I thought so too, but the times of other (austrian) drivers were updated.
Well they were working at some point. So it's rather a bug then intended behavior.

Hello,
This is my first post here, so hello everybody!
I have a problem:
My time is posted in global timing, but if I click on my region (Austria) my time isn't shown at all!
Does anybody have the same problem?
Hello, yes I had the same problem when I ran a 32.712-It didn't register the time on the gt5 website leaderboards..
I've just had another go and ran 32.762 and this was registered on leaderboard(which has now changed to a regional option) but my faster time isn't registered there but it is on my friends list-weird
Just had a go with it there. It feels like a completely different car so it's going to take some getting used to. Obviously a very fast time can be done with it off, but in 2 weeks time I wouldn't be surprised if most of the Top 16 has used it for their best time.
Anyone know if the registration for GT Academy Germany is now open? If yes where can I register?
It looks like you need to set Active Steering to 'Strong' in order to set a good time. I've been lapping with it turned off however it's probably time to make the change now as the current best time is 3 - 4 tenths faster with it on. I don't have an issue with this assist as anyone can use it, but I feel banning it altogether would have resulted in much better driving.
sandwicheshello everyone. just after buying a driving force gt so i can have a good crack off gt academy. couple of questions on the force feedback settings and power steering assists is it better to have ffback up high with power assist on or what.
thanks
I would be more than surprised if so. The combo isn't extremely hard.I predict 1 min 29's by the end of this, there seems to be loads of time available, just need to hook up a lap.
I've only put in a few laps so far and already doing low 1 min 32s by not braking that late, or carrying speed that well (sliding about a bit too much).
I expect the real good guys to be at 1 min 30's by tomorrow night and then someone will do a high 1 min 29 by the end.

Congrats on your purchase! The DFGT is a really great wheel. 👍
I find that it's always best if you put off all assists, except ABS on 1. This will be beneficial in the long run as you'll have more direct control of the car which will build your skill and eventually use far more of the true potential that the car has to offer. Switching off ABS may make you slightly faster if your good enough, but I would worry about it. I can't manage without it.
Force feedback is crucial as it'll give you information of the road surface and how much slippage (if any) is going on down to the tyres. It's strange because some wheels like mine have very weak FFB so I put mine up to max, but in other wheels (even of the same type) the FFB is very strong. It's all about preference, but if your not sure I'd recommend putting it a little higher than lower. You don't want to fight with the wheel, but you need to have the information too.
Remember, using a wheel takes lots of practice and is very frustrating to start with. It's really worth it when you get used to it though - it makes you faster and adds a whole new dimension to the game. I'd recommend that you also get into driving with manual transmission if you haven't already 👍.
In all honesty i don't think thats possible, the top time of a 1'31.2 is a pretty solid lap already, difference between that and a 1'29 is massive, i think most will struggle to make a sub 1'31 and reckon anyone who does will probably have secured a top 16 place in most if not all of the countries, lets wait and see
PaulJ_85Usually in GT Academy the laps that end up near the final of the competition are the perfect lap strung together... So perfect, that if you haven't even 'entered' the start / finish straight 'perfectly' (i.e. ruined the prior lap to set it up) - then the lap you're about to start won't even be anywhere near.
