I'm starting to get anxious. I have a 1:31.379, I've fallen from 14th to 19th in 24 hours, and last year, I fell from 6th to 13th in the last 3 hours. And I keep running high .3s at best. But to top it all off, my ps3 is starting to shut off at complete random. At this rate, I'm def not making it to finals :nervous:

I ran my 31.313 like 4 days ago and didnt try anymore and then today i started watching my name drop like a rock. Im starting to get nervous now im down to 12tth in US now really 11th i believe but im worried it might not make it to finals.

Yeah I'm in the same boat, I dropped like a rock today too (I was in 13th right behind you). Thankfully I was able to find some more time with a 1 hour 45 minute session. I hadn't played since last Thursday night and it sure does wonders to take a few days off and come back at it fresh. I was hitting my marks much more consistently, with pretty much all my laps in the 31s tonight.

I thought for sure .323 would be good enough Thursday when I set it, but now I'm even doubting my .256. The first place time is down at 1:30.7xx now!

I've dropped from 4th to 8th now :grumpy: I haven't done a lap since Saturday though, and I'll start back up tomorrow. Got to get back in the top 5, I'm sure I'm safe, but it's a bit nerve racking :nervous:

Im sure by Sunday the top 10 will be 1:31.1's or better, and hopefully a few US residents crack the 1:30's as well. The rest of the world is putting us to shame right now!

After slacking off, I finally went through Rounds 6-8 today. All I can say is that there's no point in me packing bags for Orlando. Granted, I only ran 15 minutes, but I'm not sure I can get into the 31s. The Z's a car I can't read at all, especially the rear end. It just snaps loose without warning.

Motegi's looks much nicer, though. Certainly not the lifeless brown it was in GT4.

Yeah, I gotta get back into the mix tomorrow. I got back from my vacation and I'm just resting and getting my energy back to get a lower time possible. I wish I could go to Orlando and if I did pass, Silverstone, but I don't have a passport unfortunately :(.

So I'm gonna put effort in a good time and enjoy seeing Motegi again :D.

Yeah i thought for sure my .313 would be good enough which it still could be maybe. But either way im gonna get on today and have a few sessions at it see if i can knock a little off. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Talk about getting worried. I've watched my time drop all the way down to 30th. I just can't seem to improve. I think i just need to get back to the basics and quit overthinking and over driving. I figured out what i've been doing wrong last night and just about had a good one put together only to choke in the next to last corner. Its gonna be a hell of a battle these last few days.

...as most friends I knew who are good at sims, when they drive in real life with manual ... the results were very vary, most are rough handler with heel and toe.

The thing that cracked me up are the guys who couldn't understand how to break the rear loose around the dirt corner they were so clueless from having only sim experience.

There have been a few attempts at iRacing to put their sim aliens in real cars, both attempts showed the guys just weren't cut out for real racing. Even though they were spun as "victories" for the sim community, in reality the guys were just off pace and couldn't hang in real life.

I recall Gregor Hutto from iRacing getting in an open wheel car, being pretty fast and then puking.

Assuming it's in Orlando. :) (We don't know yet)

After a long stint last night I managed to knock half a second off. I'm flirting with getting into the 1:32:xxx's. Work is going to make finding time to drive difficult this week, it'll probably be all down to saturday.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to run out of talent long before I get near the top 32. Not going to stop trying though.

Last year it was midnight eastern.

I don't envy you guys with this years format, having only one short track is going to make for a crazy cutoff. Good luck!!

We've been a day ahead the whole time though being as there was not a Monday May 1st. May 1st was a tuesday.

I suppose that's true... The rules say that 8-5 was to open on Monday, but it opened on Saturday. My guess is that it closes sometime Sunday night, as that has been when each round has opened. The rules say it closes Sunday 11:00pm EST.

Hopefully there is some type of count down timer.

Am I the only person who has never hit the second to last corner right? It seems like every time I go through there I get a different bad result. I had a good lap going today, and pushed so bad, still a new fast lap but I wonder how many times it's going to take to get it right.

I have yet to make up any time on any of the ghosts that I've followed in that corner. I just watch them pull away.

Your not the only one. Thats the only thing i'm consistant with on this combo. I consistantly screw that turn up. :banghead:

Well that makes me feel better than I'm not the only one. Makes me feel worse that you're faster also screwing that corner up. :)

Yeah don't feel too bad man, I screw that corner up constantly. I can't count how many 31.1's I've blown in that corner :banghead:

Hopefully there is some type of count down timer.

There will, the last GT Academy had one & the TT's have a timer, I believe it shows up on the final hour.

It would be sad if someone was about to get a low 1:31 when the lap/timer started on 1:30.999.

Anyway, I'm getting closer to achieving my 1:31 goal; I am now at 1:32.1 not a huge improvement but I'm getting closer. :dopey:
