Me too. I'm a better racer that tt'er but if that's the way so be it. Surely though they are capable of putting some sort of LAN together. The GT4 final I did a few years ago consisted of a simple hub setup to connect the 4 pods

Well hopefully even after GT Academy we could have a few organised races perhaps :D?

Win or lose, I have a feeling that I will be giving GT5 a break for quite a while 👍

Aww thats a shame Dessy :(, The day after GT Academy I have a touring car championship race :P, then a league race on Thursday hehe (If PSN's back up of course). Don't think I could stop playing GT :P or Racing games in general :P, love them to much :).

Not really a shame. I see this competition as a great chance to get involved in the real world of motor sport; playing Gran Turismo is simply the platform used to get there.

The amount of practicing I've done with GT5 over the last 2 months has been way more than what I would normally do, and so I look forward to giving it a nice healthy break when Round 2 is over.

I've been practicing some this morning. It's difficult too know what tyres to practice on but I went for sport hard. Probs be completely different on Monday!

Lol, everyone is lurking on here waiting for news.

Well I have some. BBC 5live F1 commentator David Croft will be one of the judges on Tuesday. There are also some pics up on the GT Academy facebook of the Germany/Austria final which I am sure most of you have seen as well.

Ye totally understandable Just meant a shame in general to enjoy gt5 more but I have to say we have all been on in a lot for that Time Trial especially the same track for the period of time.

Well its nice to see the pictures from the Germany/Austrian GT Academy, I have to say it should be enjoyable. I looked at the comparison of TT times to who qualified to day 2 and frankly it looked wide open which can only mean it will be this close everywhere.

I just hope that the bit of running I've been doing has helped my fitness, I'm not to worried about pressups or anything else fitness related.

Is anyone else bringing a guest?

That Calsonic Skyline is an awful pig to drive :)
Curious to know if they were on sport/racing hard for the 3 cars mentioned?
Seeing as neither the 370z nor the Calsonic are listed in the Arcade garage they could be fitted with anything.

From the looks of the photos its a specific car garage setup for people to select from but my guess would be;

370z: Comfort Mediums
GTR: Sports Hard
Calsonic: Racing Hard

Nooooo!! Thought I'd never have to drive on comfort mediums again :yuck:
@markyboy92 pretty sure I was the last in which makes me the under dog :dopey: :sly:

I've already called dibs on the under dog I'm afraid, no practice on wheel as of yet with 1 day of practice to go. Preparation fail? Glad there is a bar on site to drown the sorrows! 👍

Hard to say as I've only ever really used the wheel. Couple of the guys will be able to comment though. Is there no way at all that you can get your hands on one?

Well, no Calsonic practice here, it's a level 20 car that costs 950,000 credits, and I'm a lowly level 18 driver with only 611580 in the bank.

Any quick way to rapidly upskill and earn loadsa money as Harry Enfield would say?

That was my guess anyway don't quote me on that though :P. Could be completely wrong :P.

@ Alex its on arcade mode for free :).

I own one, but I've been really busy with exams and work recently so haven't had the motivation to practice, but yeah I'm pretty terrible with it (only raced on comfort medium's though)

I will be extremely pi$$EURd if it's time trials on Monday! As I think I have said before I am sure I have spent less time playing GT5 than any of the other finalists. I don't even know the tracks apart from eifel.

anyone else not know the tracks?

Not knowing the tracks is the only worry I have, but I think it's a big worry to have don't u think?

Im probably not far ahead of you spud, with another 30 mins on the wheel today it took my tally to about 5-6 hours in 15 months, but when gt5 came out i was on it hours every day with the pad so i know the tracks quite well, espically nurburgring, probably know that better than almost anybody, considered i was racing there about 2-5 hours a day for 1-2 months... but mostly in FF cars so i guess that practice isnt going to help atall considering it was pad/FF cars and 2 months plus ago....
I think its good they are adding move events to qualify (not just pod racing), just wish i started getting into shape when i left school not now but im going to try and continue to get fitter anyway whatever happens, as for if we are going to drive a 370z etc it would be awesome!!! in 60 hours time we will know whos made the cut!

There's a nice read on facebook about the German winners. A quick google search of first placed man Sascha Meyenborg reveals some interesting results.

Wow he has his own site and all sorts looks like an extreme sports person (Shocked face :P). I haven't had much practice at all this week due to my dissertation hand in, but can get quite a bit of practice today after F1 :)!!!

Dessy and Dave have a nice flight this evening! :)!

Hi I just want to mention some great news about my friend Bruno Ferreira who we all know as MEAGAINSTYOU who brilliantly won the wildcard event that they staged in Portimao today at the FIA GT World Championship event.
Bruno having done only one qualifying run at the start of the GT Academy time trial started up his Playstation a few weeks later to casually place himself into the final in Barcelona only to discovered that it wasn't working...it had burnt out !
Having contacted Sony they advised him that his only option was to enter a graphical art competition which he entered and then brilliantly won putting himself into the wildcard event in Portimao against the top 12 entries, he went on to dominate that event and has even won himself a new Playstation signed by Kaz. He even had a few laps in the FIA GT GT-R driven by Ricardo Zonta !

Congratulations Bruno, onwards to Barcelona you go !
