I hope Stig was watching the GTP live stream. This course looks evil.
Pretty sure he's going in blind.

The camber in the corners combined with the track's width is what makes custom courses a pain. That and the lack of reference points.

I think the key was just putting down a clean lap (which would be about 2:00). I think the last guy just did not get a good lap in. So it goes.

I'm a little surprised how wide the gap is, though. I can only speculate that some were controller users, or that the wheel wasn't to their liking.

I'll admit that if I was driving this course, I'd be using the gear change indicators as a starting point. Brake a second after it flashes, and coast the car into the corner.

Exactly what I would have done. Take the first lap at a safe pace, realize the last section is tricky, explore on the second lap and go for it on the third. I am sure there was a lot of pressure so I do not want to be judgmental.

I'm sure there is, especially with the possibility of being eliminated right off the bat, and not knowing how everyone else is doing. :nervous:

I wonder how the races will go. If they're like this...

...then it's gonna be tough. :)

Oh man I hate those random Eifel tracks! The curbing is all in the wrong places, no real landmarks to take reference from, crazy elevation changes!! Just hate them! My respect to those of you who can master them in 2 laps!

Ah that sucks indeed. I just think unfamiliarity with the track, plus maybe not knowing a time to beat/set and completely new setup/environment etc might have compounded to the whole nervousness.

Yeah it's Tsukuba but I'm in with some of the cleanest drivers I've ever raced with so i'm feeling good.
