I've been doing 1:01s easily at home, but at the live event no where close, it's the V1.00 of GT6 before the Physics update.

Yeah, much more stable in the latest update, too bad I sold my wheel and can't practice so if any of you guys have any tips do share.

My best till now using v1.00 and after about 30 laps is 1.02.8xx, I need some tips too mate.

That is my best lap too so I can't help you there  , not sure if it's because I'm rusty or what but can't see me getting much faster than that, the long right hander after the second straight is still a mystery to me, but I feel I'm getting the maximum out of every corner.

Ok so there a few speculations that we are the ones who will go to morocco not the other way around. Still word of mouth.

Any news over at morocco or algeria? did you guys start the live events yet?

The live event will start the next saturday 11.00am GMT+1. No word from Algeria, zero info :).

It would be great that Morocco (Marrakech) hosts the north african final event.

Welcome to visit us guys :)

Good luck

there is something I don't understand  there are a lot of live events and they said they will choose the best gamers from these live events . But how many people they will choose from each live event ? are all the live events similar ? like the same car and same track so that they choose the top 5 or 10 ? or are they going to choose the best 5 from each live event and make a small final to choose the 5 that will represent their country ?

I guess all the live events results will be combined in an overall leaderboard, the top 5 or 10 depending on the country will make it through.
And yes same car, same track otherwise it won't make sense.

Here in egypt the local promoter is touring sites in egypt like malls and colleges to find the overall top 10 drivers. same car and same track. if say for example they go to a location and none of the drivers break the top 10 times for any of the previous location then no drivers are selected from that one location.

and @Mamaghi i am sure i am speaking for me and @sems4arsenal when we say we would be honored but either way we hope both you and @drspeedy make your list of top 5 drivers. good luck and bring pictures :D

The regional finals was held in Dubai over 3 days:

Day 1 :

-28 competitors from the regions participating arrived at the Hotel and were given their GT academy gear and rooms to stay in.

Day 1 :

- All 28 competitors were gathered at the conference room where Jonathan Bowers the GTA global marketing manager gave the overall three days competition plans.

- All 28 competitors were summoned at a nearby sporting area with indoors football and basketball fields, and a special GTA display of 6 circular rigs were placed

- The simulation challenges started with 3 laps of the Silverstone national circuit using a normal 370Z to test brute speed and consistancy
- Later on 5 laps of the international circuit with a GTR for consistancy
- Later on we were given a race car for the first time it was the GTR GT3 on the Silverstone grandprix circuit for a one lap shootout.

- we had lunch and they told us to prepare ourselves for the media test which consisted of few questions for each contestant in the likes of why did you compete in GTA and why do you think you are worth to qualify to Silverstone.

- Later on the told us to be prepared for the fitness test which consisted of the following:

1-Bleep test done on a football field were we had to run from the field mid line towards the goal line on beeps which pace goes faster each time. I remember that the winner did reach level 12 if I'm not mistaken.
2-Plank Test
3-Push up Test

this concluded day 1 of the competition

Day 2:

- Elimination round were 10 of the contestant were chosen to leave the competition
- We saw the preparation of a big tent from the hotel windows that will serve to be our final ceremony location in an opposite big parking area along with the placing of cones for the real driving test.
-Simulation round 2 consisted of:
10 laps on the suzuka east circuit in a R35 GT3 for consistancy
1 lap shootout using R35 GT4 on spa francoshamps using confort soft tires

- we later headed to the now built up tent for the real driving challenge

20140620_080632.jpg IMG-20140621-WA0051.jpg

the course consisted of 4 slaloms followed by 2 360's around big yellow cones (picture) and a box stop
you get the chance to do one practice run with the assistance of a coach from Yas Marina circuit don't remember his name sorry .
Usage of handbrake proved essential even though your main objective was to cover the course as flawless as possible without hitting any cones.
The car used was a 350 Z with manual gearbox.

This concludes all challenges. We then had lunch and the finals ceremony which saw 6 of the best 28 qualify to Silverstone.

@sems4arsenal hope this answers your question best of luck to all who qualify this year.

@Shlagem were you told about the GT challanges before the event to get a chance to practice them?

@sems4arsenal i'm not :(

off course not an event planing company was hired to organize it with the assistance of Playstation middle east, most of the time they would ask Jonathan to confirm the track and car combination.

they chose small circuits and small layouts most of the time except for the 1 lap shootouts.

my suggestions is to be ready and practice all circuits and Nissan cars.

I just finished the weekend lol ... currently me and @Mamaghi are waaay ahead of the third . the track used was silverstone international with the black gt3 and all settings off exept abs 1 and automatic transmission .... we had like 5 laps to make the best time but if we want we can stay untill the end to play more . I did 1.03.8xx . the third have done 1.04.850 so yes there is a biig gap between the second and third . they said they are going to choose the 20 fastest gamers in this TT and make a small final in a nissan showroom to choose the 5 that will represent morocco . the wheel used though is a driving force GT :banghead:

You mean this thing?
latest

if so then i guess that's the same race as the ones we have. and be thankful you're using only one DFGT we have like random wheels half of which are now broken. also we have allegedly suffered a few counts of cheating and the organizers are yet to do anything about it so be thankful it's only one rig where one guy is watching everyone play.

also 1:03:xx is a bit slower then the 15 or so top guys so far so good one you ma man :D we hope to see you guys even tho i might be around 15th now and my chances of making the final are getting smaller but you will definitely get to see @sems4arsenal since he is now second

what kinda tires are you guys using? also how many tries do you get? or do you get to go all you want?
