We'll be racing --
Wednesday night 7:30 EDT
Group 3 if you have one otherwise Group 4.
If we all have both, we'll use them.
also.. choose from the following:
Mazda Touring car (SS), Radical untuned (may need a new one if you'd altered the weight) SS
and the Honda Civic type R Touring car (SS) we used Saturday
Tracks: TBD

Need to get your McLaren F1 serviced? This is the place. Don’t forget the fuel cell must be replaced every 5 years, at a staggering $110,000!

I think this is the technician that Car and Driver or Road & Track had writing some fluff pieces for their online content giving tips on oil changes and tire care a couple years ago. I thought to myself at the time it was a little bit of overkill for that type of info - if he even did it - he might have just lent his name to it.

Even if I had the money, I don't think I would have the patience to own a supercar with all the nurturing and care they need.

Yeah, and they’re driving venomous snakes that will bite hard if mishandled. Massive respect! Oh, not wanting to trash a $1,000,000 (or more) classic is also a big factor.
Twice thumbs UP for those comments and YES, not wanting to mess up that Snake's hide likely contributes to treating that throttle with the respect it's (most likely) 427 demands. It could be a SB cause they can deliver as much HP as the BIG BLOCK makes but my guess is it's that awesome 427. Yep, that gent can drive!

Thanks Eric,, that is an awesome write up and saweet photos. "IF YOU CAN AFFORD A MCCLAREN ~ YOU CAN AFFORD TO TAKE CARE OF IT!" It' good McClaren demands owners take proper care of them. Can't afford it? Sell it to someone who can!👍👍

We hear that partner. My guess is, folks who own cars of this type have a stable of 'em so sending one out for maintenance isn't a concern,, they just drive one of their other supercars during those days it's away 😁

Interested in joining you guys tonight so just sent you a FR.

The opening scene of the 2nd TMC race includes this scene before the AI mode releases the car to you. I just thought that it is so cool looking.

Ohh yeah!! That little bit of sound led me to this short clip of a dude who for sure knows his Cobra and can DRIVE his hotrod like I wish I could have back when I was a pup. Imagine it is YOU wheel'n this thru the cones,, think you can or could have at one time in your life? No? Me neither. I would have had it thru the cones sideways at the first corner 😁

I am sure he did not use CS tire there.

They got me on the used Ferrari, but I bought a new McLaren. Both cars can be bought new in the colours that you want.

Talk about hold the eff on

Yep,, THAT sweet Dodge in carbon fiber and a huge huffed 3000hp big block flat out ROCKS the track hard for his fans. After 1320 posted that video he has a GOB of new fans! He says his best 1/8 time is a 3:89,, can you imagine running an under 4 second pass, carrying the skinnys and hoping it stays straight!? He has that chassis set up dead on cause it tracks straight as a string down range.

Correction: I did get the LSD to work right with an FR, so far. I still need to test FWD & AWD cars.
GT is never easy.

So, I worked on the Camaro ZL1 and got the differential to a usable state. That is, with such a heavy car, I was able to get the inside drive tire to spin under acceleration first, before the car started to spin so much that it was out of control. Testing for this was tedious. Whether this worked right or not also depended on which gear was used. Lower gears made the outside tire spin first, which doesn't make much sense.

Now, I looked at the Legend NISSAN hardtop, a lightweight car. The only part that I put on it was the fully adjustable differential. Even at 5,5, a fully open diff, the outside tires spun first. Ugh! I will have to try it without adjustable parts and see if it is better without it. Update: the normal diff does it right.

Likewise...I've tried a few headsets recently, but not a keeper. Anyone have a recommendation?
I have tried wired and wireless. The first PlayStation wireless ones (Gold) were good and so were a Steelcase set, both with built-in mics. The Gold had a very good battery life, relatively short physical life.

However, wired ones never have battery issues, of course, and that is what I used after the Gold fell apart. I now use a Logitech G set, from a few years ago, plugged into a USB studio mic (Blue Yeti). There is no perfect solution, but you have to make your mind up about what you can tolerate.

I wear hearing aids and am in the process of figuring this out. My first try was Sony's product made specifically for the PS5. The ear cups are kinda small making them more "on-the-ear" rather than "over-the-ear" in design. This makes me use them without my hearing aids and even though there is a rudimentary tone control, it doesn't give me the treble boost I need to replace my hearing loss that is in the human speech range. I used these during my first and only Wednesday race session with these guys, and I had a lot of difficulty understanding a lot of the group discussion. I will probably be returning them before my return window is up.

I have a set of SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless on order that is supposed to arrive on Monday 4/4. They have a wireless transmitter that offers a bunch of features including an equalizer function, so I'm hoping to be able to dial them in to my needs.

I am in a program to review products and in exchange for the honest review, we get to keep the products. I was offered a Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX Wireless headset (new product, hence the "MAX" designation, with an MSRP of $129). The offer came a few days ago, but I am never sure of when the product arrives, so I went ahead and ordered the SteelSeries as soon as my Best Buy rewards program certificates showed up on my account yesterday.

I am hoping the SteelSeries or the Turtle Beach work for me - maybe even allowing me to use my hearing aids with them. Taking part is a group, verbal "free-for-all" is very fatiguing when you can't hear well. The amount of concentration required to follow the conversation and the different voices is very high.

Thank you both for your input. With so many choices, and my top priority being comfort, I'm going to have to do a little research. But, I plan on having an interim solution for next time.

Even though I live in a quiet environment, I always go for high isolation headphones, whether that includes over-the-ear cups or earbuds. You might include noise-cancellation headsets, too. SONY makes some of the best n-c headsets.

I see above, now, that you are using hearing-aids. A friend of mine also uses them and he ties his gadgets into his Bluetooth hearing-aids. Are yours Bluetooth?

I assume you are directing this to me as I use hearing aids.

My hearing aids connect to my iPhone via a dedicated Bluetooth connection (it's under "Accessibility" in Settings and does not show up as a device under "Bluetooth"). The PS5 does not have a Bluetooth connection and uses RF for headsets. The HAs do not have a mic either - when I use them for phone calls I have to use the mic built into the phone, so I usually use my AirPods when I want to talk on the phone with minimal inconvenience and the AirPods have great sound quality for me.

No, I had a geezer moment and thought that it was gabz that used them. My bad. I wasn't aware of the connectivity issues, either.
