GT 7 Servers are still down...

Still down this morning šŸ˜„
Heaven forbid I might have to go outside maybe even drag my car out of the garage & go for a real drive! šŸ˜®šŸ™ƒšŸ¤Ŗ

you can try your luck in the official twitter accounts of: Kaz, Polyphony, Sony, AskPlaystation, etc.
after you do these, you are welcome to come back here to vent because "no response"
Sorry, but I won't vent, it's not productive and it pisses people like me to no end. I will try to keep a level head and hope for the best that I will have my account as it was and I didn't trash it doing a delete save data from online because I believed at first that I had a corrupted file, not knowing the servers were still down.
When i initially read the "cannot access the server" message, clicked on the okay button and it started the screen setup, and then the music rally, quickly exited and went to GT7, with the 10 minute startup video, after that all I could do was the arcade because it said I was offline. Seeing the startup cycle and forced into the music rally I honestly believed my account was trashed. Now I have to wait for the servers to come back to find out if my account is safe or gone for good with all 38 books completed and all the cars

The reason PD doesn't enable us to use career offline and then update our cloud-save as we go back online is related to the end of GT5.

People used to 'hybrid' their cars by saving their save-file on a usb drive, then altering this save-file on a PC with a hex editor at first, a fully coded tool somewhat later, that let you swap any part you can imagine. You could throw a Redbull X2010 engine into a fiat panda, change the floor/suspension config to x2010 and you'd have a sleeper fiat panda with the engine and grip of that X2010 car.

Not long after the 'hybriding' was being explored some dude actually went further and found out how to unlock every single achievement by editing the save-file of GT5 - you could unlock every single trophy in the game. I was furious when I found out about this, took me 8 months to get platinum on GT5 from day 1 it was released. This was patched quite fast but there are a ton of people who abused this to get trophies and extremely rediculous cars - imagine the Mercedes tank car with a redbul x2010 engine to give 1 example.

It sucks, we should be able to do everything but Sportmode and online lobbies when there's a maintenance going on.
Yes, I know about the problems that game files are changed. And like you, I see it as a huge nuisance and also as a sign that the guys who use it are just really pathetic little sausages with huge complexes. However, the same goes for players who use huge obvious mistakes in a game to their advantage... see the C races... I just can't stand that kind of thing.

That's why my thought goes in the direction that hardly any relevant information can be stored back on the server.
Basically like a one-way street that only allows pedestrians and cyclists in both directions.
What someone does offline with their game files doesn't really matter to me as long as these files have no influence on the online content and any ratings/trophies.

Think everyone should be entitled to some sort of compensation, the fact the game is unplayable when offline is a disgrace for the cost of the game, what about people who canā€™t afford to pay a monthly broadband bill, they canā€™t play this type of game.
Iā€™ve tried from 8am to try get a game just to up my credits and now itā€™s 22:17pm and still no joy
To be fair if someone can't afford a monthly broadband bill I doubt very much they can afford a PS4 or 5 šŸ¤Ŗ

I am still waiting on the servers to come online. Been waiting 6+hrs now. I keep getting this message after booting the game...
Do l have a problem here or is this the same for everyone?
Same here. Been waiting since 7am yesterday and there still down this morning! WTF!! Why are they still down? So very frustrating!!

I don't wanna tell you how to spend your money, but please don't tell me you bought a PS5 purely for one game. šŸ˜¢
In 2010 I bought a PS3 Slim for Uncharted 2 (this was my first console ever after being a long time PC gamer). So you can thank Uncharted for me eventually getting GT5 and GT6 on the PS3 (and a wheel and pedals) as well. :)

In 2015 I bought an Xbox One for Forza Motorsport 6 (this was my first Xbox console). And you can thank the long absence of any GT title for the PS4 for me not buying a PS4 but an Xbox instead and start being involved with the Forza franchise.

In 2017 I bought a PS4 Pro for Horizon Zero Dawn, certainly not for GT Sport. Wasnā€™t even planning on getting GT Sport because the game was such a stripped down version of GT6, but eventually decided to buy it anyway. But if it wasnā€™t for Horizon Zero Dawn I would not have played GT Sport.

Later on I have bought Xbox One X and Xbox Series X consoles as well but that was just for the continuation of the Xbox platform (which Iā€™m heavily invested in) with stronger hardware, not for a certain specific game.

So yeah, people do buy consoles for a single game. Of course once you own the console you will get other games as well.

lol, but literally everything you're using right now is possible because of software engineers. Not sure why you're making a blanket statement on a whole profession, because a bad experience you had at work.

The game itself worked fine at launch as far I know, with no game breaking bugs...so, they got that part right at least. It's not like they knew the update they were rolling out was going to break the game.

What I don't understand is why they didn't just rollback to the previous version, and let us play while they figure out the issue in the background.
"Because a bad experience you had at work"? Dude, I'm talking about the same story, over and over and over. For 30 years. Every. Single. Time. some engineer wants to replace some relays, or controllers, or instruments that have done their job for many years with some software based PLC, or a computer, instead of replacing the item that has lasted for 25 years with an identically designed item, they say they can custom design the software to our exact needs. And Every. Single. Time. It's a cluster for a few years while they work the bugs out, until it's hardware is now obsolete, because the company they bought it from went out of business or some such nonsense, and we have to move on. My point is it's happened over and over and over, and nobody learns. It just seems to be an accepted way of doing things, and it shouldn't be.

Me too 8hr shift come home offline mode is so lame can't access my garage only arcade and very small amount of cars why even bother with offline mode if it's that bad? I didn't know GT7 was online only in single player, it makes no since now the map of the Crew 2 yes because the map is huge ,but GT7 is mostly tracks and garage for cars, tuning and gt auto. Why is online needed for that?
You can actually access your garage.
After you select your car & track & start the session go to settings choose change car & your garage cars will be there, albeit without any livery.

This is just horrendous!

If it ever gets back up and running then it should be par for the course that the game's producers acknowledge the widespread anger and disappointment in not being able to play this game, and compensate the players in a fair and decent way.
So far, things have not been fair at all with the release and playing of this game. So much hype, and yet all we've got is a prologue...and now this. Awful!

I personally think the powers that be have forced a release of this game before it was due. It looked and felt skeletal to me with no solid and fitting structure to racing. Everything just feels tacked on...

Yes would be amazed if there's no compensation awarded here. As in credits, cars or something like that. Basic customer service really after an unplanned outage like this.

I'd be happy with more races, improved economy though.

I alwyas heard a rumor that Japanese people would appologize for delays because its totally uncceptable. LIke a bullet train getting 5 minutes of extra waiting time.

I bet they will feel really ashamed of a delay for more than a day.

At this point the only thing that would compensate would be if the game comes back online and makes all of your progress saved locally so online is no longer a requirement.

p78
Maybe we'll all get a free engine as compensation.
Crosses fingers for 26B... Lol.

Joking aside, I do think there'll be a token gesture from PD - sadly I'm expecting a 6 star roulette ticket which everyone will complain about as most people will get the lowest reward šŸ˜‚

I am way more concerned by the not existing communication than anything else. I mean they obviously have a massive problem they should at least communicate what the problem is through various channels. The downtime needs to be addressed. That's silly now after so many hours of no communication. It's shameful esp for a Japanese company I work internationally and I am actually baffled and worried about the lack of communication.

We can't play the game when the servers go down. Because it's always online. "Don't you guys have internet?" isn't an excuse.
I think you misunderstood my point. I was pointing out that if someone can't afford a monthly broadband charge then it is unlikely they will even have a PS4 or 5 let alone GT7.

I have in fact entirely misunderstood your point. I'm sorry.

I thought you were making a common excuse for the online requirement.

If they came out and said itā€™ll be down for a week Iā€™d live with it and do something else. The lack of communication is appalling and shows zero regard for their customers. People mess up and mistakes happen but itā€™s how you deal with it and how you communicate with your paying customers about whatā€™s happened and what youā€™re doing about it that counts. Thereā€™s no excuse.

PD: "we apologize for that long awaiting.."
Players:"so....what else?"
PD:"20 Millions credits for everybody!!"
Players:"šŸ‘šŸ™šŸ¤‘"
I know people are joking, and thats good to have a laugh while we wait :-)

But personnaly I wouldent even want a huge price, that would kinda ruin the experience for those of us to want to play the game and earn credits to buy cars as we progress.

I just wish PD could understand that they should make arcede, and online players able to use all the cars in the game without having to buy them.

Then make a good solid campaign, where one has to play and earn the cars at a resonable pace as we progress. And not this nonsense where people are literally forced to play a few specific events against a moron AI rabit for 100 of hours to be able to just one of the legendary cars.

Don't worry, we'll probably get something like a 4 star ticket...

with a rigged 5k reward ;)
