figures lol no way around not getting a wheel
I for one sure don't want KAZ or his team tuning or working on my real car because they sure don't know how to tune/setup a car. Really isn't this supposed to be a tuned 370Z!Hell if I didn't know any better I'd say this is the Gran Turismo Drift Academy.

In this final round, your car is a tuned version of the Nissan 370Z.
After my second lap I set a 1:35.996. That might be one of the closest gold times out there. Also my ghost didn't appear on my second lap, anyone else have this?
I watched samurai_405's replay and I have absolutely no idea how he/she managed nearly 1:30. He/she sort of jabs at the throttle on and off where everyone else uses partial throttle. I can't figure out how this doesn't completely upset the balance of the car.
I've also been watching his ghost, and from what I've seen, he's really not that quick through the corners, it's at the end of every corner where he takes off like a rocket, i guess he's using the brake and gas at the same time, while shifting, all with the controller, must be double jointed
Is he aiming the car at the apex through a slight oversteer?(or "Norwegian flick" as I've heard it called in some circles). NOTE: to anyone reading this: I'm here to learn. Please, be respectful and don't bite my head off.
To be honest, it's hard to tell, from my vantage point, a couple of seconds behind, lol, it looks like his car is handling perfect, no real oversteer to speak of, I'm guessing because he is going rather slow on all turns, but on the way out of the turn his car speeds further away from mine at a pretty decent clip.
You know you can save the replay and watch it in the replay theater on the main menu, right? You can see all the braking and throttle inputs that way.
Alright that's it I'm done. I'm 2+ car lengths behind the ghost I am chasing coming out of 4 & 5 and I just can't figure out how to get through there like everyone in front of me. Not only that I can't figure out the last turn either and lose at least a tenth coming to the finish line.
Have fun guys.
I've seen your times posted here before and I hesitate to make any comments at all since I am nowhere near as fast.
But here goes... I try to brake earlier and make the s (turns 4 and 5) part of the straight. That's what made the difference for me. Regarding the last turn (turn 12?), I got my best results with a late apex and all the patience I could muster.
PS: Don't mind me, I'm an old fat guy and only in this for the free cars...
I have his ghost saved and am trying to keep up but no luck.
it takes me a good 45 minutes or so just to get in the 'zone' running consistent low 1:32s, then from there it's a case of that one magical run where everything goes right
Same here. Takes awhile just to get a rhythm going for me as well.
Whose bright idea was it to put ****ing cones on the apex of every turn, I have to dodge them just to get a decent lap (And this is in 8-3 & 8-4, haven't even tried 8-5 other than just to see the track)
That bright idea is saving the majority of drivers having to redo the event due to corner cutting. Feel free to search for corner cutting in the forums here. You'll find the cones come up as a solution quite often. Frankly, its been said my many already but I'll say it again: the fastest guys are ahead on the learning curve. Taking the cones away won't suddenly make the average driver's time jump to the top of the leaderboard.
But moving the cones back a foot or so wouldn't create corner cutting. They're too close to the track.
