What a disappointing session... few times almost geting a 17.2, i will get there! before i give it a break, also made my best T1 (.913), how competitive is that amongst you guys?

@ Alex i havent had that, is it to all people using active steering? lol

Yeah, I just thought I'd pop in here and say thanks for doing that. I have your tutorial running on my laptop at the side to try and improve my times. It's definitely helping me to be more consistent. Thanks man :)

I had a similar session Marky although i think the Redbull made me more tired than awake :( never mind. If only I could put all my fastest split times together today I would have achieved my goal :embarrassed:. Today I had a T2 split of 16.8 and got a 2:17.6 and also got a 16.1 T2 split and got a 2:17.6. If only I could switch and swap parts of laps :P. Non the less Sub 17 is definitely there and after I have got that I'll switch back to my wheel :P.

Personally my best T1 is .940 taking the most inside line which I guess your taking. But looking at the top guys replays .913 should be competitive enough for a 16.8

I tell you what though the pad competition in the UK is very nice loving it :D <3, It's the best on the leaderboards I think Pad wise (Crazy Legs from France is the highest though of course)
 
well still improving, not to much now, and not within the time i used to but i keep improving and that the more important.
I just cant make a "perfect lap", when i'm doing +.074 than lars, i get nervous and make some mistake, and ther it goes, i lose time, hope i can become a bit more confident and consistnt with my times and laps.
 
Does anyone do anything funny when they are frustrated?

Like change camera view to external, look backwards, flash lights, beep horn and turn ghost on/off repeatedly? :P

When Im frustrated, i take my RedBull x1 on the autumn ring mini, increase downforce, lower gear ratio. 16 secs a lap!

@ Tidgney, my .913 T1 was similar to how Lars's T1 is (1st in EU), wide in kiss apex and power out as much as possible without ruining the left turn, i find that more consistant to do that as aposed to a tighter line.
Also had a .914 and .917 but very few and far between:yuck:
 
Ahh ok Marky not looked at Lars's line. Well as I saw everyone using active steering thought I'd give it a go, not really my thing on the pad (Even though I improved slightly) at least. It helps keep the car steady but i prefer more of the controllable oversteer. Also getting back used to it from using active steering is a bit tricky :P.

Once I eventually get this sub 17 lap will go back to the wheel and have a go with that :).

Where do I find the tutorial video, Tidgney, I tried searching forum mate but I must be either stupid or my head is bongoed after trying to improve on my 2.27 lap.

Just set up another account to set some times and see where they place

3:39 8500th Place
2:30 3800th Place
2:15 1st Place

I didnt let the laps register so as not to corrupt the leaderboards.
 
After binning a lap which was .22x off Lars in T3 this morning I had a wobbler and quit. :irked:

I will go back for more punishment tomorrow. :D
 
Been threatening a 16.9 all day and finally pulled it off. Not sure I've got any more left in the tank. Hopefully it will make top20.
 
Brilliant time Rutter! joining the exclusive but ever growing 16 club lol, im sure that will be enough for top 10 in UK.
 
Well done Rutter thats a brilliant time! A time I can only dream of getting lol. Ive been sitting in the 19s for a while now. Not been on for three days. I'm hoping a high 17s will be a possibility for me.
 
2'17.332, reasonaly pleased, .0 T1 .1 T2 0.2 T3 so steady i guess, think ill leave it for a bit now catch a breather from that track. Leaderboards are really closing up! in 7th 0.1 off 4th but only 0.1 ahead of 11th, definatly more competitive this year and people have improved, i guess i had reversed my developement as pace is concerned doing very few time trials since last years GT academy and of course being on pad, a little disadvantage, not as big as i thought 9 days ago.
Fingers crossed i will pick up a G27 by the end of the month, see what price i can get one for:idea:

A little bonus just realising im quickest pad in the EU! but not for long lol

I think i shall go back for another go tomorrow... just for kicks, as im not old enough to enter. Why couldnt this be in august, when i would be... well, i was on ot day one and did manage a complete shock 2 18. With my pad. Stayed in the top thousand all night! I was soo happy! More than topping drift leaderboarda of prologue. In suzuki swifts! XD But now ive got an HD tv and Df Pro (gt logo amd horn button) wheel, i shall go back to it and make a complete fool of myself.
Then i'll tell everyone how ive done! Lol

If you want I'm more than willing to lend you my wheel for the duration of GT Academy? It's a G25 and works perfectly. I can box it up and you can pick it up at my business premises here in Lymington. Let me know and I'll get it organised. 👍

Great job Marky :), definitely does seem more competitive. Hopefully I can take that title off you pretty quick "Quickest pad in the EU" that is :P. But awesome job :).
 
Sphinx, yes i do live in New Milton but your one of a kind! i dont know if i could accept it.... dont you want it for GT Academy?

I last ran it over a week ago and got to 15th, but I just haven't the time to spend any more on it. Have a think about it and shoot me a PM if you want to borrow it. 👍

Going down the back straight I though my heart was going to blast through my chest! Managed to wobble my way through the last series off bends!

@Tony. I had a quick run last night in the Super GT car and I couldn't even keep it on the track! Driving it like a 370z on comforts lol. Hopefully I can pull it together later and give a race 👍
 
Some amazing times being run so far 👍

Managed to get in 3 25-30 laps sessions so far with a best of 17.9... I've been trying to get a chance to have a good long run at it but real life (work and the wife!) keep getting in the way. Not sure if I'll be able to find sufficient time to get in the top 20 this year, which is a shame as it would be good to meet up with everyone again... but I'll do my best 👍
 
Hyper-Dan I just pulled a you I felt really fast, constant .4's and .5's but never happened lol :(. Later though perhaps! My new fastest first sector though of .904

edit: Just done an even faster first sector of .876. Just improved to .347 and have buckets of time left. (TurismoGTI's replay has shown me my weak spots and his, also gave me my new idea for the double right hander which has worked amazingly well I take over .1 off him here!) Hopefully a sub 17 today I know I can do it and I feel so quick again today!

edit2: 17.311 :D, I just need to wake up a bit now and aim for that sub 17 I keep banging on about :P. I know its possible just from my sector times everywhere just have to put it together :). I've broken my first sector, and last sector times today as well as my speed record of 126 mph over the start/finish line legit :).

Hi all, new member - First post

After a few sessions I've just posted a time of 2:19.918 which ranks 226th in UK region

Did that with the pad and directional buttons

Looking forward to beating the 17.5 mark to crack into the top 20 ;)
 
Wow... just tried the TT today and it's definitely tough.

Haven't been able to get to 2'22 yet, I hope I get there tomorrow. 2'21 would be good.

What has been your progression, lap times-wise?

What you posted yesterday, about pulling constant .4's and .5's :P. Thought I'd say I "Pulled a you" :P. But fortunately a second go got me past that :P.

Spent a good few hours this afternoon on and off running laps.. Ran a few .4's again.. a truck load of .5's, Felt like a better lap was about to pop any min, but nope.. Still a long while left as yet :)
