Might want to consider a thrust master 400 wheel. it's the wheel they used at uk finals. a lot of people weren't too happy with it as most use a G25 or G27. Don't know if they will have same next year? Also the tyres used were racing hards in all online battles, which basically gets you thru to final stages (final 12). Again may be different next year but who knows? Don't spend too much time in comforts or sports!! I was a guest of a finalist who got to final 12 so was an eye opener.

I didn't mind the thrustmaster wheel.. But I did find it didn't fit the pods very well. It was up to high and blocked the screen and also sat to far forward.. I no the shorter guys had to sit on pillows!lol

Just received an email re race camp. They didn't give anything away re activities etc but I guess that's to be expected. Everyone will be meeting at airport then coach transfer to Silverstone. The dates were 17th - 26th Aug.

The excitement is building :)

Yeah they didn't give away too much did they :P A whole 9 days over there is pretty insane though. I assume on the first day we'll probably be getting fitted for our race suits, doing interviews and having other video material filmed for the show.

And yes, the excitement is definitely building now 👍

Good luck guys :)!!! I will definitely be watching the program when it comes out for sure :D!! I guess you won't be able to reveal little snippets on facebook :P!

Well win, lose or draw (is that even possible), I'll be writing up a very detailed account of everything we get up to. Of course if we are told not to speak about certain activities during the event I will obey that request, but one way or the other I plan to document each day when I have some down time in the evening and share a little of what I can with you guys.

I am on my way now to circuit Zolder togheter with TRP_NOSS and Hmg-Stef :D.
Car is super hot

//EDIT.

We all passed on to second day :). NOSS and Stef both 37 points and I had 36
Combo's were 370Z on Rome SH 5 laps the best one counted, 370Z tuned Tokyo SH 3 laps combined and GTR Academy car on SH Nordschleife only one lap no warm up.

Wow 10 laps!! We just got 2 laps.. No chance to climb back if bumped off track!

I messed up the first round with the calsonic. Went for save which gave me a poor 5th place. Media test again 5th. From there on all my hopes where gone. Surprisingly i did really well in the real car test which gave me enough points to jump to the 3rd place. In fitness i was top 4. Happy with 3rd :) next 4 weeks i will work on my fitness.

Btw in the dutch finals there were no head to head races. All timetrails. Day 2 timetrail was with the calsonic on sh tyres. 10 laps on grand valley east reverse with no practice or in lap. Total time counted.

Congrats to the guys from the netherlands and offcourse the 3 belgium finalists.

I Just missed it (4th place). So i'm a bit dissapointed, after finishing the first day in first place. Was not pushing enough in the Calsonic. After a few laps i was going faster and faster but i didn't trust the grip in the first laps. Racing online flooring it in 3th gets it sideways, but it didn't even went that sideways flooring it in second. Maybe if i didn't go first.... But i think my real driving test wasn't that good either. Alltough according to the judges, I aced my 4th try.
Pushed myself hard in de fitness, still feeling the pain and blisters :) by the way. Think 3th place and a 3th place in the media-test wich was mainly in french, wasn't enough to make it back in the top 3.

Anyway, next year i'll be ready!!

Good luck to the benelux team!

ps: Hope Stef's knee is on the better hand.

Had 2 great days at Zolder and I'm real happy with place 4 in all the TT's, dropped 5th place in the end.
Not bad for an "old man" compared to the other guys with no physical condition whatsoever :sly:

Congratulations NOSS, CICO and Djie I'm sure you will do well on Silverstone, ENJOY..!

And I agree with Sven, lets hope Stef's knee will heal good and fast.
I've been there and it's a nasty injury that takes a lot of time to heal properly :ouch:

Can't wait to see you guys run amock on tv xD

Pretty amazing stuff, allot for you have raced online with each other, now many of you have and will do it for real, pretty awesome stuff. Well done to everyone and I wish you all the best of luck

I'm quite surprised that nobody wrote anything about polish finals, which ended tuesday.
Two polish drivers (Tomasz Bogusławski known as Gusbo and Krystian Korzeniowski known as KrisNBRone) won ex equo and will fight at Silverstone with the rest of Europe.

Congratulations to all european finalists and best of luck guys!

I was wondering when Germany and Russia would have their finals so I did some digging. They will run simultaneously starting this Saturday 4th until Friday 10th. It'll be interesting to keep an eye on what activities they get up to because I assume ours won't be too different.

i was only first day at the austria finals, 2nd day i didnt want go there cause the wheelstands was very very bad, old, and some was broken! of 5 wheelstands i think only 1 worked normal!

on the pictures from other GTA NF is see all the new wheelstands, darian (italien winner) told me that at the Italian NF they used G27 wheels! how fair is that for austria ??? lol, austria get the old destroyed thinks

thats a disgrace for Sony & Nissan !!!!!!!!!!

the other think i didnt liked was that an GT Academy was driven as an ARCADE game ???
does this game not life from the Simulation ???

how bad was this ARCADE MY ?

the thinks i liked was the really nice people there (the driveres & the organisation crew).

grats Sng1992 & reisi for silverstone!
wish u good luck there!

Thats a shame mate :( U did a really quick time at GTACADEMY! I really hope that next time u could go to Silverstone, as i hope that PD make possible a GTAcademy for South America.

i´m with you in most points, but playin on arcade doesnt change the physics engine!

it just means you have a quicker menu for choosing cars and tracks.

all in all it wasnt well organised...
to many differences between the racing pods,
tv´s in different sizes and heights,
worn out wheels, wrong working pedals,
one game wasnt patched so it had different ffb,
grip levels and penalty rules,
two huge wrong decisions from judges... nuff said

but still driving in the real car was awesome, you should have been there!

Remeber the wheelstands from Game City in Vienna, horrible thing... except Audi simulator, but it's another world. Such a shame that douring GTA the organisation didn't prepare well.
But I'm glad to hear that sNg and reisi will go to the next level. Good luck, guys :)
