.

The ones being hurt the most are the ones that think they are among the best to only find out in reality they are possibly several seconds a lap slower when on equal footing to the guys they have handily been beating since having a bugged game.

For an everyday racer that is not turning leader board times the matching system will adjust for the bug and place them in lobbies with other racers close to their times.

Again if the source of the bug is found and patched by PD the only people that will see a difference are those who were getting the advantage .

I see other areas of concern within the game that tweaking or adjusting would likely positively affect a lot more players so this really is not a major concern for most players in my opinion.

I'm not a fast driver, I'm stuck in B, but from time to time (when I suck...) I would like to sent back to C so i could be more competitive...

Happend yesterday. I joined the FIA race. More for testing than racing, and my lobby was full with SS and AS drivers because my rating didnt reset and is still on AS. I had no chance to be competitive on day 3 without bug. I should be in C or D lobbys.

I prefer losing against faster guys. Lower ranked lobbys are a battlefield.

I would hate to know I have the bug, "cheat" for months, get invited, only to not even be competitive. In my opinion, better to get the truth now than later. This bug could cause a lot of actual fast racers to get bumped off the list and create invalid ratings for those at the top. For a lot of people in high DR:A that can't get up to S (that probably deserve to be there) might be held back by this bug.

Good to know, I always wondered how some people racing in front of me could brake so deep in a corner and then casually clear the corner like they were in an F1 car. Once or twice I tried to emulate them, since I thought my braking points were too conservative, with disastrous results

It's only 4 people that we know of (well now 3) so there is no reason to believe that either of you are likely to have come across someone with extra grip. It's possible sure but every indication we have so far suggests it is very unlikely and not a reason for people being faster than you.

You'd be more likely to meet someone that's been hit by lightning, or has a superfluous nipple or has been kidnapped by aliens than has been affected by this bug. A little leniency should be afforded in this circumstance. Just my 2 cents worth.

It's not that I am salty about people being faster, I just view it as potentially game breaking.

I'm expecting to see a massive drop off in talent from more than just a few. If you're not that good at all, 3-4 seconds a lap puts you into the A and High B group. We have all seen poor drivers in those races and have wondered how they manage to get decent laps in with the way they drive. All we have been able to see, for sure, is a handful of decent guys with impossible laps.

I have wondered if PD have been hacked and the hacker dropped the same benefits on random others so if it came to light it wouldn't be obvious who the hacker was.
That's even if the hacker was playing the game and not doing it out of spite or just showing its possible.

I made a separate account on my PS4pro, and, when I log into GTs it will not let me play online... when i try and log into the network, it tells me I cannot use someonelse's account... something to that effect...

I think you need to set your main account as primary in ps4 settings to carry over PS plus in order to be able to use your mains ps plus subscription on guest acounts.
