GT Academy 2012 number of players

Just for curiosity, I ran a lap on the very first event slowing down for the bronze, and then my rank falls under 12,xxxth place, meaning the total number of players worldwide participating not even reach 50,000th number of players.

My question is how come on the front page of the GT online event showing millions, could anyone clarify this for me.

I think you are trying the gt academy south Africa version which resets the ranking. This one lots less participation. By round 6, which I did, I reckon there are only 3000 or less racing. I tried going slow to exceed bronze time by 2 sec and is ranked 26xx. Went gold and somewhere between 6xx to 15xx position for round 5 and 6.

Just to clarify my concern, I would be proud of myself if the case is this, that for example in any event, I ranked 1000th place against millions of players, but looking at the bronze status, you will rank most probably to let say 10,000th place, so 990,000 player cant even bronze the easiest event.
