i can't get less than 1.34. i have no idea what i'm doing wrong. i feel like such an amateur.

have you watched tidgney's tutorial? I was running in the 34-35 range, with a best of 33.75. I'm now at 32.998, and I'm sure I can get a 32.5. It's just a matter of practice.

Yeah practice goes a long way for guys like us. If you're at 32.5 now, I bet you can flirt with breaking 32 in a few. I was at 32.5 this weekend. I think I'm really close to breaking 32 now.
... and the video is really good. For guys who are looking at it back in the 34 sec zone, pay attention to 80% throttle opportunities. The double chicane is a killer for anyone who veers away from the curbs with bursts of 100% throttle at the wrong spots.

Finally broke into the 31s with a .935, and I did it without even looking at other people's ghosts, and without lame-o active steering. :)

Now to see where I'm losing all my time.

You're not the only one. I run lap after lap, some are a lot better than others, and might cut a half second, but then I screw up a corner and it's gone.

To me, turns 1-5 are a combination, how you do in one determins how you'll do in the next ... for 5 turns! I'm still off 1.1sec in the first section. That's over half of what I'd need to cut to be in 1st.

I'm still stuck at 1:31.969s. I recorded a video of my fastest lap. If it doesn't go against event etiquette, can I get some feedback on where I am losing time and how to better drive the car/track? Last year, I got some great advice from a few GTP members during the regional rounds, but unfortunately missed out by 0.313s. However, seeing's how we're all head-to-head this year, I apologize if I'm crossing some line by asking for help. I also have the bumper cam and chase cam recorded, if those would be more helpful.

Try coasting the car in a bit through T8-9. Granted, I'm at a 935, but my impression is that you're slower than me through there. Then again, I use bumper cam, so I could be wrong. :dunce:

Please note I am only .2 ahead of you... so that that for what it is worth.

That was a pretty good lap. I would say you need a little more throttle right after T2 and through the first S (series of corners after T2). Your exit speed was a bit slow there.

The turn before the second bridge, you corner speed is 2-3mph too slow. Try to carry more speed through the corner. On the sweeper you should also try to carve a line with less steering.

On the second S you need to be on the power more through the corner.

Other than that I can't say much.

A surprise 31.893 thanks to the car actually not pushing like a pig or otherwise spinning one of the rear tires through the first five sectors. :)

New objective, stay in the Top 100. My guess is that I'll need a low 7, which may just be possible with a perfect lap.

4 days before the competition ends and my ps3 decides to ylod. Happened last year, happened this year too >_<
Can anyone lend me a system? Lol

Go get a refurb system from gamestop and return it in a week lol that's what I ended up doing last year.

Im getting so frustrated right now. Every single lap i run right now is below a 31.350 but cant get no better than my .301 lol. Its driving me nuts. :banghead:

^^ At least you're consistent.

Yeah which should mean a .2xx should be coming soon i hope. But i have a feeling my .301 might not hold up for top 32, would be a shame too i have been in top 20 at all times since competition started lol.

You're killing yourself! Kill your negative thoughts. Take a mental enema. Come back at it when you're better prepared mentally and confident.

One of the aliens, I can't remember which, has a banner, "If you believe you can, or you believe you can't, you are correct."

Lol, well i believed and i ran a 31.275 going for more though now lol

This competition has heated up WOW. Times are jumping around like crazy tonight.

Edit: Just knocked my time down to a .210 for 5th in US feeling much better now. :D

Im happy!!
i got 1:34:706, now im ranked 104th in Mexico and 22411th in Global ranking
that's not too bad if you consider i was driving using directional buttons :)

Yeah don't feel too bad man, I screw that corner up constantly. I can't count how many 31.1's I've blown in that corner :banghead:

That second to last corner is still a mystery to me, seems like when I kind of get it right I'm scrubbing too much speed.

So you guys up in the .3s and faster, just curious do those laps have a mistake in them? My fast lap today was a .6 but the last two corners were less than good. I mean if I could string a lap together without any bad mistakes I'm sure I could be in the .3s but I'm starting to wonder if that's going to happen.

I had one yesterday where my .264 was completely off screen (I use chase cam) going into that turn. I entered it well, but the car wouldn't stop sliding after I stopped trail braking. 🤬..... Just 🤬

I had my ghost by 2 and half car lengths going into last turn my ghost at time was down at a .301 and went into last corner and spun the dayum thing out trying to get back to throttle to early. I have learned when im ahead by that much best thing to do is braked early if your ghost cathes up to you no big deal because you will get back to throttle sooner and pull ghost off corner and be close to same gap you had on ghost before entrance to corner. Thats what i did last night and i ran my .210.

Usually a touch later than that to tell you the truth but last night i started braking a touch earlier than that board and backed off brake early to entrance and trail braked alot more. Im not sure if thats the best thing to do i just was getting sick of overdriving last turn when i was ahead of my ghost last night so i backed up the corner and seemed to help with not making mistakes. You can watch my ghost if you want im still 7th in US. 👍

King what is your brake marker for last turn? The "60" board?

For whatever reason I use the completely arbitrary "shortly after I pass the white part on the end of the pit wall" marker. It gets the job done for me.

King: Do me a favor and stop finding time! :sly:

I cant lol. Times have dropped dramatically im still scared at a .210 lol. :nervous:
