They don't reveal information, it only got spread around because a few finalists mentioned what they used. But they wouldn't really want it passed around otherwise you'd just do a million and 1 laps around each combination :P.

Yea they won't be revealing combos but surly someone from the other finals will let the cat out of the bag!

Yes wouldn't it be a shame if you were to work your a£$e's off for weeks and weeks to find out that someone got tipped off the combos before the finals.

Recieved an e-mail that I'm on the spare list (finished 13th). I think I'll have to be very very lucky to snatch a place in the finals :guilty:

This thread has been pretty quiet recently. How's everyone doing? Any more info or pics from the other national finals apart from Spain? I'm interested to see how they went.

hey,
i had no time to practise for the last two weeks, so im not doing very well. at least, i hope i will get some practise the week before the german finals.

I was looking for some footage from other finals as well, but couldn't find something else than spain. I'm especially interested in wich wheels will be used. Seems that they use the t500 in the US other than spain, where everybody had to go on the DFGT.

I think on the european finals they will still use the DFGT. it's a shame, cause im only able to practise on the t500.

If anyone does have information, even in the form of tentative dates, regarding various GT Academy regional finals, please do share it. I'd like to offer more coverage of them on GTP's news blog, but I only receive information from Sony about the U.K. and U.S. events, and it is surprisingly difficult to find information on other regions.

I will only start practicing when it's confirmed that I'm eligible to participate :D My driving license is not issued in Germany so I'm not sure if it's ok or not. Hopefully I'll get some confirmation soon after tomorrow.

Jordan:
It's 21-22/7 in nürburgring for Germany. Other than that there's not much information tbh

You probably already know, but the u.k is the 17th-18th of this month..

Portuguese finals will be held on the 13th and 14th at Autodromo do Estoril:nervous:

16 drivers qualified plus 16 wild cards

Hey guys, what wheel do you think we will be using in Silverstone? I noticed in some GT Academy videos from last year that there are six t500rs equipped race pods in the Stowe complex. Whether these were just for show or are still at the circuit is anyone's guess, but in the latest photo shoot with Jann, Lucas and Jordan, there is one in the shot as well.

My gut says it's still the going to be the DFGT though. The organizers probably want to use the same setup as the other EU finals. Also, the event appears to be happening in the BRDC building, not the Stowe complex which to me suggests the crew will just bring along last years equipment. Thoughts?

My guess would've been the Wing (great conference facilities) or around the interior Stowe circuit. Where's the news on the BRDC building?

My flight itinerary says that I will be collected from the BRDC building when leaving on Wednesday. Of course this in no way confirms it will be happening there, but the Stowe complex and especially the Wing would cost way too much to rent for a small event like this.

The driving activities will more than likely happen in a car park since the Stowe track costs around £20k to rent for a day and there's no way that sort of money will be spent on this stage of the event. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see it happening any other way.

EDIT:

Just had a look on Google Earth.
On the left you can see the BRDC building in white and to the right there is a carpark that looks suitable for the cone course. That's my prediction anyway, but I guess we won't know until next week.

Always next year! i'm going mental and splashing a few quid on the screens / stand / seat and wheel haha!!! Not that it makes any difference but i'm sick of the weather in England and decided against an R6.

In Italy bad GTAcademy: 6 players, 2 laps @ Rome: ridicolous. And in the final event 6 players with Calsonic GT500 @ Suzuka....the winner @Suzuka crash with others with no fair and Win...no penalty for him...

People just don't get it do they, the competition is a complete shambles. The only person they managed to find that genuinely embraced the whole concept was Lars Schlommer and they set him free.

Sorry to hear things were a bit rough for you all in Italy. Has any coverage or photos from your event been posted anywhere?

I have a forum: GTClubitalia.com, I'm a founder and two forum's drivers 'll go to Silverstone.
I have some videos (search gtclubTV on youtube, and some photos gtclubitalia on twitter).

One finalist win the final becouse he crashed with some players and the last corner he give me out, so I lose from 2° place to 5° place for him.
And for only 1 (ONE) point I'm not a finalist. This is the true.

As I was unaware I could complete gt academy being from Australia, would anyone be kind enough to set there prize cars to online/share and send me a friend request, so I can complete seasonal events. Thanks

Might want to consider a thrust master 400 wheel. it's the wheel they used at uk finals. a lot of people weren't too happy with it as most use a G25 or G27. Don't know if they will have same next year? Also the tyres used were racing hards in all online battles, which basically gets you thru to final stages (final 12). Again may be different next year but who knows? Don't spend too much time in comforts or sports!! I was a guest of a finalist who got to final 12 so was an eye opener.
