That would be cool and a lot less lonely lol, I haven't even been contacted yet by anyone apart from the camera crew, I want to make sure that Tim got my signed forms and that it all checks out. Wish they would at least keep us somewhat updated haha, but I guess it will take some time to get a solid plan for all 16.

Yeah dude I'm with ya :P I sent mine UPS so I had tracking info...soooo i knew it got there...
 
Not sure about you west coasters, but I had a direct flight to Atlanta, then made the leap across the pond.

Also, HUGE tip for those going to Silverstone, make sure you get the address to the racetrack and a phone number/name to whoever is taking care of you guys. I was not aware I needed this, and damn near couldn't get into the country when I landed. Thankfully I was able to convince one of the guys there that I would be staying at the track and he had actually heard about the competition so knew what I was talking about and let me through. :nervous:

Yeah, it's for that little paper they give you in the airplane before you land.

I was going nuts because my cell phone obviously wouldn't work over there and I had no other way to get ahold of someone. So I paced outside the gate for a while before asking someone if they had a way I could get the address for the track. Conversation turned to the competition, and they let me through. :crazy:

I have both US and UK citizenship/passports so I don't think I'll need to do that, will probably avoid a huge line for international customs too!

Anyways sorry to hear about Patrick and I hope he get's everything straightened in time for next years academy if anything Patrick should have no problem qualifying sometime in the future...Patrick if your reading this you have support from the Community.

Is Patrick not going to make it to Silverstone this time around? What Stig issues are you referring to? I've been following the Finalists posts and have been eager to keep up on their progress. Cheers!

Don't know if i was supposed to say anything though. Guess the cats out of the bag now. I'm happy that Darren made it in because he was a pretty cool dude, but on the other hand i really feel bad for Patrick, but i kinda seen this coming. I have a good feeling Patrick will be back next year if allowed and once again be a force to be reckoned with.

I think they missed their chance of having Pat be a driver or be involved with them in any way. By the time next year rolls around, I think he'll be onto bigger and better things! 👍

Not to sound completely ignorant here but i don't see anything bigger or better coming along in the next year then this. I completely understand he is upset over the situation but to give up and just quit on a dream is kinda dumb especially when your talented enough to make it. I may be off base and just assuming but unless he's got a career lined up making super good money or he gets a legit shot in a real car then there is no reason to give up. Not trying to be a dick in anyway but i'd hate to see the kid quit on a dream because of the circumstances.

Nah, nah, nah. I didn't mean to imply that he was giving up on his dream in any way. I definitely wouldn't allow it. I just meant, by the time next year comes around, he'll already have something better lined up in the field of racing. I got some insight. It's lookin' really good so far, I gotta say, and he deserves it! ;]

The car cannot be traded. Only option you have is for someone to share it with you. I could do it but i'm not near my ps3 the comming days.
 
Guys I've been in Silverstone for the last 8 days and made it right to the end. All I can say is you have a hell of a week ahead of you. Enjoy every moment, you may never experience anything like it again!
 
Thanks so much for the awesome words of advice and encouragement Dessy. Really look up to you. There's five of us US finalists here on the plane going from Philly to London, Darwin, Rees, Nick, and Jeff Lund.
