I was penalized because they thought the spin was enough to warrant a penalty, I assure you it was anything but intentional. And seeing that you still are continuing to argue, even after I gave my apology (both in person and on here), I think says more about you than anything.

First you knock me out of the competition with your driving, and now you are trying to insult my character. Enough dude. I probably should have listened to our fellow competitors and taken you outside for a different type of 'conversation'. However, I took the high road and didn't take it there. Enough with the insults, improve your driving and racecraft - problem solved.

I'm not the one who won't accept the apology, and let it go. And for the record, I believe I stated that I would have preferred you confront me in person, and settled it then.

P.S. Also, considering this isn't your first confrontation with another driver, and the fact that I've never argued another player, much less threatened, I think explains this. And if "conversation" wasn't a threat, then I must really just be scum.

I'm happy that I didn't confront you in person at the time - I was too pissed at the moment.

As for a previous issue with another driver, we discussed it and he apologized for his driving move. I also apologized to him for initially discussing the incident it an online lobby. I went up to him at the finals and shook his hand and buried the issue. Again, I took the high road and wanted to bury the issue and move on.

I'm done discussing the issue with you. We will continue to disagree on how it played out and who is ultimately responsible.

Sorry to our fellow GTP'ers for having to listen to our venting. Congrats again the 2012 Silverstone 16.

I too apologize to everyone, I wish it wouldn't have happened this way. As for my closing statement to you Daryl, you accepted that guy's apology, why won't you accept my multiple apologies? So yes, that does make me believe you have a personal gripe with me. If you wanted to bury it, like I stated I did, you would have accepted it sincerely.

Congrats to the 16 finalists who have made it to Silverstone, don't forget to pack your sunscreen.... Good to see an old Forza player making the cut, well played Scooty!

The repercussions of your actions at the finals were different than an online race with nothing but GT5 credits and respect on the line. There is no way to compare the two situations. It's over, please don't direct any more posts in my direction. I'm done discussing it.

Hell yeah! Scooty deserves the opportunity and I know he will go far in the competition. Wish I could be there with him, but if I had to choose between the two of us for who would represent TRC, it would definitely be Austin. We're all rooting for you bro, make us proud!

Daryl, even though we only spoke very briefly I was glad to have met you. You seem to be a genuinely nice guy and a class act. I had no idea about what happened to you in your races or how/why you were eliminated until after you left, but you handled it with dignity and respect. I look forward to seeing you next year and getting to know you better. We both have to make it to Silverstone next time so we can show these youngsters that the old guys can race too...lol.

Yeah it's unfortunate you were just off the cut, anything can happen at the nationals. Besides, you've won enough on Forza as it is! :sly: Got two TPR members at the UK nationals tomorrow (Dantastic and Daveyskills) so hopefully they can both represent at the European final!

and my goal is to drop 20 lbs by next month.
That's a seriously dangerous idea, that could cause some long-term damage to your health. Don't do it. Just focus on fitness, which you can improve cosiderably in a month, but don't overdo it too.

Thanks Darrin! I appreciate your kind words. You really impressed me with your performance at the finals. Keep your fingers crossed, there may be an outside chance that someone can't go to Silverstone for any number of reasons. I enjoyed getting to know you and will certainly be hoping to see you accomplish your goals next year.

As for next year, it is too early for me to commit one way or the other. For now, i'm going to concentrate on spending more time with my wife and son instead of countless hours of practice on GT5. Best wishes to you on achieving all of your goals.

^ this... if you needed to drop 20 lbs you should have started last year. Weight loss > ~5 lbs per month is for the morbidly obese. Do lots of cardio to get your fitness level up and don't worry about the scale.

BAH! I embarrassed myself on day 2 and really felt that I wasn't on the level to compete with the other finalists. But hey, thanks anyway! I keep replaying the races in my head and remembering all the points that I squandered when I only need 1 to get me through. Its maddening to say the least.

Family time is important, I've got 3 kids of my own...a 9 year old boy and girls who are 6 and 3. But the first thing I did when I got home yesterday was order a G27 so I can get serious about GT5, because I'll be damned if I show up to the finals so unprepared again!

Definitely. I lost 20 pounds in 2 months prior the national finals because I buckled down my diet, and ran 5 times a week. That's all you should do, and the weight that comes off will be meant to come off. My brother lost 30 pounds in two months by simply starving himself, and paid the price for a while with nausea, cramps, back pain, migraines, and so on. Nothing long term luckily, but He learned his lesson.

If I could thumbs up on my phone I would. With that being said anyone out there wanna sell a thrushmaster. I think I'm the only one that actually liked it. Darin hit me up for some practice or maybe we could even join a series to hone are gt5 skills. Its on next year.

Make sure you add me on psn to friends list so whenever your on we can run some practice. And i look forward to racing with a bunch of the others throughout the next year. I will definetly get myself more used to sports tires. Still like i said before it was a great experience and was awesome to meet a great group of guys in person. 👍

Ill definitely be sending friend requests to everyone from the finals once I get back on the PS3. Still haven't unpacked it, and probably won't until my wheel gets here.

I think I might start a GT Academy spec racing league using the Nissans to practice for next year. I'm definitely not 100% happy with my performance this year and know I have the talent to perform well at Silverstone, just sucks a couple instances I was taken out or pushed wide and lost time or even a position due to someone elses driving. Only one time was it my fault I spun. Either way making it next year is the plan. If some of you guys want to do the Nissan spec racing like we have been for practice let me know and I can start trying to get something organized like finals. Also, I'm thinking about starting a facebook group for us finalists so we can keep in touch and know who is who a lot better.

That sounds good. All of it lol.

You should really just do a variety of racing leagues around GTP. It's not an accident that lots of the final 16 are people who I've been racing with regularly over the last year.
ALL seat time is good seat time. Be a racer not a gamer.

We have one from last year. Great way to keep in touch.

Half? of this years finalists have raced in my Miata series. :D

(Tip: race in my series, you'll go to Silverstone!)

Too bad for all the guys next year then since you ran your last series a few weeks ago :(.

I generally do a lot of different racing anyways cause I get sick of doing one kind of racing, have raced a few of the guys before in some different rooms so I knew some of them were fast. Just thought it would be cool to run a series and have it setup like finals were.

As well, just created a facebook group for us finalists for 2012 GT Academy. Feel free to send requests if you were in the top 32, others will be ignored just because I'm trying to keep it the 32 (or 33 technically) for the guys I've met and got to know over the last few days. And as hunk just messaged me, I know some of you don't have a facebook lol. Either way the link is provided below!

I don't have a facebook page either (for certain reasons), but I'm going to keep in touch with everyone as best I can. I'll also try to race you guys too. It's going to get harder with college coming up, but I'm gonna try. I'm still not sure if I'm entering next year (what happened to me has really stung, and I've had some more difficult times lately), but I want to stay fresh if I do.

The pain goes away...mostly. =P I'm sure you will be refreshed and ready to go by next year's comp.

 True. There's just other things personally right now that are just sort of adding on. But my problems are my problems... sorry.
