Ive got some serious catching up to do:drool:.... had just 45 mins wheel use last night, since last Academy, as ive just got another wheel, so looking forward to it but i think ill need to be on every night to get a decent time by the end as it's just two weeks long.
I imagine it will be harder than ever, will probably be more people that are capable of threating a top 16 time than before and of course 4 less places.

Anyone know of the car/track yet?

It is supposed to be at twin ring motegi in a tuned gt-r black edition

I haven't played GT Academy for like a whole month now and only completed round 1 so I've got some catching up to do. My hope is now, the fast guys go to them wild card events and win them so gives me a better chance of coming close to top 16. If that does not happen hopefully a wild card event is close by to me and I will go to it. Either way should be very competitive. Good luck everyone 👍.

Final Event: Twin Ring Motegi East Short Course Time Trial - 370Z Tuned Car (GT Academy) '08

I think the final combo will help minimise the showing of my weaknesses. That's what I hope anyway ;). Will be incredibly tight given how short the track is.

Yeah, 4th in the world on 8-5, I'm going to Silverstone! :P

In all seriousness, they've got a lousy set up on the last challenge as I feared. You can hot lap it, but if you invalidate your lap you can't continue with a red lap, gotta start again. I can understand that if you hit a cone because you're modifying the circuit but surely if we just run off they can red lap it and we can carry on?

Exactly what i was thinking. 👎 very annoying, it ruins all your momentum.

Unfortunately this is the only thing they could have done as allowing multiple laps at once would mean that you could carry different speed through the last corner to start a lap

no you've misunderstood, it DOES allow multiple laps but if you mess up on a lap instead of getting a red laptime that doesn't count you're forced to restart like any other test. Like I said I can understand if you hit a cone but they should let you continue if you just run off.

Excellent! That's amazing, gotta hand it to Nissan for some spectacular trust and respect to gamers. It's beginning to show to other teams that these hugely expensive driving campaigns aren't the only way to get talented drivers. You never know what will happen in the future if the success continues!

Although this is still a very expensive driver training programme, still not as expensive as a the 'real deal' , it is still a massive output of money. But you can't disregard the massive success of online racers. I think its amazing and about time that everyday people get such an opportunity.
This is much like the x-factor or gran-turismo's got talent of the racing world!

You can also take the road down through the full course a bit if you bypass the orange cones. But theres a stone wall after 50 meters.

I like the car and track combo. It's very challenging and rewards smooth inputs. I'd like to stay and lap all night but I'm quite tired now so I'm gonna leave it until tomorrow. It'll be very interesting to see how much the rest of the world improves overnight.

Hah was fun at the start though, you firstmivec and me being the top 3 Irish

Well its only been open two hours. Let's wait a few days until everything settles down. I expect our fast friends Nismoe-Dave and PR1VATEJ0KER to start creeping up soon as well.

Oh I know that, sure I'd be proud to make the top 1000 overall. I don't have any ambitions of making the finals this year as I'm only 16, if I have a provisional license next year I may try harder.

Well try your best anyway 👍 It'll be worth it for the future. I've seen a steady progress in my abilities in the 2 years that I've been playing with a wheel, so it would be great for you learn as much as you can from these competitions now while you have the time.

Not many of the big shots setting times now...I'm seeing none of the times from the fast guys from MSP, GTRS and GTRP. Sandbagging? I still remember that year when ti-tech suddenly comes out of nowhere in the last day.

It looks like you need to set Active Steering to 'Strong' in order to set a good time. I've been lapping with it turned off however it's probably time to make the change now as the current best time is 3 - 4 tenths faster with it on. I don't have an issue with this assist as anyone can use it, but I feel banning it altogether would have resulted in much better driving.

yeah, but it feels pretty weird^^ i hate those aids, trying to disturb my driving line :D

Just had a go with it there. It feels like a completely different car so it's going to take some getting used to. Obviously a very fast time can be done with it off, but in 2 weeks time I wouldn't be surprised if most of the Top 16 has used it for their best time.

I'm 750th at the moment in the last round, I expect I will slide down the ranking pretty fast as everyone gets to their playstations. I know I can find a lot more time though, especially in the mid section.
I have to say though, what a track. I really do like it.

Edit: now sitting at 309th

Hello,

This is my first post here, so hello everybody!

I have a problem:
My time is posted in global timing, but if I click on my region (Austria) my time isn't shown at all!
Does anybody have the same problem?
