Can anyone tell me if they think me having my ps3 wireless right now for GTA is hurting me at all?

I'm using wireless also, don't see how it could be affecting anything. Seems to me we're just hotlapping in our own local session, which updates servers once we quit?

I was checking i didnt think it would affect anything. But i might hardline it sometime this week and see just for the heck of it.

Alright that's it I'm done. I'm 2+ car lengths behind the ghost I am chasing coming out of 4 & 5 and I just can't figure out how to get through there like everyone in front of me. Not only that I can't figure out the last turn either and lose at least a tenth coming to the finish line.

Have fun guys.

Hi guys! Mind if i join the conversation?

I'm te9500rpm i am from the Philippines and i have a US PSN account (no philippine PSN) tried my luck at GT Academy so far my time is 1'32'514 using DS3 (i have no wheel wish i had 1) with no aids and with ABS set to 1.

I am really having a hard time getting the car stabilized in turns 3 to 5 that is where i lose most of my time. Would like to try and break the 1'32 barrier in the coming days.

Any tips would be really appreciated especially to those who are already in the 1'31 region.

Thanks GTP!

The 370z tuned version is not a car that could fit my driving style so don't ask me.i couldn't set a faster time in that understeering piece of mess

I actually like the challenge of driving this car it has its own very unusual behavior

I'm just really glad this final round's an actual track and not a god damn random Eifel track.

i just ran a 1:32.252 followed by a 1:32.251 on the very next lap LOL ughhh still am not perfect, i can get ahead of the 2nd place US guy in several spots but he always ends up in front of me

apparently now my rank is 95... Come on 32 or better! ...tired as hell..really affecting my performance...i swear my poor DFGT will start smoking eventually. Well...i'll get back at it when i wake up, good night everyone and good luck..

it takes me a good 45 minutes or so just to get in the 'zone' running consistent low 1:32s, then from there it's a case of that one magical run where everything goes right

So am I the only person getting the slight freeze/pause every time I cross the finish line? It is very brief, but if it's only happening to me, I'm worried it may be adding to my lap time. Even if it's only 0.1s, that could make all the difference in the world.

On a different note, I really wish I lived in Brazil right now. Top time for Brazil is currently 1:32.347.

I haven't had much time with this but frig man...I am struggling with this track + car combo. I've never excelled with the car to begin with and the track has so many turns where you have to whip the tail out to get the right angle. I see another 5 tenths at most for me but that's pretty much it.

RSnider, I am getting a slight freeze/pause too when I cross the line but it could just be the ghost loading.

Your more you slide your car to get it to turn the more you are scrubbing speed and killing your exit speed try and brake a touch earlier.

wow im amazed at samurai_405, almost at 1:30 with a ds3 and top ww. I need to see his ghost lol, so far my best is 1:33.6 with ds3

That's just nutty. Getting to a 1:30.9 is going to be nothing short of perfection. I have to imagine a 1:31.0xx is pretty dang close to it.

...and yes, sliding is slow, but to go really fast you have to use every bit of slip angle the tires have in them and keep the car in an oversteer state on entry, which ends up looking like a drift almost. It's not though, it's walking right on the edge of grip and as soon as you just barely go over it, even for a moment, you just lost time. Understeering/plowing through corners is a sure way to burn lots of time as is going full drift.

Not only the start-finish line for me, but it happens frequently if/when I go slightly off-track or hit a cone. It's like certain parts of the track or textures aren't cached, so they keep loading from the hard drive, very annoying.

I'm slow enough on my own without these little pauses interfering with my lap times.

👍 agreed. My 1:31.7 is close to all i have. I know i can get down to a .5, but other than that it would take a great lap for me to go any further than that. I just cant put a whole lap together.

I watched samurai_405's replay and I have absolutely no idea how he/she managed nearly 1:30. He/she sort of jabs at the throttle on and off where everyone else uses partial throttle. I can't figure out how this doesn't completely upset the balance of the car.

Well, I was telling myself my 1:34 was because I only have a controller, and there are extra settings with the wheel to fix the car from sliding around, thanks a lot samurai, now I can't use that excuse anymore:grumpy:.

He's using this so you still can use the excuse 👍

I dunno, it's a fine line for me between purposely letting the car get into a semi slide or just braking earlier. Either way, i'm still losing loads of time. I either press the throttle too soon and oversteer or press it too late. This track will drive me insane.

And Samurai is on another level. Fastest Pad player by far, and one of the fastest gt5 racers for sure. This man nearly wins tournaments with just the pad.

Here's something I posted awhile back... but here is the legend in action at a Japan tournament.

I might be able to join the 31's club if i could just figure out turns 4 & 5. I am normally early with entering or late. All about timing. Having loads of fun though.
