Did anyone else get a phone call today to see if they would be willing to do a newspaper thingy?

Huge congratulations to PASM who correctly guessed the average 200th laptime across all territories to within 1 thousandth of a second! He wins himself a GT Boutique Racer Jacket:

Well done to PASM from all the GTPlanet team, GT Boutique and GT Academy 2011

Thank you very much! Thanks to the GTPlanet team, GT Boutique and GT Academy 2011 for this awesome prize! I am absolutely chuffed. :)

I will wear the jacket with pride, knowing what a great community GTPlanet is 👍 Thanks for making this happen!

A newspaper about what? About the GT Academy?

You might an article in your local newspaper about how you've qualified and what GT Academy is all about etc

Not long now!:)

Flights confirmed for Des and I, arriving Sunday evening

I've been murdering myself in the gym trying to get fitness levels up a bit!
A jog/race around Brands Hatch can't be out of the question, what do people think? The tracks surroundings could also easily cater for a cross country run ;)

Haha was wondering if you were some professional athlete or something. I'd of had to tie your laces together when you wern't looking :sly:

I think I'd still want to tie peoples laces together :P. Lap of the Indy track I wouldn't mind to be fair :P.

Although I have to some how make Day 2 first! :nervous:

No laces, I wear these!

I'm not too bad at running but at 14st 5lbs with no spare weight at all its not really as natural or as easy as it would be at 9st 5lbs. I need a lot of cushion from my footwear, that's all that matters. I don't suppose there's a bike race is there ? I'd love that. All momentum then. :)

haha, my running is one of my biggest failures, never have been any good, not to come last would be a serious achievement in that ha, i cant see it being based entirely on fitness, maybe a contribution to qualifing to silverstone but not the be all and end all of the competition, maybe a 25%-35% contribution.... im guessing

See you all in 10 days!! :sly:

Will be nice to meet some of you, taking my housemate with me so should be fun aslongs she doesn't put me off haha. :P.

AAArrrrgh!!!! I got a throat/chest infection...right then ! I swear I'm gonna kick this straight into touch...mark my words !!

In the local newspapers up here today two gamers from Newport have made it to the national finals of GT Academy and in other news Billy has married his long term bird Kate in front of a couple of friends and some family members in London. :D

Just realized something very interesting regarding the grand final.

It's happening from the 10th - 17th of June and according to the contract it will take place in France as well as Silverstone. This time frame ties in nicely with the Le Mans 24 hour race which is happening in France on the 11th and 12th of June.

Maybe I'm reading a bit much into this, but since Lucas Ordonez, the first ever winner of GT Academy will be taking part in that very race, could we presume they will be taking the 12 finalists over to the event to get a behind the scenes look at how the team get through the 24 hours? Since the final prize is a drive in 24 hour race it makes sense to show the potential candidates what awaits.

It still leaves for 4 days of action in Silverstone which is pretty much what all the previous series' had as well. Your thoughts?

Wow nice spot! you never know with that to be fair, would really give the finalists a sense of the atmosphere and team environment.
