I dont think anyone is locked in haha I think by day 12, the top 32 might all be within .1-.2 of eachother with maybe a few strays in the very front. I figure at minimum you will need a 31.5 to make the cut if not better.

Personally I am at 32.6 and that last corner kills me everytime im on a good run. You have to drift around the turn and gun it at the apex to get the proper run on the straight. Anytime I am on a good lap I end up over thinking "don't mess up" and then end up too conservative hugging the corner killing my exit speed. :(

My boss at work hopes that we fill the top 32 with ineligible people to make a pretty loud statement. ;)

Haha, what you should do is have your boss make a PSN, you do his fast lap for him to make the cut, then send him on a free trip to Florida lol You never know he might give you a bonus!

Well a nice break helped, just ran a 1.31.641. Need to shave off at least 3 more tenths right now.

Edit: 15 mins later 1.31.556

Nice times.
I still stuck at 32.402, I keep running 32.49s and 32.65s over and over and over..
I'm not that bad in T1, just can't keep it from drifting on me. I ran T1 twice less than a car length off the 31.0 times T1 and I'm gaining slightly in the next sector (I'm willing to bet that a good .2 is left in T2), but that second to last corner murders me every time.

Will give the test another go later, right now all I want is a 31.8 (That's what I figure I can do once I get that corner right).

FFS. I hate that 'S' bend. :grumpy:
Oh, you barely lifted to avoid a cone? Congratulations, you just lost 0.5s.

It seems I've reached my limit at 1:32.2xx. Is anyone willing to take a look at my lap and give me some tips if I upload a video?

I just improved from my last run; 34.967. Not the best time, but it's much better than a 35.399. ^^

The first set of bends sap speed out of me, and the first set of bends on the other side of the oval really get me if I'm entering too fast.

I've been stuck at a 1:31.971 all day. I know if I can string together my best sectors I could get at least a 31.7 or 6. The important thing for me is that I am the fastest in the country with a controller and I want to try and keep that title. Last time I checked I was the 12th quickest controller player in the world :)

Edit: Just double checked via mygranturismo and I am actually the 14th quickest controller player. Almost half of the guys ahead of me are japanese.

Well, i accomplished my goal of breaking into 1:32 with a .941. I dont think i'll run too much more. I'm just as worried about it as much as i was last year. The competitve edge against other people is gone for me this year. More just personal victories.

I only got to 1:32.2 from 1:32.4 today. My mistakes are obvious, so at least I am not confused where I am loosing time. I almost had a 31 but I messed the last corner up. More than that though, I am really struggling with the second to last corner. It is by far my worst. How is Mav able to brake so late, barely stay at 100% brake pressure and still get the car stopped enough to rotate and exit?

T1 1 I am identical T2-that up hill S to the first straight I am about .1 behind. I lose another .1-.2 at the next corner. About .2 on the second uphill S. Then about .4-.5 on that stupid second to last corner. Last corner about .1

I know if I only lose .1 for every corner I will be ok. I am basically at that point... except for that one corner... ugh.

I didn't realize that the top 32 who went to Orlando last year were not eligible for this year's competition until I checked this thread tonight :guilty:
I just put in 3 hours trying to get myself close to the U.S. leaders.

Good luck to all the guys competing this year. There's no point in me posting any more times. There are some really fast guys this time around, and I hope you all do a great job. Cheers

Don't give up! We're on a quest to occupy the top 32 with ineligible drivers! :dopey:

And you wondered why you guys were ineligible this year, lol. I think your comments were along the lines of they should let you guys in because there are alot more faster guys this year so it would be harder for you guys to get in Well, I guess it doesn't look like it now does it with most of you guys occupying the top spots. I think they made the right call. Nothing personal against you guys, but you guys had your chance, its good to give other people a shot.

I hear what you are saying, but going to the National Finals is not the "ultimate" prize, going to Silverstone and getting a chance to actually drive race cars on a real life track is the whole point.

I understand how they could rationalize the top 16 being ineligible this time around, but not 16 who didn't make it to Silverstone.

They're looking for the fastest gamers/drivers in the country, no?

It won't change anything this year, but I think the point is to say "here we are, we're still fast".

Im gonna have to take a few days off i lost my touch now. Im all over the place on the track no rythm at all keep running 32.0 like every lap lol. At least i tried 18th US right now and gradually dropping. :irked:

Good lluck king dont give up, i finally noticed it was the 2nd to last corner that was killing my times, Time to shoot for 31.5-7 wish me luck!!

They should be searching for the fastest drivers.

They weren't searching for the fastest drivers last time either. The 32 that went to the national finals weren't the 32 fastest drivers in the nation. Some people made it just because they were in a weak region.

Yeah I'm still bitter...SO?! =p

You and me both ;)

And I see your point and I bet they do too, lol. I told you before that you guys would even improve over the last year. Maybe not you (As you yourself told me) but I'm sure the other guys have. Like me for instance. I don't have much of a chance this year as I only recently got serious in playing and improving my skills when I got this game. But next year will be a different story as I plan on making a very serious run at it. My skill level is just not there yet. Anyway, like we talked about before, hopefully they will let you guys in next year. Like I said, nothing personal against any of you guys, just my opinion, thats all. Peace.

It's all situational. I was one of the guys that slipped in due to the regional rules, but I also didn't turn laps on the last day and a half. I know I had more time to find but life took me away from the competition.

I also finished 5th at the National competition so I had second chance to prove I should have made it through the TT portion of the competition.

Truthfully I'm glad they changed the rules this year even though the format last year worked better for me personally. :)
