Its amazing how fast you can be rid of an infection if you really want to or need to, one day and its gone, I had a cough and sore throat runny nose, the works now its gone and I've already been running. Phew! Back on track.:)

Wow nice quick recovery! Thats one thing I am worried about getting Ill before the Academy.

But Last night out tomorrow before a week of focusing on the target and goal! :)!

Just a 24 hour bug, get them once a year. The worst sickness I've had is the swine flu, wasnt 100 percent for about 2 weeks!

This place has really died in the last few days. Hows everyone getting on with practice and training? Hope the PSN comes back soon so we can have a few friendly races before next week :)

Aint been on ps3 since the time trial finished, not good, to have about 5 hours wheel practice since FEB last year, need to get practicing.... been doing some exercises, going to the gym, not just for this competition, i generally just want to get it better shape.

If you want some good racing before the finals make sure to check the ISC (link in sig) , a new championship set-up by GTP_Timeattack and myself. You can have some casual races with our group, and hopefully we can be competitive against you aces.

Personally went and had a little go on PS3 last night was outta shape on GT5 to begin with but then got back on the pace pretty quickly thank goodness :).

Training took a little hit for me after a little pavement incident on a night out, still keeping at it though :). Would love a few competitive races online as soon as PSN is up though! :)! Ill be organising a few events for when its up with Saturday and Sunday having some all day events for anybody interested :), I'll let you know once PSN is up :).

I'd be up for some racing. Hopefully PSN will be back up for weekend.

AAArrrrgh!!!! I got a throat/chest infection...right then ! I swear I'm gonna kick this straight into touch...mark my words !!

In the local newspapers up here today two gamers from Newport have made it to the national finals of GT Academy and in other news Billy has married his long term bird Kate in front of a couple of friends and some family members in London. :D

I have this.. :/ Bad times.

Just wrote a long message on my iPhone, pressed send and it crashed! And I didn't copy first!! Aaaaggghhhhh

Right, try again!

Got an email reminder today, (like I need reminding lol) 4 days until Brands Hatch and as yet no nerves! Still looking forward to it in a big way! Didn't like being reminded about the physical test though, lol.

I will be getting there for midday on Monday, what time is everyone else planning to get there?

Lucky for me I'm just a 40 min drive away. Other than Dessy coming from Ireland, anyone else got a long journey?

3 Hour train journey, but I have company with my housemate hehe. Ill be arriving for 1:30ish I think (I'll have to double check my train timetable :P).

Unlike you I am a bit nervous having little practice since PSN has been down but we are all in the same boat I guess.

My journey starts at 4 30am Monday morning. If flight is on schedule and taxi from airport I should be at the hotel for 11. Maybe catch some sleep before it begins :) probs be too excited to sleep though!

Des should be arriving on Sunday evening about 2 hours ahead of me.
@Tigney try to forget about the nerves and just enjoy the whole event, we've all worked hard to get to this final. I for one am looking forward to some close racing and whatever else Sony has planned for us over the two days(except any form of running!)

Hope all you guys have a great time and take as many pictures and videos as possible so I can be even more gutted than I am now :)

I will be up for some racing this weekend. will have to add some of you guys as friends when PSN is back

Hehe I'll try :), Will be nice to meet everyone at least! :D!

Should be at Brands Hatch at around half 8. Might go down and have a swim in the leisure centre to relax.

I wonder will we be allowed in to the track before the event starts? I wouldn't mind having a wander around the course and facilities.

Good luck to all you guys! 👍
The Dutch finals are this Wednesday/Thursday, so I still have some time to practice 💡

Yes, good luck to all

Are you going to practice offline time trials or do you have faith in the PSN getting back online soon??

Anyway, see you this Wednesday 👍

Anybody that is following the GT Academy on facebook the German GT Academy finalists are participating in offline time trials on Nurburgring, Suzuka and Laguna Seca (I'm guessing this is because of PSN), just some information for you there. Will be a real shame if PSN isn't back up for Monday/Tuesday as I was looking forward to some races.

Edit: Looks like all regions are doing time trials now? according to the facebook feed anyway that i'm following as it says "Laps will be different, but regions the same. So will not be able to reveal the settings here".

Gonna be offline time trials most likely. Ah well, it's an old Dutch tradition :sly:

According to DavidK at GTRP:

1. GT-R `07 at Suzuka
2. 370Z at Cape Ring
3. Calsonic GT-R (Bj. ??) at Nürburgring GP/F and/or Laguna Seca

Thanks Hugo, any word on the setting/tires etc? 💡

ps. I'm gonna practice for offline time trails by the way, like you said just like last year

No, not yet. Expecting sport/racing hard. Will keep an eye on GTRP.

Travelling from the south coast, near Bournemouth/southampton so about 3 hours, good they are doing different things to last year, should be a great couple of days whatever happens.... see all the UK Finalists on monday!

I also prefer some races in the finals...you can get more chances to win...

Bit disappointed if it's just time trials. I think I'm a better racer than hot lapper and would add a bit off variety but it is what it is. If just time trials I'm sure a couple of guys will be licking their lips:lol:

The PSN should be back by tomorrow or Sunday, but since the organizers haven't had a chance to do some test races, it's unlikely they will do them on the day, which I feel is a great shame. I was really looking forward to some racing.
