Yeah I watched a guy from the top 10 earlier and noticed in many corners he was going down to second, taking the corner then shifting to third pretty much on the apex. Very weird way to drive but it seems to work, I improved by nearly a second.

I should be trying this! lol I'll give it a shot tomorrow, hoping to get into the low 1:32's.

Strange how that works, the first day I was struggling to get into the 1:33's and now I can consistently hit low 1:33's and a couple high 1:32's.

So it's all in good practice! I hope I get closer to the 1:31's though. :dopey:

So is the sim racing world I guess, there are always oddball ways to be faster, bogging at low rpms out of the corner is just...yeah, foreign, I guess it works though.

Is it possible it's due to a strange Tranny / LSD setup?

It could be I guess, I mean if you can keep the same acceleration speed coming out of the corner in low 3rd as high 2nd, then low 3rd would be the way to go because you wont have to shift. The sound though, its kind of a mind****, when I hear the car bogging like that it tells me im in the wrong gear.

I agree, this track isnt very technical so most people have figured out nearly the fastest way around already. Sub 1:31 I think is very likely, sub 1:30 would probably mean someone found another place to mow the lawn haha

I think that our own forums raining Alien from the WRS "Twissy" is at the helm now and he is nothing but by the book. So when he starts having trouble showing the way around the track were all in trouble. His stuff is so clean and efficiant I don't know what it willl take to rock his world. He just keeps going faster. "Getum Twissy" 👍

Well i have took the last 6 hrs off and looked at leaderboard for US and i only dropped from 7th to 8th, im pretty happy with that. Seems the leaderboard wont be changing like crazy as much as it was anymore.

What was your time JerseyDriver?

Just wait, with 12 more days left, you will see people bumping you by hundredths of a second. You could have 30 people with a 1:31.7xx by the time its all over.

Does anyone know how manny finalist like R1600 that are placing in the top 100 that can't qualify for the top 32? Maybe their using a different handle or something.

Im sure of it. Good thing is i know for a fact i got another tenth or two for sure to take off still.

But in general i think people in top 10 might fall some but will be in top 32 in US for a while before they need to run anymore.

1.31.477. 2nd in US 20 something worldwide. Curious to see were its at in the morning. I've had enough for one day. Overall I'm very pleased I could set a fast one on day 1. Takes a lot of pressure off knowing I can still beat that time.

Good lap, by tomorrow i would not doubt if you stay number 2 US. I personally think that should be good enough for top 32, just keep an eye on it u never know. :)

I wanna 30 now. I seen it on that lap but the last left kills me every time. I think that's the hardest corner of the track. To me at least.

A 33.5 was the best i could do yesterday with my DS3 , i did near 20 laps today and got near 33.7 so its crazy to see controllers in the 32s because im lost to find anymore time.
I just cant see where its made up ?! so on that note Great work on your lap doodle 👍

Also the quickest time I see for the world time is just a 31.173 by Amo .

First place on a global level is using Strong Active Steering, and the leader in the US has ABS on one.
No wonder I can't beat these crazy times...only getting 35.501 with a DS3, 36.1xx with ABS off.

One feature I hate this year: Having to restart on cold tires when you hit a cone.

Is it just me, or are those cones a little too close to the track, I don't even get one wheel off and around a turn my bumper clips one, a little annoying.

That just shows how hard they want you to try :D

I guess, how do you guys start? I almost stop on the far side of the corner, so I can get a diagonal line so as not to spin my tires, when I cross the start/finish line I'm usually going Between 98 and 102 mph, am I slow there?

Yes , they should give us a red lap time instead.

Agreed.

Agreed again.

ABS off will get you nowhere quick in a competition like this.

Meh, not a fan of the track, mostly due to the cones. With the amount of time aliens have to perform that one perfect freak of a lap and with long flat-out stretches I'm fairly certain it's gonna take at least some low 30.x to get to the finals. 29s won't surprise me in the end.

See, I thought my first lap would always be a tad slower, and people were saying it was all just in my head, tsk tsk tsk. I'm good now, I just needed to hear it from someone else.

Think i will jump back on gta and see if i can pick up another tenth lol. Cant help myself. And as far as someone running a 29, i can basically guarantee no one will hit a 29. The best and i mean very best i see someone running is a 30.7 if your lucky.
