The UK & Ireland standings is some game of tennis right now. Everyone's moving back and forth and swapping around. I got to 6th last night and by this evening I was back in 10th, now I'm up to 6th again and I assume I will slip down again before I improve again. It's so much more competitive than last year. Also, I now have a feeling that the cut off for us will be closer to .0 than initially thought.

I think it's really cool that we are all pushing ourselves that little bit more this time. Sure, it's a lot more stressful but it means those who make it really did give a big effort.

I'd love to be eligible and in the mix again but I won't be pushing for the last few tenths this weekend as there needs to be a reward at the end of the suffering! Besides, I think I'd definitely struggle to make the top sixteen this time given how competitive it is and that it's taken me about five hours of play to get down to a 31.6.

I've been at all three previous UK national finals (the first two as a competitor and the last one as a spectator) so it will be strange not to be there this time. I love the atmosphere and tension that surrounds them due to the high standard and the stakes being so high.

Good luck to all this weekend and those who make it through.

Same here John its hard to punish yourself if you're not entering, I'm not interested in this competition any more but its always fun to have a go at a level-playing field style online TT so I'll probably have a few more sessions before the end, I'm gonna clean out my G25 pedal box because the brake was dragging again without the brake light coming on (I couldn't understand why even if I got a better exit I was losing ground under acceleration) so I tried driving with the old wheel and its not too bad apart from the brake pedal of course.
Is Twissy GTDrivers_Moose? I'm only asking because of watching the ghost or is it someone new??

Shame you won't be at the final David, you're part of the furniture now! Agree about the level playing field, simple, sit and go TTs - it's been sad to see the lack of these in GT5. A big oversight in my opinion although I'd have been happy if GT5 had been a simple extension of Prologue with all the extra cars and tracks!

Small improvemt to a 01.31.335. I hope it'll be enough to stay in the top 8 because I haven't got time to play. Next and last try will be on sunday.

You definitely don't have to worry about me kicking you out of the top 8. Just can't get the hang of trailbraking in the last 2 corners. Can keep up with your ghost quite easily, but then it's over, especially through the last turn.

Hope you make it to the final 👍

Just did a 1.31.156 putting me in 9th in the UK, then I looked at the leaderboard and saw I was only 0.001 faster than 10th and 0.002 faster than 11th, which shows how close its getting. :)

Tidgney
40gb Fatty model :S. Bit random to be fair doesn't feel warm at all, might try this hairdryer trick!

Hairdryer could work, only for a very short while. Or if you know what you are doing you could always try a reflow with a heatgun, but the problen will always come back. I would try to get it reballed which lasts a long time compares to reflowing. Just be careful with the hairdryer, you could melt the plastic and affect some of the other components.

This happened to my brother a year ago. Hairdryer will just not work. (not at all for me)
It needs to be hot enough to slightly melt the solder under the chip.

When I did it, It only extended the life of the ps3 by a few months.
And the fans were on full speed non-stop. Results vary

You need a heat gun, I got one for €20 in a hardware shop.

May I ask why you are looking for a copy of Forza 4 and an Xbox so urgently?

RedBull Gridsters event at GoodWood. GT5, Forza and F1 2011 I believe are the games that the competition uses.

Well It's on again taking a quick backup if it goes again I'll go buy a another PS3 tomorrow. Main thing was to get the disc out :P!

It's an insane prize :D!

Wish more stuff like this was happening in Ireland. We don't even get a wildcard :yuck:

And speaking of the wildcards, Anzel Lai qualified today at the London event. Some of you may remember he was one of the two wildcards last year along with James Hudson.

Just went 4th in the UK, if anyone watches my lap i bet they'll wonder how im anywere near the top it looked really poor, three of four corners i nearly lost it somehow crossed the line .1 better than ive managed before. Now the pressures off although i was almost enjoying the adrenaline of being near the drop zone.

Everyone make sure you are registered and you got confirmation email.👍

Better hurry into the 31.0s Tidgney, the cut offs now at 1.31.189! (Not including people who are ineligible but still :D)
Just did a 1.31.077, went a bit too slow through last corner so lost a couple of hundredths. Stopping now, may have another go tomorrow, dont think the cut off will go down that much, but knowing my luck Ill go from 6th to 16th overnight :D
