Where is the power?
I am trying to keep up with top ranking players on GT academy and they just leave me for dead
I tried my best and I simply can't go any faster
Is it me or are these people really good?

Almost exactly, yes. :)

Stop spamming different threads with your question. Just wait for someone to answer.

It's not your game, the top guys are ridiculously fast. They are incredibly smooth and know just how to get though a corner. Try running one of the events a hundred times or so and try different stuff. Do a complex one with more than one turn and see where you are losing time.

Good luck.

You are just as good as those guys, you just need to put in some more time and figure out what they are doing differently.

Fixed

That could be a recipe to drive someone insane. "I know I'm just as good as those guys." :):):)

I see you got quicker on 4-3, Nice job. Talking about driving someone insane made me think about it. (that would be me)

^^lol, I can understand what you mean, it'll drive me insane too...but I guess it depends on the attitude you have coming into the competition. I don't know, I'd like to think I am just as good as the guys at the top. :D

How many times are you going to ask this question? You started your own thread sking the same question. Wasn't that enough for you?
Anyway, its just you, keep practicing.

At least now all he has to do is copy/paste in the other 300 threads:sly:

Pedals are definitely better on a G27. I would keep in mind though, chances of the DFGT being used at the National Finals is pretty good so if you can keep using it I certainly would. For now I would just do the bungee trick. Than, if you make it to the National Finals, it's best to take them off and do practice races with people not using them.

I was wondering if they'd use the T500RS' as they are the "new kid on the block" - but that's probably a bit too much hoping.. I sure am happy with mine since going from the DFGT to the G27 to the T500RS, a serious leap in feel.

I think they are trying to keep it even by using the wheel that's most obtainable to everyone.

That statement makes sense for sure, I hope I get to find out what wheel they are using first hand after 8-5.... It's a big hope but after all it's a big competition :D

Physically, anyone with normal working hands and feet can place the same inputs into the pedals and wheel. The biggest problem is the mind. Some people have habits that they dont even notice themselves which slow them down, while others just cant quite figure out on their own the absolute fastest way around the track.

Most fast drivers can figure out the "consistently quick" way to get around the track, which is what is used in races most of the time. Then there are the guys who go beyond that to find the absolute fastest lap possible from experimenting different things throughout the track. They already know the fast line, they are now looking for extremities in each corner.

If you can put aside your bad habits, then figure out the fastest way possible around the track, the next step is then executing it. If you can figure everything out, and execute it, then you will probably be fine.

The thing to think about also, is just because you are slower in a time trial, it doesn't mean you would not give those drivers a competitive race, after all, you are competing for fractions of a second, which could be a car length or two.

This.

That's why we got to keep practicing and develop skills when racing on a track and how we operate driving a car while finding the perfect line. Thanks for the info. This means I need to practice more on GT.

Another thing is actually figuring out how different corners relate to eachother in terms of line, especially on S curves and odd shaped corners. Time gained coming in to one corner can mean time lost on the next, which some people will realize after 3-4 tries, others after quite a few more than that.

Sometimes the damn ghost cars can also provide massive damage to your ego too. You shoot out of the final corner, holding your breath, launching towards the finish, only to see the ghost car blip into existence in front of you right as you cross. :grumpy:

Just got look at the front page:

Round 5 – Nissan Skyline GT-R V・spec II Nür (GT Academy) ’02

High-Speed S Curves with Steep Elevation
Continuous Hairpin Corners with Steep Elevation
Spa-Francorchamps, ‘Pouhon’
Suzuka Circuit, ‘Degner Curve’
Series of Corners at Dusk, Low Visibility

Round 6 – GT-R Black edition (GT Academy) ’12

Nürburgring, ‘Pflanzgarten’
Sections with Rapid Elevation Changes
Top Gear Test Track, ‘Hammerhead’
Downhill S Curve
Sarthe at Night, ‘Hunaudieres’

And then I looked at a previous post:

I'm thinking the rounds will go like this:

Round 5 - Nissan Skyline R34 <

Round 6 - Nissan R35 GT-R <

Round 7 - Nissan 370Z Tuned

Round 8 - Nissan R35 GT-R Tuned

This is only my guess though.

I love being right (Most of the time) :D

Most of the new events (5-6) are really fun. My personal favorites are the Top Gear Hammerhead, Mt. Aso, and Lemans in the GTR, and Suzuka in the Skyline.

By next Sat. I should be in the thousands. :) I was 76th a few seconds ago haha!
