^^lmao.

What would be a good way to practice for the GT Academy?

I was thinking of using a few Nissan's (370z, GTR, Leaf, etc.) and getting familiar with the 4 mentioned track's.

Yup, thats what I will do as soon as I can get my hands on a copy of gt5. All in stock form of course. I hope I can jump right into those cars and start racing, and not have to do any license tests. I fired up a copy GT4 a few months ago for all of 2 hours maybe before I got frustrated. And picked up shift2 instead

I would do it this way:

  • Nissan Leaf w/Comfort Medium tires
  • Nissan 370Z w/Comfort Soft tires
  • Nissan GT-R '12 w/Sport Hard tires

^^have you had a chance to play GT5?

I'll keep this in mind, I got done using the 370z (w/Sport Hard's) at Tokyo Route ...but forgot how much patience it takes to get through smoothly, lol.

Even more so when I try it with Comfor Soft's. :dopey:

I'm just thinking like Sony/PD on this one. Usually they give us crap tires.

True that. lol

What do you guys think of this:

^^seem's like it's going to be similar to the license test's.

Maybe the last few challenges will be "full course" TT's.

How is this going to work? With a low hp car on a simple curve, we will have a 250 way tie for first.
Hope we don't get cheaters 👍

LOL, its all about those hundredths or thousandths of a second. I've got a CL meet for GT5 in a bit here. I hope there arent too many license tests in the may 1st download.

In that thread linked, the GTR pic, looks as if there are rounds. I wonder if you need to qualify with certain times to pass onto the next round?

I am a little bit concerned... So we are going to have a series of one corner tests (for example) throughout the week? This means that we will have to be present for a series of tests for 8 weeks?

well the way i see it, everything in this pic, with the possible exceptions of the car is a placeholder.
And what PD has given us thus far was very thinly veil hints and what will happen.
So the way I see it this pic implies that there will be challenges, but not the one in the picture

I've got my lawnmower blades sharpened for this year's academy. If anyone wants some pointers don't be afraid to ask.

Yes, just 1: How can I set the fastest time?
Joking, I am wondering how many GTA members will be repeats.

Last year 50,000. This year 200,000 - 250,000? Thats my guess at least. It could be a nice bump of PS3 sales for Sony.

I know a lot of really REALLY fast guys from the rfactor, iracing, etc series are going to give this a go. The competition will be a lot stronger this time around.

If you think you can make the finals. Make sure you're in good shape! I hope I can make it out of the first round. :dopey:
