Ti-tech85 1:30.682

No words, I wish I competed in GTA 2012 so I could watch his replay.
Can someone record it?

That's an absolutely legendary time, I'm recording it now, I'll be posting it here:

Btw guys, a countdown:

Haven't had time to have another go today and now pretty knackered not going to give a last shot at it, suprised to see im still 6th really, mega close board.
Ti-tech's .6 looks spot on, very controlled.

Well I went on after the football, and I was on fire, I think a clear mind really just gave me the additional speed, I was using ti-techs ghost just to see where he gained time etc. I actually did my best ever sector 1 because of it I was (I assume because I caught and went through ti-techs car just after the curbing) ahead but sort of misjudged the braking as I had never gone that fast through there.

Anyhow usual stuff with me went on and suddenly hit about 5 million .0's was on for some cracking times, but I do have work and about a million and 1 PM's I'm going to finish answering tonight.

Congratulations to everyone who qualified, and great competitiveness this year really was tough competition! Congratulations to Twissy for #1 UK :)!

Found an alien, someone who can do million of .0XX and reply to millions of PMs in a short space of time :sly:.

Looks like I won't be finishing in top 16 on the leaderboard, oh well. I suppose at least I never did this much :banghead: as I only did a few sessions on this, a lot less than some seasonal TTs. Priorities are not my strongest points . I didn't attempt to beat my current time since setting the time quite a few days a go. I was going to attempt today but was not in the mood and would definately not be in the rhythm due to not playing for a few days. Hopefully I get a call as I know some people are ineligible. I wonder if the top 16 get automated emails.

Finally, its over!!! Nerv-wrecking two last weeks! Hopefully no Motegi on the finals, dont want to drive another lap on this track for the next two months, at least... ^^

Congrats to all Finalists, well done!!!

Congratulations to everyone who could enter the national finals.

Final results for me:

Germany: 613

1:33,034

Global: 6544

Satisfied? Not really.

haha ok over exaggeration, but most of my laps were .0 in that hour which was bizarre I must say! I know a few people messaged me saying 'keep going' as I started jumping up a bit :P. We don't get automated emails :(, not unless that's changed this year and someone hasn't pressed the button, but Saidur you should be going to GT Academy 2012!!! :D!!!! Congratulations, you should get a call as spurgy and twissy aren't eligible!

Congratulations to Everyone who competed in this GT Academy. It was an incredible challenge, and hope you all enjoyed it!

Special thanks to Tidgney for his tutorial vid (you make a 1.31.17 look easy :D )

I believe that Twissy and Spurgy are ineligble/not competing so that means that we should have just scraped through in the last two qualifying spots :)

Bad luck to PrivateJoker who just missed out

I am so mentally drained after the last 8 hours. I treated them as if I was in the knockout zone and needed a .9 to make it. I didn't check the forums or the times all day either. In hindsight I don't know why I did that. Was very surprised to come back and find myself 12th. A little disappointed that I didn't reach a better time but still satisfied to be making it through. :)

Wonder if PR1VATEJ0KER is gonna get in since 3 people above him aren't competing. Fingers crossed for you man.

I ended up doing 5 million .1's (I'm not sure why 5 million is in my head right now so apologies for all this exaggeration!) haha, congrtulations on making it Demes look forward to seeing you at the nationals :)!

I am also glad to be in the eligible top 16 although a bit disappointed that I didn't get close to my theoretical best lap time of a 1:31.050

Congratulations to all the top placing driver, some maniacs sure pulled out some mind blowing lap times. I managed to improve a bit on the last hour. Reduced my time from 1:32.900 to 1:32.856. The following laps i gained some on the first two sectors but lost all of it again on the last two turns, bummer. Top 500 nation wide is a pretty cool achievement thought.

Congratulations to all who qualified, having picked up Gran Turismo 5 and a Driving Force GT for the first time only just a few days ago I guess I cannot complain of a 233rd finish, although I have to be honest, I am disappointed as I was on for a low .31 in sector 1 in the final hour but I failed to make the lap.

I will come to the finals to see you all compete in the live event and put a face to the name!

Props to Tidgney for the tutorial, it was a valuable reference.

Well done chaps!

Yes congrats to all who qualified and may you have good luck at the nationals!

It feels a bit strange if I do get the all clear for GT Academy 2012 national finals. Spent ages last year and was off the pace and was struggling by quite a bit and I don't think I had the potential to qualify even if continued with it. I think SLS time trial was my turning point, I ditched cockpit view for the view most aliens seem to use, the bumper cam and also learnt quite a bit about traction and other stuff.

Now I seem to have good pace in TTs and made four consecutive top 10s in the last seasonal TTs I've competed in. I thought it was due to seasonal TTs being less competitive but GT Academy is probably less competitive or I've become a bit better. I'm hoping it is the latter. Don't think I've got a chance though in the national finals due to fitness and car driving experience if I get that far as well as probably poor race craft / pace due to not really doing many races online in GT5.

Congrats to all that made it through 👍

@Tidgney read that you got the YLOD aswell, i'm guessing the dryer trick worked.. I had a old 40 GB launch PS3 aswell. Got my new one through on Sat, but just couldnt bring myself to have another go and get frustrated with it.

Will try to pop down and actually watch the live event, and put some names to faces.

Cheers

Congrats to all who qualified,
I would have liked to have given it more time but I was away at Le Mans most of the week, so my running time was restricted.

As usual at this time of year all that's left to say is "maybe next year":)
